Reviews of hotels in Bridgeport, Connecticut

Having transportation here is a great help and allows you to get out and move more; with a greater variety of things to do and see. For something a little different, try the Barnum Museum, which also covers Bridgeport’s industrial past, as well as the brilliant PT Barnum, with a miniature circus as one of the things to see. There is a Discovery Museum which is great for children, but remember that it is small, bright and clean, but does not appeal well to adults. It has over 100 ‘hands on’ things to do, as well as an art gallery. For a more relaxed day, head over to Lake Mohegan Recreation Area, as there is fresh water here for swimming, and there are picnic areas and some nice trails to walk or hike. Beardsley Zoological Gardens has been running for over 75 years and is the only zoo in Connecticut and is working with other zoos on SSP, Species Survival Plan. Kids will like this and adults too. Fancy more water fun? Then go to Seaside Park Beach, where there is sand and water, but also picnic tables and restrooms. There is a skateboard park as well as ball fields for your use. Captain’s Cove Seaport is good for a look around with quirky little shops and some really nice places to eat which are different. From here you can take a scenic harbor cruise.

Eating here is easy and there is a Park City Grill that offers good cuisine. Here they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
