Search and Destroy: The Battle for Search Engine Supremacy Between Microsoft and Google

At first there were WebCrawler, AltaVista, Excite, Lycos and many others. As the algorithms that run them became more complex and technology evolved, a Darwin-style process began to kill those who failed to adapt to an ever-changing virtual climate. And then there were two.

Microsoft knows this position very well. They are in a constant stalemate with Sony to see who will emerge victorious in the field of video games. Then there’s the endless battle of PC vs. Mac, fueled by Apple’s constant barrage of best-selling innovations (iPod, iPhone, iPad… you get the iDea). Microsoft bought Yahoo! in an attempt to narrow the playing field against the competition.

Sign in to Google. Hot on the heels of the launch of its Google Chrome search engine and Android operating system, a company from humble beginnings has grown into a tech giant. Google survived its search, and it did so through a simplicity… well, at least to the naked eye. Google search is related to a series of complex formulas that no one really knows except Google. Whatever it is, they work… because more people use Google search than any other search engine.

The Microsoft story is one we all know. Founded by college dropout Bill Gates with his friend Paul Allen in 1975, Microsoft was the world’s first developer of computer languages. Since then, the Redmond, Washington-based corporation has grown to become one of the largest and most influential companies in the world.

They also own the patents for Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, and Windows. 20 years after Microsoft’s inception, Bill Gates pitched his “Internet Tidal Wave Memo” to the company and the rest is history. MSN (Microsoft Network) was launched on August 24, 1995 to compete with AOL and has come to dominate all of its competitors… except one.

Google was started by two college classmates, Larry Page and Sergei Brin PhD, in March 1996 as a research project for school. Google wasn’t always Google. It started with another name, “BackRub”. Page and Brin decided that the name should be changed a year after its inception to something a little catchier… Google. Google comes from the word googolplex, which means 1 followed by 100 zeros. All this was part of the philosophy that the founders of Google wanted to convey to users. They were going to change the way we search, and they weren’t going away anytime soon.

The first search engine ever created did not belong to Microsoft or Google. A Montreal student named Alan Emtage created Archie in 1990. Archie, short for archives, was an internet database of file names that would match user searches. Subsequently, two more search engines were created under the names of Veronica and Jughead, both characters from the popular Archie comics.

Start of a new era

The World Wide Web was born in 1991 when Tim-Berners Lee decided to merge hypertext with DNS and FTP servers. The first website in the history of websites (http://info.cern.ch/) went online on August 6, 1991. Berners-Lee founded the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) at MIT in 1994. By the end of the year, there were about 10 different search engines, including Excite, Lycos, Yahoo!, LookSmart, and WebCrawler.

I feel lucky?

When Google came online in 1996, it was one of many portals that people could use to navigate through the growing number of websites. Many people were confused by Google’s surprisingly simple page. It had the Google Beta logo and a search box with no images, just a few links, and two buttons: “Google Search” and “I’m getting lucky.” The Google home page has remained largely unchanged to date. Microsoft’s MSN search was already a year ahead of them, but still not their biggest competition.

To make way for progress, Google had to beat the little guys. They did this very effectively by indexing more websites and returning more relevant results to user queries. Its lack of frills and quick, concise responses drew 84.7% of all web searches between its home page and partner sites in early 2004. This led Yahoo to remove its name from Google’s partner list and act on your own. Not by force, but through intelligence, Google prevails. Google’s code of conduct is “Don’t Be Evil”.

If you buy the sites people go to, you can control the Web.

YouTube is one of the most viewed sites on the internet, due to user-submitted clips and viral videos covering virtually every topic imaginable. Google bought YouTube in 2006 for a whopping $1.65 billion. That wasn’t his only key power play. Google also bought Pyra Labs, maker of Blogger, in 2003, a small part of AOL in 2005 and, more recently, 3D desktop software maker ClickBump in 2010. This has been just part of Google’s push to stay on top. .

secured and loaded

It wasn’t until 2010 that Microsoft swooped in and bought Yahoo! and changed the game with what they called “the first decision engine”, Bing. Bing takes a more visual approach to searching the web and even has comedic TV ads to prove it. After all, it’s pretty obvious now that Microsoft has its sites set up on Google. $47.2 billion to stay at the table and see the cards. Microsoft can do that. Bill Gates was recently demoted to the second richest man in the world.

What does this mean for those of us who are innocent bystanders simply browsing the web for fun and work? For now, better and faster search results. As Microsoft and Google battle it out, both companies will have to push themselves to provide better services to grab their market share. If you don’t like any of the search engines, the other types like Excite and AltaVista are still around. They just aren’t used as much anymore. As for Google or Microsoft giving up, they are too entrenched in technology for this to be likely in the near future. There is too much ammunition and too big a fight in the hearts of both sides. The battle lines have been drawn and now all we can do is watch the carnage unfold.

How To Build Muscle 101: Your Complete No-nonsense Guide

The worst thing you can do when you start trying to build muscle is imitate what you see in muscle building and muscle magazines. Don’t try to do the things that professional bodybuilders do. You’re just starting out and they’re on a lot of steroids (meaning they can make gains on almost any program, even unhealthy ones).

If you’re an average guy or gal, you should follow a basic, no-nonsense approach to start building muscle fast. And you also need a guideline to follow to make sure you don’t overdo it at first (which ultimately hurts your progress).

With this in mind, read on to find out…

How To Build Muscle: Ten Tips To Help You Build Muscle Fast!

Here we go, the only “sane” guide you’ll ever need:

1. Focus on strength first – More strength will always equal more muscle. Also, it is embarrassing to be very big and not have strength. Furthermore, strength is the basis of all physical ability. If you are an athlete and want more resistance, more speed, more agility, etc. all these physical qualities will improve when you improve your strength.

*Bodyweight training: I recommend starting with bodyweight (BW) training first because you need to master your own bodyweight before attempting to lift more weights in iron form. Practice the basics: push-ups, pull-ups, dips, squats, pistols, crunches, V-crunches, etc. Move on to more difficult versions of each move when they get easy. Also, BW training is excellent for strengthening tendons.

* Weight Training: Weight training is great for building strength. And you don’t need a lot of expensive equipment. A set of Olympic weightlifting bars is all you need to get started. However, you should always make sure to lift with proper technique. Make sure you start with an empty bar and work your way up from there.

* Kettlebell Training – It’s also a great strength builder. You build strength at odd angles and can do Olympic lifting style movements like snatch, clean and jerk etc. with much less training than with a bar. You can get relatively good at these exercises quickly. And if something goes wrong, there’s less weight to drop on you or the ground.

2. Always use free weights – Avoid weight “machines” like the plague. The exercises that will make you stronger are done with a bar. Compound exercises like the squat, deadlift, bench press, and overhead press will do more for your strength levels and physique than anything else.

Here are some other reasons to lift with only free weights (specifically barbells):

* It’s safer: you’re not performing unnatural assisted movements like with machines. Barbells and free weights build strength in the movements where you need them. It also increases the strength of all your stabilizer muscles simultaneously.

* More efficient: Because you’re using more muscles (more stabilizers) to lift, press, and pull barbells and other free weights, you build more muscle with less effort.

* More Functional: When you lift heavy objects off the ground… over your head and explosively you are doing the same type of activities you do in real life. Which means that the strength you build in the gym will carry over to all areas of your life.

* All in One – You can do every exercise you can think of to get stronger, build muscle, burn fat and get fit with just a barbell and weights. You don’t need a ton of weight training equipment to take up a lot of space (great for a home gym).

* Kettlebells are like an entire gym, in just a couple of little iron balls. You need even less space for kettlebells, making them ideal for the home gym or traveling.

3. Always do compound exercises – you want to build strength and muscle in your whole body, so train it as a unit. The only exception to this is when you discover you have a muscle imbalance and then need to do isolation exercises to strengthen weak muscles and stretch “too tight” muscles (otherwise injury will result). For example:

* For the arms: don’t do triceps kickbacks or a lot of curls; Do push-ups, pull-ups, presses, and snatches.

* For the legs: do not do leg extensions or hamstring curls; do squats, kettlebell pistols, and deadlifts

* For your chest: Don’t do flys and pec deck – do bench press, overhead press and dips, etc.

4. Work your legacy. Lasted. – Squats and deadlifts are full-body exercises. Because of this, they help put muscle all over your body. (In fact, you can put muscle in your chest and arms by working out your legs.) Also, you don’t want to have “chicken legs” with a huge upper body. Give yourself something stable to stand on: strong legs.

You’ll look good once you can squat 1.5 times your bodyweight (won’t take long!) and can deadlift the same (or more likely 2 times).

5. Full-body workouts are the rule. – You need to do full body workouts. It is not necessary to do isolation exercises. Why not get the best bang for your buck? Why not get the most results in the gym for the least amount of time? Here are 7 reasons why full-body workouts are better for building muscle and losing fat.

If you play sports, you’ll be more athletic and perform better if you do full-body exercises. Kettlebells are great total body tools as many of the exercises you do with them like snatches, cleans and presses etc work the entire body.

6. Recover as hard as you exercise – The more you overtrain, the slower your progress will be. Also, the bigger your muscles, the more rest you will need. In fact, you can gain 30 pounds of muscle by exercising for just a TOTAL 4 hours – the key is recovery. Your muscles always grow OUTSIDE the gym, not INSIDE it. This is what you should focus on:

* Break. You don’t grow in the gym: do your three intense workouts in a week and get out there. Rest when you’re out of the gym. Meditation and relaxation are good because they reduce stress and cortisol levels, which helps you build muscle and burn fat. Think quality, not quantity when it comes to how much time you spend in the gym.

* Good sleep. Your body repairs itself when you sleep. Growth hormone and testosterone levels increase during deep sleep. Get 8 hours of good sleep if possible. However, deep sleep is more important than quantity. If you can take a quick 20-minute nap after working out, that’s great.

* Eat enough. Your body needs food to fuel itself and recover. Eat healthy (more on that in a bit).

*Drinking water. I try a gallon a day. Drink at least 2 cups at each meal. You need plain water to stay hydrated, and it’s great for a million other reasons, too.

7. Eat clean. You want muscle weight, not fat weight, right? eat clean. Anything in a box is BAD. Just accept it. Schedule one “cheat day” per week so you don’t go crazy trying to eat clean. Indulge in the foods you’re trying to give up that are bad for you that day, that way you’ll get sick of them and not want to eat them for the rest of the week. Perfection is hard to come by, so try to eat right 80% of the time. You need (in order of importance):

* Protein: Lean beef, chicken, eggs, whey protein and milk…

* Vegetables. broccoli, tomatoes, spinach, etc…

* Fats. Fish Oil, Olive Oil, Real Butter, Nuts, etc…

* Fruit. Bananas, apples, oranges, avocados, etc…

* Carbohydrates. Whole grain and brown, no starches, except after training.

8.Supplement – Some people don’t think you need supplements, I say our food supplies suck for nutrition. What should you take…

* Whey Protein – Helps you get protein (more on that in a bit)…

* Fish Oil: It is the best supplement for absolutely everything related to health.

* Green Superfood/Drink – For the plant-based/green goodness you need

* Multivitamin – to get all your vitamins AND minerals

* Enzyme formula: for faster recovery and better overall health

* Creatine: to quickly build muscle and many other health benefits.

9. Focus on protein. It is said that you need 1 gram per pound of body weight to build muscle. I’ve never been able to do that consistently, and I still build muscle and burn fat, but always focus on protein (not a protein-free meal in my mind). Also, protein has a greater thermic effect than other macronutrients, so it’s also good for fat loss. Here are good sources of protein:

*Red meat. Round ground, steaks, deer, buffalo,…

* Poultry. Chicken breast, whole chicken, turkey, duck,…

* Fish. Tuna, salmon, flooder, etc.

* Whole eggs. (yes, even the yolk). Or make 80/20, 80 percent white, 20 percent yolk

* Dairy products. Milk, cheese, yogurt and whey protein…

10. Never give up – Don’t get frustrated if you don’t get results right away. Stay positive, a positive mental attitude is a must. Focus on the basics, get stronger, take baby steps, and before you know it, you’ll have come a long way. Subscribe to this site and check back often for more tips to help you.

7 Principles for Exceptional Performance: Case Study – Blue Skies in Ghana

There is an old proverb that says: from small acorns tall oaks grow. Businesses start with an idea and some grow into successful businesses. In 1997, a small group of UK businessmen, together with Ghanaian business partners, established the Blue Skies fruit processing factory in Ghana. The concept involved tropical fruit processing, cooling and airfreight to the UK and elsewhere in Europe. Passenger planes flew from Accra each night with capacity for additional cargo, so transport was available.

Business success is based on a clear vision, but this must be backed by proactive behavior and effective action. During the first year there was a need to identify and overcome obstacles that would have prevented the new company from reaching critical mass. As in many business situations, progress is much easier if stakeholders are identified, potential problems are avoided, and resources are focused effectively. With a brand new operation, systems need to be put in place. By 1998, the Blue Skies business had begun exporting products.

One point to keep in mind is that Blue Skies, like all businesses, required a team of people to overcome teething problems and help grow the business. Initially, there was a need to confirm the potential market, clarify the essential steps in the distribution process, and identify how to build the factory. In almost every organization, it is beneficial to look at the network of connections that contribute to successful results. This is becoming increasingly important in modern business.

The Blue Skies story provides a useful example of successful investment in a developing economy. The start-up highlights issues related to individual initiative, teamwork and personal resilience. There was also a need to appreciate the broader social and cultural context. Tea World Bank Sustainable Agriculture Group included Blue Skies in a guide to making value chains work in agribusiness in sub-Saharan Africa.

The guide noted that since 2000, the company has grown tremendously, expanding its value chain by adding additional operations to its processing facilities. She goes on to point out that Several factors contribute to the success of Blue Skies…such as high levels of trust, information sharing, innovation, value addition, collaborative positioning, and risk mitigation. Blue Skies emphasizes timely payment to farmers, provision of training and education on EurepGAP standards, farmer certification, interest-free loans for dedicated farmers, and a willingness to improve local road infrastructure to improve access to farms for company trucks.

Looking back to 1997, we can see the steps that enabled a small start-up company to grow into a multinational operation with production facilities in multiple countries. The vision provides the starting point, but other guiding principles also contribute to long-term success.

10 secrets of highly lucrative video marketing

I started compiling a bunch of statistics to show you how popular video marketing is getting.

And then it hit me: The last thing you need is more statistics on how video is taking over the internet.

The fact is, if you’re not already using video, you’re losing customers, customers, and revenue.

Consumers love videos. They watch the video. They ENJOY the video.

They even enjoy video when the video sells something, as long as the video still entertains and informs.

So how can you use more video in your business?

And how can you make those videos work as well as possible to get your viewers to take action?

Here are ten tips to get you started in the right direction:

1: Make your video about the story, not the sale.

Anyone can make a sales video and put it on YouTube. “Buy my product!” But will you get views? Not likely.

Instead, tell stories and deliver value. Let’s say you’re selling a course on marketing for chiropractic offices.

It’s tempting to tell the viewer why your course is great, why it’s exactly what they need, and how it’s only available for a limited time.

But what if you make a series of short videos, each providing a powerful marketing tip just for chiropractors?

I guarantee those videos will be seen and shared among the chiropractic community.

You will establish massive credibility. And of course, you can politely refer them to your website at the end of each video.

These videos will not sell your course for you.

But what they will do is make it much easier to get the sale.

Think of it as making the customer fall in love…

First, you take them on a date or two or three…

AND THEN you close the sale.

Your success rate will be much higher than if you try to close the sale while the two of you are still strangers.

2: Make the first 10 seconds the BEST 10 seconds ever

One statistic says that 20% of viewers will click away from a video within the first 10 seconds.

Now you must ask yourself: why would they do that?

They came to see something, but leave almost immediately.

There could be a few reasons:

Your video doesn’t seem to be what they expected. If they come from a link that says “iPad for free!” and your video is about growing organic vegetables, you’re going to miss them. Continuity is key here.

· You have a long, boring “Look at me!” intro You’ve seen those intros where it’s 30 seconds of how great the company is, the creator of the video, the brand, or whatever. The problem is that nobody cares except the person who made the video. Lose the long intro.

You entertain yourself. Taking the first minute of the video to finish setting up your recording equipment is a big mistake.

· You don’t start with a bang. You want to get right to the heart of the matter by quickly laying out what’s going on and then making it happen.

Think of movies from the ’50s, ’60s, and even ’70s: they all had long, boring intros filled with lots of credits and no action.

Now think about today’s movies: from the first moment there is action; something that captures your attention and makes you want to pay attention to know what is happening, why it is happening and what is going to happen next.

When it comes to writing fiction, teachers often tell their students to cut out the first page or two, because they are usually full of long, boring introductions to set up the opening scene. But when you cut that out and start with the action, BOOM: the reader is wowed.

The videos are the same way. Start with the good stuff and let it get better from there.

3: Don’t be so serious.

Your video may be to inform and instruct, but that doesn’t mean you have to sound like a boring, stuffy college professor.

Find ways to inject fun and humor into your presentations. This does not mean injecting knock knock jokes that have nothing to do with the topic at hand. Instead, find humor in what you are teaching or talking about. It’s always there, you just have to look for it.

Now I know that when you get in front of a camera, if you’re like most people, you get nervous. And when you get nervous, you may not be able to find the humor in anything, except perhaps your own nervousness.

I can tell you three things: if you practice beforehand in front of a friend, you’ll be surprised at what fun things come to mind. Go ahead and test your humor on your friend and listen to their feedback. They will tell you which parts and which to skip.

Second, when you’re shooting, continue to think of the camera as your friend. You’re just having a friendly conversation, regardless of whether you’re on camera or using slides.

Third, have fun. If you’re having fun, chances are the viewer is having fun too.

4: It’s good to be human

No one really likes someone who is perfect, or even someone who seems perfect. That’s why it’s okay to make mistakes on camera.

If you’re nervous or if you do something wrong, own up to it and move on. For example, you drop something you were showing to the viewer. Laugh it, pick it up, make a joke about your nerves or your butter fingers or whatever, and move on.

It’s funny when we admit to the audience that we are human and that we can laugh at our own weakness: the audience starts to like us more and support us too.

I even know people who purposely make a mistake or do something clumsy, just to get the audience on their side.

It is a truly effective technique when done right.

5: Tell embarrassing stories about yourself

As an extension of the last point, use yourself as an example of what not to do. Let’s say you’re teaching dating advice. You want to tell viewers what not to do. Instead of saying, “You should never, ever do this or that just because it annoys the other person,” say this:

“I was on a date once and I made the dumbest possible mistake. What happened was…”

And then you go on to tell a story about yourself doing something stupid or wrong or whatever.

Note that now instead of reading to the viewer, you are sharing a valuable story about how you made a mistake.

This does a couple of things…

It teaches the viewer in a way that they will remember, because people remember the stories much better than the lessons.

And it’s yet another chance to show how human you are and make the audience love you even more.

But what if you’ve never made that mistake yourself?

It’s up to you, but I don’t see any harm in telling the story from your point of view anyway. Again, it’s a highly effective teaching method, and everyone loves someone who can laugh at themselves.

Just look at the comedians: they continually tell the audience about the things they’ve done that weren’t too brilliant. And the public loves them for it.

6: Optimize your videos for search

Here are some tips for doing just that:

If you can, host your video on your own domain first, before uploading it to sharing sites. This has the potential to get people to link to your own domain, which will also help your overall SEO efforts.

Enable embedding for your video to increase the likelihood of receiving inbound links.

Add your videos to your sitemap to give Google information about your video. This gives Google useful metadata that can improve Google’s ability to include your video in search results. Here is a useful page to tell you how https://developers.google.com/webmasters/videosearch/sitemaps.

Use tags for relevant keywords. Write full descriptions and add a unique title.

And remember this: if you have a chart, Google needs you to fill it in to help you rank.

7: Educate your audience

Some of the best videos you’ve ever made that your prospects and customers will love, or videos that teach your viewers something useful.

Whether it’s getting the result they want, showing them how to best use your product, or providing helpful tips, people enjoy short “how to” videos that teach them what they want to know, when they want to know it.

Which, of course, means that you need them to find you when they’re looking. To do that, go back to no. #6 and make sure your video shows up in the right SEO searches.

8: Let your customers speak for you

Social proof is best done by your customers on your behalf. For example, you can ask customers to film themselves talking about how they use and love your product.

Case studies are a great way to showcase your product while teaching your audience how to achieve the result they want.

Your customer can talk about their buying decision, what might have stopped them from buying, and why they went ahead and got the product.

They can then talk about the results of using the product, the specific features they like, and the biggest benefits of using the product.

A good customer testimonial or case study can be worth an entire sales letter when it comes to converting new prospects into customers.

9: Add a call to action

Regardless of the type of video you’re making, don’t forget to add a call to action at the end. It could be visiting your website, going to a landing page for a free report, checking out a sales page, or whatever.

Just remember that your videos should be 90-95% great content and only 5-10% sales.

10: Add a Video to Your Landing Pages to Increase Conversions

Naturally, you’ll want to try this, but you’ll most likely see a nice boost in your conversions on your landing page if you add a short video.

The video should quickly introduce you and let them know what they get when they subscribe. Make it viewer friendly and fun, and try to inject a bit of humor.

Above all, give a very clear and immediate benefit by signing up for your list and getting your free offer.

I know a salesperson who has never sold anything on his videos. All he does is provide helpful advice, tell silly stories about his industry, and act as a helpful friend to his viewers.

And their sales are through the roof. Why? Because people love him and trust him.

The video is not difficult. What is hard is sometimes relaxing enough to just be ourselves and lend a helping hand or advice to the viewer.

Flat Fee MLS Listing, The Pros And Cons

  1. What is a fixed fee Multiple Listing Service (MLS) listing?

The MLS is a comprehensive database shared by local real estate agents. Agents can access this database to find exactly what their buyers are looking for. This resource gives real estate agents a significant advantage over anyone selling on their own. In fact, more than 90% of buyers find their new homes through the MLS.

Real estate companies that offer flat fee MLS listings will submit the information and images to the MLS for a fee ranging from $99 to $995 depending on the level of services provided. However, a fee is typically offered to an agent who brings in a buyer. This fee can be any amount by law, but is generally 2-2 ½% compared to 6-9% charged for full-service listings.

  1. What is the difference between flat fee listings and full service real estate agent listings?

The owner assumes duties generally provided by a real estate agent. These include taking pictures, providing promotional copies, gathering information about the property, identifying repairs and improvements that will promote the sale and increase return on investment, deciding on the best marketable price, monitoring the market, price adjustments if and when necessary. necessary, showing, negotiating with buyers directly, obtaining legal advice, facilitating inspections, possible renegotiation and whatever is necessary to bring the sale to closing.

  1. What services do flat fee brokers usually provide? In addition to adding your listing to the regional MLS, the listing is typically distributed to dozens of portal websites such as Zillow, Trulia, Homes.com, AOLrealestate.com, etc. more local real estate companies directly. The owner provided images that are added to the MLS and portal sites. A sign and/or lock box is usually provided. Some companies offer free renewals or listings that do not expire. If you are available in the area, companies often provide appointment center services that provide a convenient means of scheduling visits. With higher price listing packages, more services are added.
  2. What are the disadvantages of flat fee listings? Selling by owner is a lot of work. More than half of successful homeowners report that they would not try to sell on their own again. This is because, in addition to the work involved, it may not improve your return on investment. Real estate agents have years of hard-earned experience. If they cannot normally provide their clients with a better return on their investment than the owners themselves, they would not survive in the profession. In addition to the logistics that a homeowner can reasonably handle, a great deal of judgment is required. One misstep and the deal often falls through. Inexperience, even in new licensed real estate agents, can cost thousands of dollars or an entire sale. Most brokerage firms provide close supervision and training to their new brokers for at least the first year. The owner does not have this essential advantage. Flat fee brokers who offer remote support cannot do so with the same expertise as a real estate agent who has personal knowledge of the local market and property. Lastly, be careful not to invoke pimping claims.

Despite the work and uncertainty involved, many sellers manage to sell on their own using the resources of flat fee brokers to greatly maximize their home investment.

  1. How to proceed.

Contact a reputable flat fee MLS broker you can speak with directly to answer specific questions. This short article can only provide an overview of the process.

While sales by owner packages vary from broker to broker, here are some important considerations:

  • The broker must have experience and knowledge of local market conditions to provide immediate guidance and advice.

The first watch is first class

First Watch Restaurant began serving breakfast and lunch in 1983 from 7 am to 2:30 pm and is privately owned and franchised. In 2015 there were 153 franchised restaurants in 18 states. This past weekend my husband and I met our family for breakfast at First Watch at 9am in Newport News, VA. It was our fifth time at First Watch. We put our name on a waiting list where there were thirty-one people in front of us in a restaurant already packed with happy customers eating breakfast. They had coffee set up for people waiting to come in and several chairs and trainers to sit on.

With thirty-one people waiting, the waiters used military precision to push the tables together and seat and serve the first twenty-five people, and then the other groups. They were prepared and left nothing to chance. They practiced and rehearsed addressing these issues multiple times and were ready when their guests were done eating to immediately clean and reset tables and seat new guests.

Twenty-five servicemen were at the head of us. They were seated at 4 tables which were quickly set up by the staff with silver glasses etc. Then they sat down. Two waiters came over and took orders. Meanwhile, another group of six also formed up and were ushered to their table. Then it was our turn. We were seated at 9:15 am and shown to our table. The hostess saw the food on the chairs and went to get a soapy rag to clean it up.

We sat down and the table was set with everything you can think of. The energetic waiter came over with a smile and asked what drinks we wanted and he also took our order for omelettes, pancakes with vegetables and fruit. Our drinks arrived a few minutes later. Our server put a cup of fresh coffee and a cup of decaf on the table. Another waiter passed by with a jug of water. Fifteen minutes later our cooked breakfast arrived despite the restaurant continuing to fill up with many waiting to be seated and served.

Every few minutes the server would come to check on us and ask if we wanted more coffee, juice or any other drink and ask how the food was.

Next to our table the customers had left and a different waiter cleared the table, wiped it down and another brought clean cutlery, napkins and cups.

The First Watch servers cared and wanted to do a good job! The serving staff were well rehearsed and attentive to detail like a choreographed ballet. It was all intentional. Nothing was left to chance.

What three things did the First Watch waiters and waitresses do to show their customers “first class” service?

1) The waiters and waitresses had a positive attitude, smiled at their customers, and worked quickly and efficiently.

2) The serving staff immediately removed the dirty dishes after their customers left the table, then cleaned the table and set the table with everything their customers needed.

3) The waiters/waitresses worked as a team. One brought a pitcher of iced tea or water; another brought coffee, another soda, another brought food. Next to our table the customers had left and a different waiter cleared the table and wiped it down, another brought the silverware, napkins and cups.

Don’t leave your customer service to chance. Plan your customer service expectations ahead of time and rehearse how you want it done with your staff. Their standards for hiring are clear.

What are the three characteristics you look for in your employees?

1) Hire staff who have a proven track record of positive attitudes, are energetic, and are effective communicators who are passionate about the products they sell.

2) Hire staff who have a good work ethic (arrive on time), are patient and listen to what their customers need and want, and work efficiently and pay attention to detail.

3) Your staff have a leadership service attitude, work well as a team with military precision, and are willing to pitch in when the need arises, just as the hostess was willing to clear food off the chairs.

Where do you find your employees?

Keep your eyes and ears open for great team members for your business. Seek new opportunities.

First Watch has first class service every time we visit. To have “first class” customer service like “First Watch” in your business, follow their model and rehearse and practice with your team members.

COD 2 requires a certain amount of free disk space in order to be needed at runtime. If such free disk space is not available, the game often crashes with the Mss32.dll error.

Download a disk cleaning and PC optimizer software and click on System Cleaner | Cleansed.

effective ways of "Break the ice" After an argument with your partner

I will skip the chronological order of my “journey” (A Woman’s Journey) from childhood to the present. I would like to first answer a friend’s question “How to break the ice after a heated argument with a spouse without losing your pride?”

First of all, I wanted to say “thank you” for trusting me with this, and I hope all is well soon.

It’s natural to have an argument even (and especially) newlyweds. There is no guarantee that marriage will be the end of misunderstandings and relationship problems. Whether it’s a long or short engagement, it doesn’t guarantee that you and your spouse know all the nooks and crannies and deepest feelings of each other. You are two different people who agreed to start your journey together as husband and wife. It says “both,” which means they’re partners…in everything.

Living apart before the wedding and living together now are two different things. In any change, no matter how small the change, there will always be an adjustment.

The beginning of misunderstandings can be something small. Usually, it’s the way it’s pulled out that ignites the flame. The problem is; no one wanted to accept who is to blame. Why? Because of that culprit called “pride” that each one has, and nobody wanted to bow down. Each has their own reasons, and each believes that he is right.

How to fix this? Read and try these in your life:

· Establish house rules. Before marriage, both of you should establish some marriage rules in anticipation of any “problems”. If you haven’t done this before the marriage, it’s not too late to start doing it now. The rules should benefit both. You should not have authority. The rules should have the concept of strengthening the relationship and facilitating adjustments.

Write your feelings. The newlyweds are still hesitant or shy to express their feelings or thoughts (although it is one of the house rules: “say what you feel or think”) and you let the spouse read it alone. It is better, because the spouse can understand and think better if he has time to digest.

Say sorry. Maybe it’s hard, especially if you think you’re right. What if your partner thinks he is too? It’s hard to swallow your pride, but it’s worth it when he removes the wall between the two of you. Try saying it first and believe me, his spouse will say “I’m sorry too”. If he doesn’t, his pride is bigger than him and it spells trouble.

· Talk about the cause. When you’re both in the “kissing mood” again, talk about it. This will answer the “why”, the “how” and the “will” of the argument. Both of you can avoid misunderstanding on the same topic again.

· Avoid shouting matches. All this should be in the “house rules or marriage rules”. Arguments can also be called “brainstorming.” It’s not nice? Arguing means sharing what the other thinks, feels and wants. In this way, both of you will get to know each other better.

Note the shortcomings of each. Man and woman are created different. However, these differences must complement each other. The setting has no time frames. Every day, you learn something different from each other. Treat it positively, like “discovery.”

Point out or criticize with respect. No one will carefully tell a person their “negative” traits, only someone closest to their heart. Grow with each other. Enhance the “gifts” of others.

· Be nice and sweet. It’s not just at the “honeymoon” stage that the couple is sweet to each other. These pretty words and sweetness are the simple daily spices that will nurture your feelings for each other. Be kind even in your anger. Your spouse will love you more for these traits.

Help each other. There is a line of demarcation between man and woman. They should talk about it when Y What. However, the man who helps his wife with the house does not diminish his “masculinity”, quite the contrary. The wife, especially if she is capable, can help her man with her work through suggestions and research. She even with her just listen, she helps and shares the workloads of her husband.

Have a good time together. Being together at home is quite fun, but doing something outside of it is too nice and healthy. Playing sports or going out even once a week is healthy for you and your relationship.

There are so many books and friends that offer advice and ways to make a marriage work. However, it is in the hands of the “players” that victory lies. The type of foundation plays an important role in the success of the marriage. Love and respect are the best foundations that make any relationship lasting.

I wish everyone, especially this particular friend, a long and happy marriage.
