It was quite revealing, and while also quite brief, it gave me a sense of what one side of my ancestral chain was like, or those distant aunts and uncles, and grandparents from, where.

The tale was shelved with many others in an interesting read titled; “Creative Fiction, The Universal Chord” Volume number 9, edited by Lee Gutkind, published by the Creative Nonfiction Foundation, 1998, 132 pages, ISSN: 1070-0714.

The title of the story is; “Rural Nobody” by Jill Carpenter.

In fact, I was immediately struck by the reality of the main character, an elderly father and grandfather living in an apartment while his health was failing, but he wouldn’t quit smoking. He reflected on what it would have been like if he had been born 50 years later, he was born in 1907. If that had happened, it would have prevented the flu pandemic, two world wars, the bank failure and much more. Still, he marveled at the fact that his life spanned from horse and carriage to the space age.

He wondered how life could have been different, among other things, you see, he didn’t have Alzheimer’s and was as sharp as a whip, with an almost perfect memory for most things; names, dates and history. Her daughters cared for him, one lived near her and she saw to it that he lived comfortably and was taken care of, she even worried that she didn’t have what she needed when she took her family on vacation to Hawaii.

As I was reading this story, I was taken to that place and I realized that a lot of the stories and lifestyle of that generation is gone, they haven’t been given their due online, because when he died at the end of the The 1990s Internet didn’t have all these social networks and much of that entire time period may have been lost. Sure it exists in non-fictional biographies here and there, but not all of it, and not to the extent that life is recorded online today. I think maybe it’s a story worth reading and the author of that piece is talented.

How To Go From Homeless To Billionaire In 90 Days Or Less

Here’s the article that shows you how to go from totally broke and homeless to a billionaire in 90 days or less.

Step 1) You are homeless, so you find a place to live. Under a bridge or at a homeless shelter or you run into a friend and ask if you can sleep on her couch. (time: 2 days)

Step 2) Try to get whatever small advantage you can. That means anything from a) borrowing from friends’ family. b) get welfare c) find where you can get a free meal d) work some temp jobs e) maybe buy and sell something for quick money ie: scalp tickets at a game or something f) make your resume and posted online and in print. (time: 2 days)

Step 3) At this point, let’s say you’re at least barely stable. Even though you’re still jobless. So you start applying for a job. It makes it a challenge to see how many places you can apply or interview per day. Like the winner of the Guinness Book of World Records for applying to 500 places per day and interviewing at 10 of those places daily. As if you turned it into a marathon. You literally apply for “any job” within your city. Anything from the CEO to McDonalds. And you set yourself the goal of having a job in 1 week or less. 2 maximum (time: 2 weeks)

Step 4) By now not a month has passed and you have a place to stay and you have a job. You receive your first salary. At that point, your time on your friends couch or at the homeless shelter will be over. So you say goodbye and find someone who is renting a room in her house for very little money. You rent that and move in. (time: 2 weeks)

Step 5) With your next paycheck, you buy a used computer and start using it after work. You work 8 hours, you sleep 8 hours, that gives you 8 hours to surf the web. So use that time to start learning how to invest in real estate. Just study everything and anything you can find about real estate investing on the net. Your goal is to become “an expert” in real estate investments. You join all the real estate clubs in the area. You find a real estate mentor. You buy a good real estate home study course. He uses his travel time to listen to audio on real estate investments, etc. (time: 2 weeks)

Step 6) You start networking with other real estate investors. And go the extra mile to meet the biggest players in the real estate investment club. You make up some business cards. Exchange with them and meet them. You try to get one of the biggest players to be your mentor. That is done simply by making friends with them. So you start making connections.
And start looking for potential investment properties on online MLS listing sites. (time: 1 week)

Step 7) You keep saving money from your day job, you keep networking, you keep learning about real estate investing, and you keep working on your story. You have now saved enough to start your real estate business. You print some business cards. Buy a cheap $500 because that will matter. A cheap suit. A cheap briefcase. And place an ad in your local newspaper and online classifieds that says something like: “Get a 10-15% annual return on investment. Your name on the title deed gives you a 100% sure return guarantee. Call at 555-555-5555”. (time: 2 weeks)

Step 8) You will start receiving calls from interested investors. You want to find someone who has money and good credit. that you don’t have yet. When they call they ask “what is this about?”. You say, “I’m a real estate investor. I buy houses that would be great to invest in or rent. I have several great investments right now. Can you sit me down for coffee and I’ll show you some of them, how about the Tuesday at 3 pm sounds?”. You meet them. You park your cheap $500 rusty old car at the end of the block so the customer won’t see it. (ha ha) He meets the angel investor (client) and shows him some of the listings he printed from the MLS that he has already considered to be good investments. You ask the client to contribute the money and the credit to obtain the mortgage. That’s part of the investment. Your part will be to orchestrate the investment of the house. So you say to the client, “Look, I’m an expert on these things. You put up the money and secure the mortgage on the property, I’ll do the rest in terms of cosmetics and the investment of the house. So once we sell the property , we’ll split the profits 50/50. You show them how their ROI will be much higher than the 15% you originally promised. How they’ll be on title as an owner so they’re 100% sure.” He also associates with real estate club people who offer this deal. You may have to talk to 100 people to find 1 that will bite. (time: 2 weeks)

Step 9) You have found your angel investor. Get them to agree to work with you in writing. You get verification of your ability to finance the deal and you have the credit to obtain the mortgage. Next, find a house that would make a great move. Get them to provide the down payment funds. You tie the property. You have the investor go see your mortgage broker to get a mortgage on the property. You have your attorney draw up the paperwork that also secures your part of the project in writing, so that when the property is sold, he will get half of the funds. So that both you and the investor know in writing what your commitments are. (time: 2 weeks)

Step 10) You buy the house. One that doesn’t need tons of reindeer. So you mow the lawn, paint the front, give it a deep clean. Put it on stage. List it again. And flip it for a very healthy gain. After all expenses, his investment paid off reasonably well and he made a net profit of $40,000. Your angel investor receives $20k and you receive $20k. Now that your angel investor is happy and has some trust with you, you start working with them on a regular basis. Just rinse and repeat. You get them to do another and another with you. You flip it over and this time you pocket the full $40k. Just keep doing that now. You flip another 10 properties. $40k x 10 = $400k. At this point, you convert your operation to a much larger scale. You hire some novice real estate investors to work with you. You train each of them to go out and find deals. You finance them. They do the work of flipping them. And you pay them a salary plus a small commission on successful launch. Now, with a team, you can do at least one flip every week. So, in no time, you will see monthly earnings of more than 100,000.

Proven reliability of the Zongshen Cyclone RX3

The Cyclone RX3 distributed by CSC Motorcycles was introduced with an inaugural group ride through Baja Mexico in April 2015. This ride took 15 adventurous motorcycle riders on a 1,700-mile round trip through the Baja Peninsula and beyond. return to the CSC offices in Azusa, California. In all, the 15 new Cyclone RX3 motorcycles racked up 25,500 miles with only a few minor problems.

This first promotional ride was followed by the “Western Adventure Tour” in July 2015. Here, 10 riders from Columbia, China and the US racked up a total of 50,000 miles on 10 new bikes. This epic journey inspired the book, 5,000 miles at 8,000 rpm by Joe Berk, CSC spokesman. Once again, there were no major mechanical issues with the new CSC Cyclone RX3 bikes that were ridden hard for 18 days at speeds up to 75mph and at times over 400 miles per day. Tour riders (and machines) encountered subzero temperatures of over 100 degrees and elevations from sea level to 9,000 feet on the continental divide.

These rides conclusively demonstrated the durability of the RX3 adventure bike. But the attractions also pointed to some improvements that would be needed in later shipments of the CSC Cyclone RX3, including upgrades to the standard 12-volt batteries. The rides further helped finalize the recommended maintenance schedule for North American bike owners.

But the RX3 motorcycle was tested before it was available for sale in North America. The bike has been sold in China for a number of years and is also sold in many other countries under multiple brand names. For example, the same basic bike is sold in Belarus as the M1nsk TRX300i and in Central America as the AKT Moto TT250. In fact, Zongshen’s largest motorcycle market is in Columbia. Motorcycle sales exceed 700,000 units per year in Columbia, compared to less than 500,000 total motorcycle sales in the United States.

It is also interesting that the most popular motorcycles in Colombia are only 100cc to 125cc. A 250cc motorcycle is considered huge! The best-selling machine is a 100cc motorcycle made in India. The Zongshen/AKT Moto version sold at Columbia is called the TT250 and is considered a high quality upgrade and exudes prestige.

What is a M1nsk?

The M1nsk motorcycle company originated in 1951 when the USSR took control of German DKW motorcycles as part of World War II reparations. The company moved to Moscow and manufactured motorcycles under the M1A brand. Eventually the factory moved to Belarus, where they built Minsk-branded bikes. From the earliest years, the Minsk brand has been actively involved in motorsport, especially motocross and circuit racing. The Minsk-Pamir (1969) and Brest-Vladivostok (1971) rallies became iconic milestones in the history of the Minsk brand. Building on this reputation, Minsk motorcycles became known for their durability and were exported to other European countries.

In 2007, the company went private and started using the M1nsk brand. Today, the M1nsk company produces retro-style snowmobiles, ATVs, scooters, ATVs and bicycles based on the designs of its vintage models from 1950.

How does the M1nsk TRX300i fit in? M1nsk does not manufacture the TRX300i adventure motorcycle. Instead, the TRX300i is a rebranded Chinese motorcycle, the Zongshen RX3. Zongshen is a modern manufacturer, founded in 1992, manufacturing more than 1,000,000 (yes, that’s 1 MILLION) engines and motorcycles every year. Many of these models are now sold worldwide under various brand names by master dealers.

The US and North American dealer is CSC Motorcycles and they sell the CSC Cyclone RX3 direct to the public. To connect the past with the present, M1nsk entered three stock TRX300i motorcycles in the 2013 Brest-Dushanbe rally with a total length of 6,200 miles (10,000 km). The rally traversed the rugged terrain of Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and all three bikes completed the journey. This rally was previously covered in an ADVPulse article in February 2014.

Note: this “rally” is not the Baja 1000 or the Dakar Rally. Think more of the lines of Ewan and Charley traversing the rough countryside of the same region in Long Way Around. A video of the rally (in Russian) can be viewed on the Minsk Motorcycles YouTube channel.

Once again, it was an impressive endurance milestone that Zongshen’s three production motorcycles covered a cumulative distance of 30,000 km without any mechanical problems.

The CSC Cyclone RX3 – Proven Reliability

The M1nsk TRX300i is nearly identical to the Cyclone RX3 marketed through CSC Motorcycles. Yet another unique attribute of Zongshen is that each national dealer has the ability to make changes to the final specification of the motorcycle to meet the regulations of their continent and the demands of their target buyers. (The Colombian dealer’s INITIAL order for the AKT Moto model was for 6,000 motorcycles!) Since 1992, Zongshen has produced tens of MILLIONS of engines in many sizes. State-of-the-art manufacturing facilities test EACH of these engines before they are assembled into a complete motorcycle, and then EACH of these complete motorcycles is dyno-tested for quality control.

While adventure motorcycles are a growing recreational niche here in North America, Zongshen motorcycles have earned a strong reputation for quality and durability in the rest of the world, where motorcycles are the primary mode of transportation and integral for trade. These motorcycle owners demand economical operation and reliability. In some of these countries, the average annual income is less than the cost of a set of fancy aluminum panniers found on many European “adventure bikes”!
