The problem with all script books is that they are mostly written by people who haven’t written a single script or couldn’t sell any that they did.

I don’t know too many successful screenwriters who also write books describing how to do it. They probably don’t have time to do both.

Having said that, I still think we are blessed by all the wide variety of screenwriting books out there. I probably own at least thirty of them in my own private library. They are inspiring and some of them also hit certain things over the head.

“How to Write a Movie in 21 Days” by Viki King is an old classic. It is very practical, detailed and inspiring. And it also barely scratches the surface of the great art of screenwriting.

As the book’s title suggests, King claims that he can teach you how to write a screenplay in just 3 weeks if you have the gist in your heart and mind.

The structure you propose and your detailed instructions on how to write pages 1, 3, 10, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, and 120 of your script can point novice writers in the right direction.

Here is a list of common health problems that people face today: heart disease, cancer, pain and arthritis, diabetes, obesity, digestive problems, allergies, asthma, sleeping problems, headaches, and the list goes on. For most of these problems, we don’t have to live with them, we can alleviate the symptoms and prevent further problems or illness. Another big problem today is stress. Stress is a killer. We know that stress negatively affects the body and is related to high blood pressure. We don’t have to accept stress and health problems as our “normal.” Let’s make a new normal, and that is “optimal health”!

Let us begin
We need to visualize the health we want and how we want to feel. This vision is now our goal, let’s write it down. Step 1 – Whole Food Nutrition

If we want to have energy, without bloating, without heartburn, without pain or headaches, we must focus on eating a diet that consists mainly of whole foods. Whole foods are foods that have one ingredient; themselves. These are foods like: potatoes, carrots, oatmeal, rice, beans, broccoli, cucumbers, eggs, fish, apples, bananas, berries, etc., you understand. Eat foods that are full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants (a substance that protects our cells). This doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy those other processed treats, but they shouldn’t make up the bulk of our diet. Think of the 80/20 rule for your nutrition, 80% whole nutritious foods, 20% sweets. We must be present, free, clear and at peace.

– read personal development books – increase your awareness and understanding of yourself and others. One of my favorite books is called The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer.

– practice meditation to reduce stress
– try energy work or alternative therapies – Reiki, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, aromatherapy, classical homeopathy, etc.

Step 5 – Sleep
Sleep is a beautiful thing. We need sleep to rest, recover, repair and have renewed energy. If getting a good night’s sleep is a problem for you, then consider something called sleep hygiene (see below).

Here are the steps in this section:
– establish a sleep schedule – get into the habit of going to bed at the same time every night, even if you don’t fall asleep right away
– turn off all light – sleep in complete darkness, this even means putting your alarm clock behind a cupboard door or in a drawer
– turn down the thermostat – some people find it easier to sleep in a cooler temperature
– keep a journal nearby – if your best ideas come to you at 11 pm, write them down so you can forget about them until tomorrow

Outdoor activities in the region are plentiful and include quad biking, swings, rafting, hot air ballooning, scenic helicopter flights, hiking and horseback riding. Obviously, with the Kruger National Park only 25km away, you can also enjoy day game in your own vehicle. Pack a picnic lunch and spend the day wandering the park observing our fascinating African wildlife.
