Will Wisconsin Patents Block Embryonic Stem Cell Research?

Jennifer Washburn’s article on stem cells in the April 12, 2006 issue of the Los Angeles Times mentioned Jeanne Loring, an embryologist at the Burnham Institute in La Jolla: In 1999, Loring tried to start a company to work with stem cells, but the company quickly collapsed when he was unable to raise the $ 100,000 in initial fees. [WARF] loaded.

The Washburn article did not mention an earlier article by Loring and co-author Cathryn Campbell, entitled “Intellectual Property Research and Human Embryonic Stem Cells,” which appeared in 311 Science 1716 on March 24, 2006. There, Loring and Campbell They mentioned the changing royalty fees charged by WARF in response to a “memorandum of understanding” (MOU) with the federal funding agency. Loring / Campbell mentioned the “SBIR paradox” in small business financing, which can be a problem, but not associated with patent law.

The Washburn and Loring / Campbell papers suggested that the WARF / Thomson patents would pose a long-term threat to stem cell science. Washburn highlighted the position of the Santa Monica-based Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights, which urges the California stem cell agency to challenge Wisconsin patents. In more detail, the Santa Monica group stated: Stem Cell Institute Faces Threat from Foundation Associated with University of Wisconsin [WARF], which claims that it owes license rights because it owns patents on all human embryonic stem cells in the United States. John M. Simpson stated: “This is an outrageous raid on the California treasury based on powerful patents. No other nation in the world recognizes them. They are blocking vital research in the United States. I call on the stem cell institute to challenge the validity of patents “.

Neither the Washburn nor the Loring / Campbell articles discuss the possible safe harbor of investigation created in the Hatch-Waxman Act and codified at 35 USC 271 (e) (1). The breadth of this safe harbor was recently affirmed in the Supreme Court decision Merck v. Integra. Neither the Washburn nor the Loring / Campbell articles dispute that patent infringement lawsuits against states and state bodies (such as the California CIRM) are likely to be heard in state court, not federal court, according to the decision of the Supreme Court in Florida Prepaid Postsecondary.

Although there may be a visceral backlash to lash out at patents that are perceived as too broad, the NTP v. RIM suggests that negotiation is sometimes the best route for infringement defendants. Additionally, Loring / Campbell mention the possibility of interference with Plurion, although this will most likely only change the identity of the owner of the patents they control. On the other hand, it is recalled that the Thomson patents try to create stem cells from blastocysts; it’s not about “cloning” [SCNT] technology. To date, traditional methods for separating stem cells from blastocysts have failed in cases where SCNT is involved. There may be a licensing issue regarding Thomson’s patents for SCNT-related cases, which is where the holy grail of patient-specific stem cell lines lies.

As a blanket proposition, state taxpayers backing efforts like Proposition 71 have an expectation that the money will be used for research, not to litigate the patent positions of previous researchers. Extrapolating further, state funding for patent positions could lead to a balkanization of research, in which entities from individual states (such as California, New Jersey, Maryland, Illinois, Connecticut) fight each other, rather than collaborate.

5 things I did to lose 92 pounds

I started my weight loss journey in 2012 after making a New Years resolution to lose some weight.

I was starting to develop symptoms associated with diabetes and that scared me. My knees and hips ache daily and it is difficult for me to walk up and down the stairs.

Why did i gain weight

I would say that much of my weight gain had to do with inactivity. I work from home so I didn’t really have to leave the house. I was very inactive. Also, during this time, my husband was out of work as well, so it was a bit stressful. I did a lot of stress from eating. I was consuming at least 3000-5000 calories a day without exercising and burning less than a few hundred calories a day.

Here is what I did:

Sugar detox

My husband came home from work one day and mentioned to me that a co-worker had lost an enormous amount of weight simply by cutting sugar out of his diet.

It is almost impossible to eliminate all sugar from your diet. Fruits and some vegetables contain natural sugars. Some simple carbohydrates can be turned into sugar in your body. The sugar he was referring to was white and brown sugar. I eliminated sugar from my diet.

I started looking at my diet and noticed that I was eating a lot of carbohydrates (pasta, bread, rice, potatoes). I removed them from my meal plan. I also cut donuts, honey buns, cakes, cookies, ice cream, and tarts from my meals. It wasn’t a juice or soda drinker so it was easy to remove. I also completely eliminated cheese and cow’s milk from my diet.

My meals:

My meals consisted of: oatmeal, bananas, strawberries, eggs, turkey bacon, chicken, ground turkey, kale, collard greens, spinach, green beans, northern beans, chicory peas, broccoli, almonds, sunflower seeds. almond milk.

Water intake:

I drank half my weight in water every day. This included green tea with lemon (no sugar, honey, or agave nectar). Probably the hardest, but I knew that drinking water would help me stay full longer, help me stay hydrated, and help flush toxins out of my system.

Exercise:

I walked more than 20 minutes a day, 3-4 times a week. He walked everywhere. The closest store was about 8 blocks away. I didn’t care how cold it was outside. He was committed to getting as much exercise as possible. He made up reasons for having to walk to the store to get in every day.

Bath breaks:

Most people only release waste 2-3 times a week. I was eating 3 to 5 meals a day, but dropping 1 or 2 times a week. I was beyond constipated.

Why is waste release important?

Cleaning your colon has the ability to help you lose weight. People have lost up to 20 pounds over a period of one month. What a colon cleanse does is remove affected foods, parasites, worms, and intestinal sludge from your colon. One of the many things it will do is help jump-start your metabolism, helping you burn fat faster.

I knew I had to do something, so I started taking castor oil. That’s terrible and it made me nauseous, but it worked. Within hours it was releasing, but after stopping the castor oil my system wouldn’t let go so I had to try something else.

What I found is that there are mild detox teas that will give you the same results. I started adding this along with a liquid multivitamin to my diet and now I can do it 2-4 times a day.

My results:

As a result of changing my diet, increasing my vitamin intake, and releasing more waste, I lost 92 pounds in a 2-year period. I went from a size 18 to a size 10.

This was the plan that I followed. I have been able to maintain my weight loss for the past 2 years.

For me, this is not just a diet, but a lifestyle change. I still enjoy the foods that I like, but in moderation.

Can this work for you? Yes. The question to ask yourself is is your current health worth it?

Abigail’s: There are no ghosts here!

Many of Victoria’s oldest restaurants and accommodations, and even the Royal Victoria Golf Course, have ghost stories attached. Guests at Hotel Abigail often ask about ghost stories and the incredibly helpful staff would love to tell you one. Unfortunately, the ghosts have not appeared.

Abigail’s Hotel is located on the outskirts of downtown Victoria, a stone’s throw from the Inner Harbor and is truly one of Victoria’s best kept secrets. Well, no more! I’m going to let the cat out of the bag! I have lived here for over 20 years and have driven countless times, each time wondering what it was like. I have been to several old and stately hotels and they were all nice, but often disappointing. Not so with Abigail’s.

When we pass the hotel entrance, we immediately notice the manicured English gardens. As you pass between the Coach House and the Inn, both buildings look very similar. At first glance, we couldn’t say that they were built 50 years apart. We park and are immediately greeted by Tomas, the super friendly front desk assistant. He guides us to our room and fully informs us about the hotel and the services. Breakfast in bed sounds inviting, but we opted to have breakfast with the other guests.

Our room is spacious and decorated with almost all the comforts we could wish for. Is it the delicious welcome cookies, the cozy sofa in front of the fireplace, the four-poster bed or the marble bathroom with Jacuzzi and rain shower? Our room is decorated with luxurious country furniture, goose feather duvets and pillows, silk bedspreads and elegant cushions. It is luxurious and very comfortable.

The main building’s library is a meeting place and complimentary snacks and hors d’oeuvres are provided between 5:00 and 7:00. Before long, we meet friendly people from Louisiana, Nevada, Ontario, and Alberta. Tomás is taking good care of us.

For dinner, we take a walk through the city center, no more than 3-4 blocks. We visited the popular Noodle House to find out what all the fuss is about. Well, not what we expected, but a unique experience and very tasty food! I didn’t expect to spoil my wife with chopsticks and a cardboard box to go, but nothing is too good for my Queen!

In the morning, we sat down to enjoy a magnificent gourmet breakfast. A large table accommodates most of the guests. Arriving late, we are seated at a table for four and are soon joined by a young couple from Oregon. Abigail’s is designed and operated so that people can easily interact with each other, increasing the enjoyment of the visit. If you are looking for privacy, the spacious bedrooms can be your private hideaway and you can order your breakfast in bed!

After breakfast, Marion Hansen (General Manager) takes us on a tour of the hotel. Each room is unique, but they all have the same special touches that make Abigail unique. All the staff, from marketing, administration, cleaning and dining, are very friendly and helpful. It’s hard to imagine why anyone would stay anywhere else.

You can tell how much they care, especially when Marion tells us how they invite some of the neighbors for Christmas dinner. The owner’s philosophy is certainly well ingrained throughout the staff and is evident in the care and attention to detail in both the design and style of the hotel and the service provided to guests.

When we check out, we are presented with a small gift bag containing two bottles of water, treats, and a guide to other “select accommodations”. Working in tourism makes me really appreciate companies that take it seriously. This business has really earned its “five stars”.

So now is the time to play tourist! Our pick for the day is to visit the Victoria Art Gallery. The Art Gallery is just minutes from Abigail’s and is located within the historic Spencer Mansion in the Rockland neighborhood. We go there because there is an exhibition of the art of Takao Tanabe, an artist born in Seal Cove, British Columbia. The artist has received several important awards and is internationally recognized. His art provides a unique view of land, sea, and sky that is manifested in his extensive and beautiful landscape paintings. The formidable size of his paintings presents an awe-inspiring view of Canada and the West Coast in particular.

We continue our exploration by heading to Sidney by the Sea for lunch. Since we have reached most of the local restaurants, we are looking for a new experience. A friend had mentioned Dakota restaurant at the Victoria Flying Club, so we checked it out! From our table, we can see the runway, so during lunch a variety of planes travel by taxi quite close.

We heard that the breakfasts were award-winning and found that they serve breakfast on weekends all day. We make our selection and enjoy a very good lunch.

After lunch we explore Sydney and do some shopping and excursions.

On the way home, I reflect on our fabulous stay at Abigail’s. I’m thinking of ghost stories that I could make up for inquisitive minds. The fact is, they just don’t need a ghost. Abigail sells herself!

Reflections on Abigail’s: Peaceful, quiet, comfortable, luxurious but not ostentatious, friendly, meeting place, charming, romantic, very special. The best accommodation in Victoria!

Why Men Cheat: 4 Reasons Men Get Involved And Cheat On Their Partners

According to a survey, 92 percent of unfaithful men said they cheat due to emotional disconnection. People would think that men cheat because of sex, but what they don’t realize is that sex, being a medium of emotional transmission in a physical expression, is as important to men as affection is important to women.

Men are also emotional beings. The problem is that society has painted them in a way that doesn’t make them look like that. Society plays an important role in defining men. Think about it, the media believes that men become “macho” when they have more than one woman. Almost to the point where it connotes that the more women a man can have, the more powerful he becomes, or that men have the biological right to cheat primarily because they have the penis.

They don’t have to worry about being pregnant or checking their monthly OB / GYN visits. The media portrays them as alpha dogs and that women are mere expendable sex objects. We delude ourselves into believing that men are these lustful and animal gods who have no sense of self-control, remorse, and conscience to figure out what is right and what is wrong when it comes to sex.

This misconception is confusing and can basically mislead us from the truth. Men are just as emotional as women, but they simply displace their emotions in different and socially acceptable ways.

1. Thanks– Most men who cheat feel undervalued by their partners. With daily worries like bills, kids, and chores, couples stop appreciating each other. The other woman often makes the man feel better, making them feel different, appreciated, and admired. Men look strong, powerful and capable. But inside, they are insecure like everyone else. They are looking for someone to edify them so that they feel valued.

Men have a winning mentality. Think about how men view their favorite sports teams on television. They love to win. As long as they are in the game, even to the end, they will see it. Once it’s a blowout and they know their team can’t win, the television goes off. Now they may not have been good guys to live in, but if you want to preserve your relationship, make them feel like they are winning with the things they do for you. No matter how small it is, appreciation will keep your man from watching an affair.

2. Appearance vs attention– 88 percent of men surveyed in one study said that other women were no prettier than their own wives or girlfriends. This just proves that there are other things besides physical appearance that can lead a man to cheat. Attention is one of them. Most men cheat because their wives or girlfriends stop paying attention to them. They take hold of this very hard and if they can’t find it in your house or apartment, they come looking for it elsewhere.

The other woman makes them feel safe. They feel like they can be themselves. They can speak more, express themselves more, and the listening ear is always available when they need to share their stories. They are amazed at how another person can be so interested in their work, their childhood, their plans and their dreams. And men put a high price on it!

Anyone, no matter how you look at it, can admire him, open up and give him that little extra bombshell and hold on to his every word. So instead of spending too much extra time in the office, why not spend some quality time listening to your partner?

3. Power. A common mistake made by working women is when they make men feel emasculated by rubbing their faces that they have higher incomes. This can make the child feel criticized and, again, underrated. Making them lose their sense of power in a relationship.

According to Sherry Argov, in the book “Why Men Marry Bitches”, “Power is as intoxicating for men as romance is intoxicating for women.” Once they feel vulnerable, the men will try to regain lost power by cheating on a woman, who, as you guess, usually works as a waitress at TGI Fridays!

So be very careful what your partner looks like when you have a high-level career. Although men may appear supportive and proud, they have a certain form of insecurity when it comes to providing food on the table or paying for dinners. It does not mean that the woman should feel sorry for being more successful than he is, or that she should simply quit her job or ask to be demoted just to caress her ego.

It’s more about how you handle yourself with tact and sensitivity when you talk about your job, your paycheck, your FICO score, your investments, or your purchases. Modesty is the important thing here. Also, do not criticize your job or your income. Make sure you let him know that you are supporting him, not competing against him.

4. Passion. Most couples stop dating when the honeymoon stage ends. Four years after we were married and it’s all about microwave TV dinners and talking about bills. The spice has been replaced by monotony. So every now and then you should go to your favorite restaurant, go to the movies (not rent a DVD), and watch a movie that you both enjoy.

Activities outside of the routine of life at home are the things that get the juice flowing in a relationship. Many couples stop dating after marriage or after a long period of time, then the woman wonders why the man has run away with another woman.

This is because men, in general, like women who are fun and outgoing. They like a woman who laughs more and knows how to have fun. Men are like boys and if you’re not going to be a fun playmate, they’ll find the next neighborhood girl to play with. If you are so carried away, chances are that he would resent you for it. A man needs to be constantly stimulated to keep his attention. Otherwise, you will retaliate and feel despised and taken for granted. He wants to know that he can still be entertained by his company, that he can still make people laugh and be interested in his character.

Do not leave the humor because you are already busy with important priorities. Include recreation in your budget and schedule. Make sex more interesting by shopping for a new pair of sexy lingerie. Experiment in bed. The key here is that you need to cover all aspects of your life together to keep him hooked and interested only in you.

This is not to say that you should be a doormat and become his own private entertainer, like a court jester who juggles with the king all day. The very purpose of this is to keep the fire going, the engines running, and the steam flowing. Remember, men are just as passionate as women.

What you need to know about Scope Freak

One of the hottest trends on social media these days is live streaming. There have been various sites and software with live streaming services before, but they only got a lot more attention with the advent of mobile devices. Periscope leads the pack of mobile apps that primarily offer live streaming services. It is considered a game changer in the social media arena because, unlike other social media sites, Periscope gained one million users in a short time. It is widely used, as evidenced by most of the streamed videos seen in a day, plus or minus 40 million minutes. But there are certain limitations to this app and that’s where Scope Freak comes in.

Scope Freak is a desktop software tool designed for Periscope broadcasts. This unique software tool was released on December 28, 2015. It is intended to assist online marketers in their video advertising searches.

Creators

Ali G and Marcus Lim are the authors of this software tool. They are the same team that brought Social Interest Freak and Social Lead Freak to numerous online marketers who want to get a head start on their social media marketing activities. Ali G also created other efficient web marketing tools such as 1st Place Penguin, Forum Fortunes, WP Mobile Assault, WP Time Trigger, and WP Video Commando.

How to use the program

After purchasing the software, it can be installed on computers. It is highly compatible; in fact, it works on MacBooks, laptops, and desktops.

You just need to sign up for a free account once the program is installed. The interface of this program is also quite simple; You just need to follow four easy steps to save live streams.

The first step is to insert the URL of the streamed video. Second, choose the destination folder for the downloaded video. The third step takes time because it is when the stream is downloaded. However, unlike various video downloaders, Scope Freak allows users to download videos quickly. You can even download three-hour streams in just a few minutes. A progress bar is placed to indicate the percentage of the downloaded parts. When all the flat files are downloaded, the word “Finished” will be displayed in the list of flat files. The fourth and final step is to upload the downloaded stream to your YouTube account.

Pros

Some of the advantages of using Scope Freak are its ease of use, compatibility, and fast download process. As hinted above, this software is created as an aid to Periscope application limitations. One of the common problems for Periscope users is the expiration of their streams after 24 hours. The audience that missed the live broadcast was required to view it within the 24-hour limit.

With such software, both the streamer and the viewers do not have to strain to watch within the 24 hour limit; they can watch whenever they want as long as they have downloaded the streamed videos. They can also store the videos for as long as they want and need. Users have the option to edit their downloaded streams using YouTube’s new editing tools or offline video editing software.

Who needs the software

The downloaded videos are of high quality. It will surely increase the trustworthiness of online marketers embedding high-quality videos on their respective e-commerce sites. Online marketers can also monetize your videos. They can add ads on the videos or links to various sales pages.

Bloggers and almost anyone with a device and an internet connection can apply as an affiliate for the software. The price of the program ranges from $ 27 to $ 47. The price depends on the package. The basic costs between $ 27 and $ 37, while the professional package costs between $ 37 and $ 47. Affiliates earn a 50% commission for each sale of the software.

Conclution

The number of online marketers is increasing every year, and to stand out in this saturated industry is to use the latest trends in technology. Buying a bakery rack

Bakery racks are a perfect upgrade to any kitchen, be it residential or commercial use. Having been around for many years, this decorative item adds a touch of charm, as well as convenience and efficiency. Today, you will find bakery shelves available in a wide range of styles and sizes. For example, some bakery racks have a nice built-in wine rack, some have cutting boards, and some are simpler, perfect for everyday use.

For most people, kitchen countertops become a common place, as well as a place to store small appliances, leaving little room for other items or workspace. The great thing about using a bakery rack is that they provide space for some items from the counter, which means you have a better workspace and a more organized kitchen.

Plus, because there are so many bakery shelf designs available today, you’ll have a number of options regardless of your kitchen style or decor. In other words, if your kitchen is country, Mediterranean, or contemporary, a bakery rack will look great as well as functional. Here are just a few of the styles you might consider: You’ll even find bakery racks specifically designed to save space, like corner bakery racks that fit comfortably while still providing all the convenience you need.

o Elegance – A brushed platinum or bronze finish with marble accents adds a touch of class and elegance. The design of this particular bakery rack is elegant but offers a stunning effect. A marble shelf is perfect for attractive storage and can also be used as a display shelf.

o Shabby Chic – A bakery rack with a weathered or weathered wood and wood shelf looks great in any shabby chic kitchen. The design is clean and simple, which integrates perfectly. This bakery rack is available in multiple color finishes and comes in two-, three-, or four-shelf styles for added storage and display space.

o Mediterranean: the soft curves and decorative legs make this the perfect choice for a casual or formal kitchen. The sophistication is subtle with warm and welcoming details. You will usually find this type of bakery rack in colors like black, honey, or dark green.

o Country – Most country kitchens have a specific theme that includes teapots, roosters, or fruit, or perhaps a wonderful eclectic look. Regardless, you’ll discover a number of country-themed bakery shelves that add warmth and a bit of quirkiness. These shelves often have multiple shelves for versatility and some kind of hand-painted motif.

o Formal: A wrought iron bakery rack and a built-in wine rack look perfect in a formal or contemporary kitchen. Wrought iron generally features a nice parchment design that is simple yet beautiful. You will find these shelves in pine and wrought iron or mahogany and stainless steel.

o Transitional – Today, many homes are being decorated with a transitional look that is both traditional and contemporary. To match this style, a wrought iron-backed pine or oak bakery rack, two top shelves, a table and a bottom shelf is the perfect choice.

With bakery racks, the price ranges from $ 100 to $ 2,000 or more. What you pay depends on the materials used, the manufacturer, the style and the size. The key is determining where the baker’s rack will be placed so that the proper size is chosen. Keep in mind that while a bakery rack is usually placed in a kitchen, this piece of furniture also looks wonderful in many dining rooms.

The TVR Tuscan Speed Six sports car

A review of the TVR Tuscan Speed Six sports car, covering the development, important features and technical data of this classic car from classic to modern.

The Tuscan TVR

In 1997, the Cerbera was the first TVR to be equipped with the Speed Six engine, but the TVR Tuscan was the first sports car specifically designed to include this unit.

In fact, its long and wide hood was very reminiscent of that icon of the 60s and 70s, the E-Type.

The TVR Tuscan Speed Six Mark 1 sports car was launched in 1999 and was equipped with either a 3.6 or 4-liter Speed Six engine, developing 350 and 360 hp respectively.

These were followed by the “S” (400 hp) and “Red Rose” (380 hp) variants.

In October 2005, the Mark 2 version was introduced with minor changes to the headlights and taillights, a slight chassis modification to improve handling, and a modified rear spoiler on the S model.

At the same time, a convertible was introduced to complement the original Targa.

The Mark 2 S and convertible were the final variants to appear, and were built until 2007 when TVR ceased production.

The external appearance of all the variants remained largely unchanged, except for the “S” model, which sported a front pan underneath and a small rear spoiler to further aid aerodynamics.

In terms of engine options, there were basically five available for the Mark 1 and 2 variants, ranging from a 3.6-liter to the more common 4-liter, and finally the 4.2-liter R-Series.

All were equipped with multi-point fuel injection, a five-speed gearbox, and huge 11-inch disc brakes at the front and 11-inch discs at the rear.

A specific interesting feature of the Tuscan was an exhaust system in the same configuration as that found on a motorcycle. The result was that it saved weight.

The Tuscan sports car differed from the Cerbera in that the wheelbase was shortened by 205 mm when the rear seats were removed.

In addition, it was built in the shape of a Targa, with a roll bar positioned behind the seats.

The Targa top was stored on top of the trunk, above the luggage, while the rear window could be removed and placed vertically in the trunk, in front of the luggage, to create an almost convertible experience.

The body consisted of a composite material formed in the form of a honeycomb instead of fiberglass, as in previous models, thus saving about 30 kg of weight.

The use of composite body panels allowed for the creation of a very curved style, not possible with sheet steel or even, to some extent, fiberglass.

The cabin was lined with leather and legroom had been increased due to the presence of an inline six-cylinder engine instead of a wide V8.

Powered by a 4-liter Speed Six engine, it developed 360 bhp and produced a top speed of 180 mph, a 0-60 mph time of 4.2 seconds, and a 0-100 mph time of 9.5 seconds.

It used a five-speed Borg Warner gearbox and had a good weight distribution of 51:49, front to rear.

It lacked ABS and the springs were too soft to cope with an uneven road, but produced good handling capabilities on normal surfaces.

Also, at speeds above 150 mph, there was a tendency for the front end to become light and start to snake, creating a problem keeping the car in a straight line.

The TVR Tuscan S

The Tuscan S sports car used a modified 4-liter Speed Six engine incorporating wilder camshafts, lighter connecting rods, and a massive 12.2: 1 compression ratio.

Developing 390 bhp and weighing 30 kg less than the standard Toscano, the “S” produced a top speed of 190 mph, a 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds, and a 0-100 mph time of 8.9 seconds.

The front suspension geometry was modified, larger brakes were installed, and the springs and dampers were improved to overcome the soft suspension on the standard variant.

The TVR Tuscan R

The creation of the Tuscan R sports car was likely the result of the failure of the Cerbera Speed 12, the 7.7-liter V12 racer that developed 800+ bhp, but had limited success on the track, while the road version was scrapped. . .

Peter Wheeler, the owner of TVR, wanted to build another supercar based on the Tuscan Racer chassis, with a wider track and a 200mm longer wheelbase, to improve cornering and increase high-speed stability.

The two versions of the Tuscan R were the T400R and the T440R, powered by a 4-liter and 4.2-liter Speed Six engine, developing 400 hp and 440 hp respectively.

The bodywork of each was a carbon fiber composite that weighed just 1060kg, which was 400kg lighter than its competitor, the Porsche 911 GT2.

Plus, with a carbon fiber reinforced drivetrain and aluminum honeycomb floor, the chassis was at least twice as firm as the standard Tuscan.

Equipped with a six-speed semi-automatic gearbox, the T440R produced a top speed of over 200 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds, with a 0-100 mph time of 8.4 seconds.

Ultimately, this was the first TVR sports car to undergo wind tunnel testing, producing a car with a drag coefficient of just 0.32.

This marks the end of my TVR Tuscan Speed Six Sports Car Review.

I will review in some detail, in future articles within this website, the entire range of TVR sports cars that were featured in the memorable era spanning from 1946 to 2000+.

I hope you join me in my Reviews.

When it comes to getting insurance for us, there are a surprisingly large number of Americans who have no idea what their insurance policies contain. People generally worry about price first and content second. So when looking for term life insurance quotes, the bottom line is the main concern.

The problem is that when a quote seems like a lot, it is usually because certain elements are left out of the policy. It’s cheap insurance, but it can end up costing you a fortune in the long run. The only way to ensure the best possible insurance coverage is to search multiple insurance quotes online and then examine them to identify the best one.

This may seem time consuming, but the effort is worth it. Nobody likes to be ripped off, but unfortunately it takes a keen eye to spot when this is happening, especially in an area as complicated as life insurance.

What to look for

It’s tempting to look at nothing more than the policy overview, but knowing what the term life insurance quote is really about requires a closer look. There are a number of conditions and stipulations that many people never bother to read. For example, the value of a policy can depreciate over time.

This is for a number of reasons, but ultimately there is a date when coverage ends and when it is reached benefits are often lost entirely. Therefore, one of the key parts of the policy to consider relates to the term of the policy. Online insurance quotes should detail this, and if not, be sure to dig deeper yourself.

It is important not to buy the first policy that is offered. Being wise means checking the little details of the particular life insurance policy and you can save hundreds in payments each year.

The difference

When it comes to term life insurance, the quotes provided by brokers relate to very different coverages. There are 2 different types of insurance available. The most recognizable is the permanent insurance policy paid for throughout the life of the holder. And at any time, the policy can be cashed.

However, term insurance is available only for an agreed period of time after which coverage ceases to exist. When looking for insurance quotes online, it is important to recognize that difference, as there are several points that must be accepted.

If the term of the life insurance policy is 10 years, the payments corresponding to that period will be made and, if any claim is made within that period, the claim will be honored. However, when the term ends, no claims can be made and (generally) no cash back is available. All money paid is gone.

Find the best quotes

There are many insurance brokers who claim to offer the best term life insurance policies, but none of them can prove that they do. The reason is that the best policy largely depends on the specific needs of the applicant.

This is why it is important to get up to 5 insurance quotes online and compare what they offer before making a decision. Comparison is made easier by the availability of comparison sites, which display the specific terms of each policy.

In this way, the most suitable terms can be identified. Even if this option costs a little more, then the investment would be worth it: the important thing is that the chosen life insurance provides the necessary coverage.

Crisis point

Thinking back to the financial crisis of 2008, one would think that another such economic catastrophe would somehow elude us. Just ten years ago, the United States plunged the world into the worst financial disaster since the Great Depression. Yet here we are, a decade later, no wiser and even dumber. I would have thought that we would have learned from our mistakes, but time and again, history shows that we are still prone to repeating mistakes of the past. When will we learn? Today, what we have is the déjà vu of the financial crisis of 2008. So what we have now are almost the same set of circumstances that are on the verge of unleashing an economic meltdown more sinister and devastating than the one in 2008. To understand how this is happening, we first have to look at what happened before the crisis. 2008 crash.

Long before the financial crisis of 2008 occurred, ongoing factors were already occurring that led to the eventual collapse of the financial, real estate, and automotive industries. One of the most prominent factors that contributed to this crisis was the fact that banking institutions starting in 1980 initiated a series of policy changes that began to undermine the financial security and stability of those same institutions. When banks threw out the book on prudent tax policies that worked for generations and lowered standards for mortgages in order to generate more income by making mortgages, like the United Auto Workers Union, they became too greedy.

As early as the 1950s, until the late 1970s, the most efficient, prudent and reliable policy for obtaining mortgages and the criteria was quite simple. The amount a person could qualify for a mortgage was equivalent to only 25 percent of their gross income. All this changed with the arrival of the credit bureaus and new banking concepts, such as adjustable rate mortgages or ARM’S, as they are still called today. Since the 1980s, a new era of banking began. Over time, corruption, fraud, and embezzlement turned out as fast as the changing ways in which banks reshaped individual mortgage policies.

What also happened during this transition in banking policies was that the Federal Government, in its attempt to stimulate economic growth, approved NAFTA. Our elected officials were unaware that this trade agreement did the exact opposite of what it was designed to do. Consequently, since 1994, the United States has lost millions of middle-class salaried jobs. It seems that overnight America, our strong manufacturing-based economy, was almost eradicated. In the end, this left millions wallowing and languishing in despair, hoping that somehow those jobs would return. As a result, our society has suffered the loss of millions of jobs, leaving families so impoverished that, in many cases, the once strong family unit has deteriorated. Our once stable economy was no longer so.

Since the 1980s, more Americans were drawn to ARM’S thinking that their animated hoods would always be there. Then all of a sudden, job losses, stagnant wages, and loss of pensions meant those ARMS put so many people in a position where they couldn’t pay their mortgages. The mortgages they took out were now being sold at inflated prices to investment firms. When millions were no longer able to pay their adjustable rate mortgages along with the millions more who had fixed rate mortgages in early 2007, the financial industry began to unravel. This resulted in one of the worst financial, economic and social crises of our time. The massive foreclosures that occur every day, more people left in the cold and families divided, was the result of our entire economy being sucked out from under us.

In 2008 across America, the staggering and alarming rate of ruined neighborhoods rose at alarming rates, with every bank foreclosure. In all major cities in the United States, unemployment rates exceeded 20 percent. The once strong and dominant manufacturing base of our economy had disappeared. What has replaced manufacturing is the service industry. This increase in the service industry has only produced a very limited number of workers earning real living wages. An example of a living wage for the Tampa area of Florida is no less than $ 25 per hour, or $ 52,000 per year. In Tampa, Florida, for those still employed, the median salary is just $ 30,000 a year. This is with an unemployment rate in 2009 of more than 20 percent. With those figures, there was no way to have enough tax revenue to serve all the public services that are now required by law not only for the city of Tampa but for the entire country. There was a domino effect in declining economies. This only further pushed against any hope of an economic reversal of luck. Even though unemployment rates have improved today, wages are still well below the overall cost of living and continue to push city budgets into the red.

When the federal government intervened with the massive bailout programs for the failed institutions that started this crisis in the first place, they only increased our national debt. Today, ten years later, those QE bailouts by the Fed have only increased the wealth of financial institutions by one percent. The American public is still on the sidelines. Our national debt has only multiplied, and when all is said and done, the Fed since 2009, with its $ 1.5 trillion of freshly printed cash, has only created more inflation for the American public. We see it every day in the supermarket. The cost of everything continues to rise almost daily.

What has resulted today is that the federal government is controlling more than 80 percent of all real estate and it is all based on credit. The recent stock market crash indicates that our economy is just the tip of an economic and financial iceberg of economic calamity. The economy has not recovered, credit is all that keeps many afloat, and individual incomes remain stagnant and, in many cases, contracting. With the Fed raising interest rates, it only prevents the national debt from rising, and with Trump’s budget, the national debt will remain like an executioner’s noose, stifling any real and meaningful economic growth for all. Americans.

Our political parties continue to lose the boat in crafting meaningful reforms that would allow the United States to greatly reduce the national debt and, at the same time, stimulate genuine economic growth. With the advent of wireless power along with today’s many other technological wonders, upgrading and securing our infrastructure, as well as providing everyone’s security, must be a major priority.

Today, the world is rapidly being endangered by man’s slow reaction to implement protocols to deny the effects of the almost irreversible damage we have done to our planet. When major cities around the world suffer from extreme freshwater shortages where, at any moment, drought conditions could devastate and send entire populations into hysteria, this is not what should happen. Yet the prospects for the near future, if nothing else, are made not just in the United States, but around the world, millions will be thrown into chaos where unimaginable hardships and horrors await.

The time to act is now, but we have leaders in Washington and an administration that has only created a very toxic climate not just in DC, but around the world. Lest we forget China, North Korea, and even our neighbor, Mexico. The constant lies, innuendo and constant agitation from the Trump White House are the sources of so much division. Instead of unity, there is chaos. Instead of humility, there is bravado. Instead of benevolence, there is corruption and collusion. This is the reality we face today. Tragic, yes.

A crisis point is looming, and unless we come together as a united nation with a unified leadership plan, the future remains bleak. America hasn’t really had a definitive directional plan outlining goals to secure our future since John F. Kennedy. It is time for our leaders to consider the implementation of the Ten Articles of the Confederation of National Economic Reform, as that directional plan. A direction plan that will ensure that our future will be there for our children and for generations to come.
