Are you one of the millions of people who love bagels for breakfast or bread for dinner? Let’s face it, bread is one of the staples in the food chain that has sustained the hungry for centuries.

Why then is there so much talk about the adverse effects of gluten consumption? Bread is supposed to be good for you, right? This may be true for most people, but not for others who experience symptoms like bloating and diarrhea. Some of my patients even complain of fatigue, weight loss, and perhaps muscle and joint pain. When I dig deeper into your eating habits to determine the cause of your problem, nine times out of ten I find that your symptoms are related to gluten sensitivity.

What is gluten sensitivity and how do you know if you have it? If you ask yourself this question, you are not alone. Let me explain.

“Gluten” is a family of proteins found in wheat along with oats, rye, and barley. Gluten sensitivity is caused by an immune reaction to gluten. A simple blood test can determine if you have specific antibodies against gluten. An inherited form of gluten sensitivity is called celiac disease and may affect up to 1 in 133 people. Celiac disease is often diagnosed by a biopsy of the small intestine, which can reveal physical damage. Other forms of gluten sensitivity or allergy can develop as people age.

What happens if you keep eating gluten?

Some of the symptoms of gluten sensitivity are felt in the digestive tract. Others are more general. The body releases chemicals during many immune responses that can cause vague symptoms of joint pain, fatigue, and muscle pain.

If the gluten-sensitive person continues to eat gluten-containing foods, the body will continue to produce antibodies against gluten. This immune reaction causes physical damage to the lining of the small intestine and makes it difficult for the body to absorb nutrients. This leads to diarrhea and weight loss. If left unchecked, the damage can become life-threatening. Fortunately, the small intestine has the ability to regenerate healthy cells and will recover over time if gluten is removed from the diet.

What if you are sensitive to gluten?

Here are some things you can do if you suspect you might have some of the symptoms described above:

• Consult your doctor and request a blood test to determine if you are sensitive to gluten.

• Look for foods made with oats, quinoa, rice, corn, millet, and amaranth.

• Prepared foods, such as frozen macaroni and cheese, will indicate the gluten content on the package.

• Website for local gluten-free recipes, products, and support groups are available online.

• Ask your market to offer walkthroughs that highlight gluten-free items on the shelves.

• Ask your local market to expand gluten-free options.

• Restaurants and cruise ships often have gluten-free options for pizza, pasta, and bread.

• With gluten sensitivity becoming more widely known, it is possible that if you order gluten-free food when you dine out, other members of your group will order it as well.

• If temptation is a problem, have the baskets of cookies and bread removed after the other guests have served themselves.

Keep your digestive tract healthy!

Once you eliminate gluten and your digestive tract is healing, there are ways to keep it running smoothly. Eat a variety of healthy fruits and vegetables. In the evening, drink a glass of water with a tablespoon of psyllium husks mixed in. This adds fiber and helps remove unwanted material from the body. Yogurt can help restore the balance of intestinal bacteria, which is important for digesting food.

The damage caused by gluten sensitivity can interfere with the body’s ability to process food. Your digestive system may need help getting back to health. Here are some natural ways to help with healing.

Combine your liquids and spices in a small bowl and set aside. Roast your peppers; Chop your cilantro-parsley mixture; peel and chop the tomatoes.
Finally, peel the avocado and reserve. Mix together your liquid/spice mix and toss lightly with your avocado, chili, cilantro and tomato mix, enjoy with warm, thinly sliced ​​bread or taco chips!

2-3 ripe medium avocados—
3 roasted yellow chiles, peeled, chopped and seeded, if yellow is not available use large long green or even red chiles.

How Codependents Leave Abusive Narcissistic Relationships

You may feel crazy because you love a narcissist and you are afraid to leave the abusive relationship. It will be easier to help you out the more you know about codependency and narcissistic personality disorder. Abusive narcissists need someone who is willing to meet their needs and give up their own desires. Narcissists are self-destructive people with hidden low self-esteem and insatiable needs for attention and nothing to give. They become parasitically attached to a generous and caring person who avoids center stage and thrives on caring for others.

Expecting something from an abusive narcissist who has nothing to give can make a codependent feel crazy. Trying to pretend that the narcissist is someone they are not can drive you crazy. Many codependents have spent years dealing with reality about particular people in their past and present. Codependents spend years trying to get someone to love them (ie mom/dad) in a certain way, when that person can’t or won’t.

The development of codependency is rooted in dysfunctional family systems and occurs over a fairly long period of time. Overly rigid, dogmatic, or authoritarian families in which there may or may not be alcohol abuse or dependence appear to produce codependency. These families tend to emphasize discipline and control where rewards are given for adherence to strict and often illogical rules. Children learn that any positive feeling about themselves depends on someone else’s mood. These families may seem perfect to the neighbors, but there is a lot of pain and secrecy behind closed doors. Children learn early not to express their thoughts or feelings and to ignore behavior problems in the family. This family survival response effectively increases the child’s tolerance for emotionally abusive and inappropriate behavior from others.

As adults, these children are more likely to become involved in abusive and hurtful relationships with people who are untrustworthy, emotionally unavailable, or in need. Not entitled to their feelings, these adult children tend to be indirect about their needs, deny feelings, and mistrust intimacy. They start with the belief that love is sacrificing for my partner and putting up with what my partner wants to dish out. This is a trap to make the abusive relationship more important than you are to yourself. In general, codependents feel constantly dissatisfied in relationships and are the ones who tend to get deeply trapped in purgatory with an abusive narcissist.

If you’re a codependent in a relationship with an abusive narcissist and you’re wondering, “Why do I feel so crazy?” It’s time to let go of the narcissist. It’s time to let him or her off the hook. Like your caregivers, the abusive narcissist is constitutionally incapable of loving you. That doesn’t mean you can’t love that person anymore. It means that you are ready to feel the immense relief that comes when you stop denying reality and start accepting it. You release the abusive narcissist so he can be who he really is. You stop trying to make that person someone they are not. You deal with your feelings and move away from the destructive attachment. You stop letting what you don’t get from the abusive narcissist control you and take responsibility for your life. So you start the process of loving and caring for yourself.

Get angry, feel hurt, and land in a place of self-forgiveness. Your life in purgatory will end. You will no longer be a victim of abuse. You will acknowledge that you have been mistreated and you will allow yourself to be mistreated. You will no longer create, seek or recreate situations that victimized you. You are in your power and you no longer live in silent despair.

There is no better laser

Despite what you probably hear, there is no best laser or IPL treatment for everyone. Which one is used depends on several factors, including your concerns, as well as the effectiveness and safety of the treatment. When I was teaching a metaphysics course, I came across an obscure term called a zapper. Today, we think of a zapper as an electronic device. But when I was teaching that course, the term, zapper, was used to define people who drained all your energy, sucking the life force out of you.

One of the things I liked to do with my students was to experiment with metaphysical concepts and discuss the various ways we can incorporate spiritual theories into our everyday lives. Having figured out the zapper concept, I had everyone experiment with it. I gave them the task of making a list of the people who made them feel energized and the people who made them feel tired, and of course I made my own lists.

The results were amazing. We all found that we were surrounded by people who could invigorate us and people who sucked our life force away.

If this was just a matter of staying away from zappers and just having friends to make us feel alive, it would be easy to do. Just start to yawn or feel your brain blur and make a strategic retreat. But, like most things in life, that’s not easy to do.

Your boss or teacher could be a zapper and your options for a strategic retreat are limited. It should also be noted that not everyone is affected by the same zappers that you are. One person can drain your energy but make another feel alive, and vice versa.

At the time I was doing these experiments with my students, I had just acquired a new customer. She was beautiful, smart, interesting, and had a good sense of humor, but every time I was with her, my energy level went down the drain. It didn’t matter if she called me on the phone or she came to my office, the results were the same. He was so exhausted that he could have slept for a century. Eventually, I referred her to someone else because she was always too tired to give her the kind of help she deserved.
