Protex Safes has teamed up their HD-73 burglar safe with their recently released DRW-23 safe to build the HDR-83 fireproof burglar safe. By incorporating two safes into one, safe owners have the convenience of a drawer safe on top and a regular safe on the bottom.

Both the Drawer Safe and Regular Safe come standard with a velor lining, which is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, on all walls and shelves. The lining not only makes the inside of burglar safes look good on the eye, but it is also functional, allowing expensive watches and jewelry to be placed on the shelves without fear of scratching or damage. The HDR-83 Anti-Theft Safe’s top drawer provides convenient and secure storage for small everyday items, while the bottom safe protects larger valuables.

The top drawing of the HDR-83 Fireproof Burglar Safe is essentially an electronic safe that is opened by entering a code using the electronic keypad. The flat digital keyboard comes with an LED screen; a mechanical key override and a managers override code that can be changed at any time. Once the correct code is entered, the draw automatically jumps and then, for easy access, the draw can be pulled out completely. The regular bottom safe features the DigiPaz battery powered high security electronic lock. To access the velvet-lined interior, simply enter the correct six-digit code and turn the handle. In those cases where the battery has been discharged, a power override cable is supplied. The ends of the override cable are inserted into the two holes located below the keypad, a battery is attached to the other end, and the six-digit code is entered as normal.

Theft protection for HDR-83 burglar safes is provided by a puncture-resistant hard plate, four half-inch anchor bolts to secure the safe to the floor, and a two-and-a-half-inch-thick door. . The door is made of solid three-eighths-inch steel plate to prevent prying, and for added security, these burglar-resistant safes come with concealed hinges. A fire coating provides thirty minutes of fire protection.

Having a weight of 209 pounds requires this safe to be installed on a well-constructed bench or flat floor. HDR-83 safes have 3.38 cubic feet of security storage in the bottom compartment, 0.45 cubic feet in the drawer, and exterior dimensions of 19″ (W) x 37-3/8″ (H) x 15 -5/8″ (D).

While the HDR-83 fireproof burglar safes are the most expensive in the Protex stable of fireproof burglar safes on the market, these quality, well-built safes are competitively and affordably priced.
