Medifast as a diet boost – 3 reasons to try it – and what you need to know before you do!

Ever thought of trying Medifast as a diet boost? Medifast is a popular at-home meal replacement diet where you eat up to 6 times a day: 5 Medifast meals plus a lean, green meal that you add yourself.

While many people take Medifast for a couple of months, you can also use Medifast as a diet boost for your weight loss plan and only stay on the plan for 2 weeks to a month.

Here are 3 reasons why Medifast is a great boost to your diet:

#1. rapid weight loss

Nothing prepares you more to stay on a weight loss plan than seeing rapid results, especially during the first few weeks.

And Medifast is one of the best diets for this. You can lose up to 5 pounds per week for the first 2 weeks. (After this, your weight loss begins to level off slightly.) Ten pounds in two weeks makes a big difference in how you look and how your clothes fit.

Therefore, you can encourage him to continue with any weight loss plan, including Medifast, that he chooses after this.

#two. Foods enriched with proteins and vitamins

Medifast meals are higher in protein than many other meal replacement bars or diet plans. That means you’ll feel full longer, and even though you’re losing weight, you won’t feel hungry.

Plus, you’re eating every 2-3 hours, so again, this helps beat hunger depression.

The meals on this diet are also fortified with vitamins. Therefore, you also get good nutrition as you lose weight.

#3. Easy to follow and flexible

You eat 6 times a day on this plan, but you can eat your meals in any order you like (as long as you eat a meal every 2-3 hours).

So if it’s more convenient to eat your lean, green meal in the morning, no problem. You can also take many of the meals with you on the go, so you don’t have to lug around special frozen dinners or spend a lot of time preparing before you eat.

Those are 3 reasons why you might consider using Medifast as a diet boost. You get super fast results. You won’t be hungry. And you have a lot of flexibility to work the diet with your lifestyle.

However, there is one thing to keep in mind if you are going to do this. You may not want to sign up for their autoship program, which sends you new meals automatically every month.

While signing up for autoship may save you a little money initially, if you’re only using this diet for 2 weeks to a month, you don’t need the hassle of calling and canceling an upcoming order.

Bottom line? If you’re looking for a quick weight loss start, Medifast is a great option, it even allows you to eat treats like cookies or brownies while losing weight super fast! What’s better than that?

Cabinet Session: Artest’s Bomb Ticks

It will only end in tears.

Sure, ESPN has wasted millions in airtime pontificating (as only they can) about the benefits of acquiring problem players. You’ve seen the highlights: Dennis Rodman kicking people around, Terrell Owens doing sit-ups in the driveway, Darryl Strawberry wiping white powder under his nose, Steve Howe returning to the Yankees after his thousandth drug suspension. Did you know? For once, I agree with the Boys from Bristol. The Sacramento Kings’ deal for Ron Artest is fool’s gold. The idea that Artest will suddenly be a good citizen in the most boring city in the league (alright, Salt Lake City and Orlando, I see you waving your hands) is nonsense. Oh sure, he’ll be on his best behavior for a couple of months, and maybe even make it to the playoffs without being filmed shirtless and in flip-flops, barging and yelling at the opposing team’s bus. But eventually, and soon enough, the Kings will wish they had never heard his name.

I guarantee you, they didn’t budge much: Peja Stojakovic seems uninterested these days (although Indiana can try it for a couple of months, and if they don’t like it, they get a lot of slimy cap). relief to let him go). But my argument is that a healthy NBA franchise shouldn’t have faced Artest even for free. He’s just a spoiled, immature jerk with personal issues that make Robert Downey Jr. look like the Dalai Lama. You’ll wake up to your tea and scones one morning, turn on the subway, and learn that Artest has barricaded himself in a Denny’s and refuses to come out unless Michael Jackson frees Blanket. Or he’ll be driving home from work, tune in to sports radio and hear a report that Artest is in trouble because his latest rap song calls for the overthrow of the Brazilian government. Really, that’s the only fun left for guys like Artest and TO: the impossible spectacle of their inevitable detonation.

Of course, before they detonate themselves, they will most likely detonate their teams. Best of luck, Sacramento.

What was your impression of the AFC and NFC title games? How did the public do betting on those games?

Greg Jorssen, BoDog: Surely the two Jakes didn’t come to play last Sunday, right? Plummer lived up to the belief that he can’t do it, and the Seahawks did an amazing job shutting down the Delhomme/Smith passing attack. The betting public did pretty well with the Steeler win as they jumped on the Pittsburgh bandwagon, however, they didn’t fare so well with the Seahawks win. Oddsmakers were betting heavily on Carolina, based on the Seahawks’ strength on the schedule vs. Carolina’s, and the Panther road record. Guess they forgot about Seattle’s secret weapon: The Twelfth Man. Boy was the stadium rocking on Sunday afternoon! The only thing that saved the books last weekend was that the final scores wiped out most of the teasers. Since both wins were landslides, this helped turn what should have been a losing day for the house into a winning day.

We’ll have another week to really dive into Super Bowl analysis, but what’s your first impression of the Pittsburgh/Seattle lineup? I’m not asking for a pick, just your thoughts as an expert on how the line got to where it is, if you expect it to move, etc…

GJ, BoDog: The line opened up as expected and should finally settle around Pittsburgh -4 ½. Two things spring to mind as to why an AFC #6 team would be the favorite over the NFC’s #1 team. First is the strength of the schedule. Seattle ranked last in schedule difficulty, which was expected considering the poor season the NFC West showed. The Steelers, on the other hand, were in ninth place, and a fair amount of their losses were due to key injuries. The second factor is, of course, emotional. People love underdogs and will ride their bandwagon to the bitter end. I expect some big money later in Seattle; However, it is already clear that the house will cheer for the Seahawks!

How many prop bets do you expect to see on the various boards? Do you have a favorite from the past that you remember? Anything particularly funny or outrageous?

GJ, BoDog: I can’t speak for the other books, but bodog will have over 150 endorsements in the Super Bowl. Every year’s favorite is, of course, the coin toss, which nets us a tremendous mango. As for the scandalous, the one that comes to mind is our support on the length of the National Anthem! We don’t offer that one anymore, because it was too hard to modify (some singers love to be in the spotlight). We also had endorsements during the 2001 Super Bowl about whether Shaq would outscore the St. Louis Rams, and we’ve had similar endorsements every year since. Hmmm, after Kobe’s performance on Sunday, maybe a line on whether Kobe will beat both teams in the Super Bowl… let me work on that!

Switching gears completely: I guess if Kobe Bryant scored 82 points the other night, you missed out on a big bet, huh? What’s the deal with Kobe taking 81 off his tuckus?

GJ, BoDog: The Lakers are now “The Kobe Show,” and he is someone who now put an early stamp on the MVP award. The big question is: why didn’t the Raptors double it down? Did you think that it would eventually settle down, that it would eventually fail? No wonder they lost to the Israeli National Team! At halftime, Kobe decided to take matters into his own hands, because the Lakers were so far behind such a bad team. He had no choice but to do it himself, and I really don’t think there are many others in this league who can do what he did. Many will say that this is bad for basketball, that it is a team game, etc. I don’t buy that. Kobe stole the headlines of both NFL Conference Championships. One man changed the sports focus from the NFL to the NBA. That in itself is just amazing. People don’t say he’s the “next Jordan” anymore. After his performance on Sunday, he will be known as “the first Kobe!”

2006 Stanley Cup Final Preview

Although the weather outside doesn’t make you think of hockey, the Stanley Cup Finals start tonight. The matchup must be a complete nightmare for Gary Bettman, the commissioner of the NHL. Edmonton hasn’t been a standout team since Wayne Gretzky was traded to Los Angeles, and people don’t exactly think of hockey when they hear North Carolina. TV ratings will be dismal, though that’s nothing new for the league. It will be a good series though. Both teams have absolutely crazy fans who will be crazy, and they both play an exciting type of hockey.

I’ve lived in Calgary most of my life, so writing about Edmonton is like a New Yorker praising the Red Sox, or a Michigan fan speaking highly of the Buckeyes. A win in Edmonton would kill me (My Canada doesn’t include Edmonton), but at least according to oddsmakers they’ll have to come from behind to do it. The Hurricanes are lukewarm -140 favorites to win the series, but you can make a strong case for a win by either team. The series is eerily reminiscent of the last final: an energetic, high-achieving Alberta team riding a hot keeper in a matchup against a solid, offensively gifted southern team. Last time, my Flames put in a lot of effort, but were eventually outmatched. It remains to be seen if history repeats itself.

Here are eight factors to consider when making your plays in this series:

1) Rested or rusty? – Edmonton beat Anaheim in five games, giving them nine days off before the finals began. That time allowed them to heal injuries and get over the flu, which had hit the team badly in the last series. It also allowed them to get caught up in the chaos sweeping Edmonton and media attention in Canada (and elsewhere to a lesser extent). We will quickly know which factor will impact the team the most. They’ve ridden a wave of momentum this far, but can that momentum survive such a long break? New Jersey swept the Rangers in the first round, took a bye week, then lost to Carolina in five. They seemed like a completely different team. Anaheim crushed Colorado four straight, but then the Ducks went down with barely a squawk against Edmonton. They had eight days off. The above is not good.

2) Best defenseman: Chris Pronger is hands down the best defenseman on the ice in this series. Although he had an inconsistent first season in Edmonton and a terrible showing for Canada in the Olympics, Pronger is playing like the beast he is in the playoffs. He has pinned opposing offensive threats in all three series thus far: Pavel Datsyuk, Joe Thornton and Teemu Selanne. He has been averaging an incredible 31 minutes per game, and is Conn Smythe’s clear favorite for playoff MVP if he wins Edmonton. He’s impressive in his own zone, but he also controls incredibly well, and he has 17 points in 17 games. Carolina will have to find a way to contain Pronger, or avoid him, if she wants to win.

3) Best small forward: Not only is Eric Staal the best small forward in this series, he is the leading scorer in the playoffs and is quickly becoming one of the best players in the league. He is an offensive machine and creates a difficult matchup for any team. Pronger will be on him like a glove, and Staal has yet to face a defender of his caliber in this postseason, so it will be telling, and key to Carolina’s fate, how he responds to that. He’s only 21 years old, so his response to that attention and the pressure of the series will be key, but he’s passed every test to this point. An interesting side note: Both Pronger and Staal were selected by the Carolina/Hartford franchise second overall in the draft: Staal in 2003 and Pronger 10 years earlier.

4) Veteran Presence: Both teams added veterans this year to stabilize the team and add the calming presence they needed to get to where they are. The new players complemented the long-time team members in both cases. In Edmonton, Michael Peca and Pronger were joined by team captain Jason Smith and plucky fan favorite Ryan Smyth. Carolina added former Oiler Doug Weight and Mark Recchi to help Rob Brind’amour, who is having a big postseason run, keep the locker room in line. So neither side will have an advantage when it comes to staying positive if things start to go wrong.

5) Goaltending – The goaltending situation couldn’t be more different for the two teams. The Oilers picked up Dwayne Roloson from Minnesota at the trade deadline. He was horrible for the rest of the season, but he’s been amazing in the playoffs. He’s 36, so he was already shaving when 22-year-old Cam Ward of Carolina was born. Martin Gerber was the starter going into the playoffs, but Ward got the opportunity from him and made the most of it. He was Carolina’s goalkeeper of the future, and the future is apparently here. Neither team has a real advantage, unless the starters have problems or get hurt. Gerber can easily replace Ward and the team won’t suffer much, if he does, while Edmonton’s backup situation is a mess.

6) Special Teams: There’s a battle of the Titans when Edmonton gets a penalty, which they’re much more likely to do than Carolina. The Hurricanes have the best power play in the playoffs, while Edmonton has outperformed every other team when it comes to penalties. Obviously, both teams will not be able to get away with it. Whichever side comes out and sets the tone early will have an impact on the series. Edmonton can avoid the situation by showing more discipline than they have so far, but that’s unlikely given their aggressive style of play.

7) Home ice advantage: Both arenas are as noisy as any in the league, so the home team should have an advantage. Carolina has taken advantage of home cooking, going 6-1 since losing its first two games at home against Montreal. To make things interesting, Edmonton has been strong along the way. They have gone 6-3, including three wins at Anaheim. The ice in Carolina is going to be horrible, soft and unpredictable, so Carolina could have an advantage there, like Tampa Bay did in 2004. Carolina has home court advantage to start the series, if they can capitalize on that, they should be able to get ahead.

8) Underrated Players – Both teams have players who don’t get the ink to match their game. Cory Stillman has 19 points in 18 games for Carolina. His presence has meant teams can’t focus on Staal. His experience and presence are also as valuable as his offense. Stillman is defending his Cup victory with Tampa Bay in 2004. For Edmonton, the pleasant surprise has been Shawn Horcoff, their No. 1 center who has 17 points in 17 games. He continues to play the game that he discovered this season. Both players will be key to their team’s success, and whoever plays better could make the difference in the series.

2007 College Football – Illinois upsets Ohio State 28-21, creating a fight for the BCS title game

Ron Zook, who was cut as Florida head coach after failing to duplicate Steve Spurrier’s record with the Gators, regained some respect by motivating his Fighting Illini to a 28-21 victory over No. 1-ranked and undefeated Ohio State on Saturday (11-10-07).

The win marked the first time Illinois (8-3) has beaten a No. 1-ranked team since 1956, and the first time it has done so on the road. The loss ended Ohio State’s conference and school streak of 20 consecutive Big 10 wins by the Buckeyes, who are now 10-1.

The loss not only dashed Ohio State’s dream of a national championship, but left the Buckeyes tied with Michigan for first place in the Big 10 when Wisconsin defeated Michigan 37-21 on the same day.

Not since November 14, 1959, had Michigan and Ohio State lost the week before their annual year-end fight to decide the Big 10 title. That’s how it is in the Big 10, tedious and boring since in recent years it’s always Ohio State or Michigan capturing the title. Other Big 10 teams compete, but they never seem to contend for the title.

Illinois put up 260 rushing yards against Ohio State which entered the game giving up just 65 rushing yards per game. This was not much of a surprise as Illini now ranks sixth in rushing offense nationally, gaining 261 yards per game. In other words, Illinois was on their game and Ohio State was not.

Zook got off to a slow start as Illinois head coach, going 2-9 and 2-10 in his first two years before earning his eighth win on Saturday against 3 losses. Zook went 1-15 in his first two years of playing in the Big 10 Conference, going 0-8 in his first year. You can bet the other Big 10 coaches know who Ron Zook is now.

Was Ohio State looking beyond Illinois to Michigan? I think so. The Buckeyes fell to No. 7 in the AP Top 25 poll.

13th-ranked Michigan (now 8-3) was eliminated by Wisconsin (also 8-3), 37-21. The Badgers were serious at home as they took a 23-7 lead in the 4th quarter and matched the Wolverines’ 2 touchdowns to maintain their point margin and preserve their victory. Michigan slips to No. 23 in the AP Poll.

Boston College (8-2), number 8 in the ranking, was defeated for the second consecutive week, this time by Maryland (5-5), 42-35. All the talk about the Eagles’ defense is fading faster than fog on a hot summer day.

Other teams that were embarrassed this week included 16th-ranked Connecticut (8-2), which lost to Cincinnati (obviously a better 8-2 team), 27-3, and ranked 16th-ranked Alabama. 21 in the ranking (now 6-4). ) that was overturned by Mississippi State, (also 6-4), 17-12.

Imagine, the state of Mississippi, which has been the SEC’s doormat for years, rises up and pummels Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide. Even if the Bulldogs lose to Arkansas and in-state rival Mississippi, the state of Mississippi is already eligible to bowl.

Alabama should handle Louisiana-Monroe next week and become bowl eligible with its seventh win.

Ohio State’s loss allowed a few other contenders to brag a bit against much weaker competition. Here are some examples:

1) No. 2-ranked LSU (9-1) ranked No. 107 Louisiana Tech (4-6), 58-10.

2) Oklahoma (9-1), ranked No. 4, defeated Baylor (3-8), ranked No. 119, 52-21.

3) No. 19-ranked Boise State (9-1) edged out hapless No. 166 Utah State (0-10), 52-0. Despite its rating, the state of Utah is a Division 1A school.

Only two 1A teams remain undefeated-No. Kansas (10-0) ranked No. 5 and Hawaii (9-0) ranked 14. The Jayhawks caught 4 touchdowns from No. 49-ranked Oklahoma State (5-5) but still won 43-28.

The Hawaii Warriors, ranked 14th but ranked 29th by Sagarin, were outscored 14-3 in the fourth quarter by Fresno State (6-4), ranked 74th, but outscored the Bulldogs, 37- 30, to remain undefeated. . Hawaii rose to 13th place in Sunday’s new AP poll.

In two weeks, Hawaii will host Boise State, now 17th in the poll and a serious threat, even in an away game, to beat the Warriors. Boise State is not to be confused with the cupcakes Hawaii has been playing all season. After the Boise State game, we’ll find out who’s down and who’s down.

The fact that Kansas and Hawaii are the only two remaining undefeated teams should come as no surprise for two reasons. One, Hawaii ranks first (50 ppg) and Kansas 2nd (45 ppg) nationally in scoring offense, and two, Kansas’ schedule strength is 97 and Hawaii’s is 157 among 119 schools. from Division 1A, which isn’t exactly impressive either way.

Two other games deserve attention: the Navy-North Texas fiasco and the impending Harvard-Yale matchup in the Ivy League.

No. 77-ranked Navy (6-4) held on for dear life to beat No. 180-ranked North Texas (1-8), 74-62, in a game without a shred of defense that set a new college record important for a combined game score. The 94 points in the first half (North Texas led 49-45) and the combined 63 points in the second quarter set major college records.

Just two weeks earlier, Weber State outscored Portland State, 73-68, to set the all-division record.

These basketball score soccer games tend to confuse everyone. Clearly, there is more interest in a 73-68 game than a 6-3 pressure game that emphasizes defensive play. That said, these high score games are getting ridiculous. They remind me of minor league baseball scores before they put limits on so everyone could go home and go to bed on time.

Harvard (7-2) beat Penn (3-6) 23-7 and Yale (9-0) remained undefeated, beating Princeton (another 3-6 team), 27-6, to set up a big matchup. at Yale in the 1-AA Ivy League. Both Harvard (ranked 152) and Yale (ranked 100) are a perfect 6-0 in the league and will meet undefeated for the first time since 1968 with the title on the line.

Last year, Yale beat Harvard at Harvard 34-13 to claim a share of the Ivy League title with Princeton. The victory over Harvard last year was the first since 2000. Stay tuned for this matchup as it is serious business in the New England area.

He doesn’t call – should I call him? dating tips for women

Calling a new boyfriend into your life is a tricky business. As always, when you start dating someone, you’re not sure if the person shares your feelings. You don’t want to come out too hard and too fast. But what if the new man in your life perceives that you are not interested in him if you don’t call him at all and always wait for him to call first? And what do you do if the man you just started dating sends you a text message? Should I call or text him, he asks. Should I always wait for him to initiate contact with me or should I go ahead and let him know I’m interested in seeing him?

Some men like to get some kind of signal from a woman that gives them the green light to call her. Too many times I hear from women, great date but he doesn’t call. What does it mean? The date was great, he had a great time, he laughed a lot; we kissed then he told me, I’ll call you but he doesn’t call. It’s been a week and I haven’t heard from him. What does it mean? Does that mean he likes me? Or does it mean that he is a player? Does he really like me and how can I tell if he really likes me or just likes me okay? Is there any way to know if he will call him? And if so, when will he call him?

While there are ways to predict with some accuracy whether or not he will call you, don’t put all your eggs in his basket. Always make sure to diversify your options when it comes to dating. Whether or not you should call him when he doesn’t call will depend on the dynamics of your developing relationship.

The beginning stages of a relationship can leave a woman in a state of confusion not knowing if the man likes her, if he will call her, and when. The general rule of thumb for calling in a new dating relationship is that phone calls should be balanced between you and him. As your relationship progresses and your new boyfriend’s phone calls become more frequent, you don’t have to worry.

But what if your boyfriend or a new man in your life doesn’t call you as often as you’d like? And what happens when your man stops calling you?

Green Bay Packers – Will the 3-4 lineup be the key?

The 2008 season may not have given the Green Bay Packers a ticket to the Super Bowl, but the team played with class and spirit throughout the season. There was no lack of fan support, as after the opening game it was nearly impossible to find available tickets for the Green Bay Packers. The team has had some compensatory moments lately because of quarterback issues, but it managed to smooth out enough ruffled feathers to at least appear cohesive to casual observers. This year there doesn’t seem to be the same kind of unsettling undertones to worry about so the team can get down to the business of fielding a winning lineup.

A look back in time

This professional football group had some humble beginnings dating back to August 11, 1919. That’s when a small group of youngsters gathered in a small, dusty room inside the Green Bay-Press Gazette building and decided to form a team to play the sport of soccer One of the men got his employer to pay for the jerseys and the company agreed to let the team use the company field for practice. The name of this company long ago was the Indian Packing Company, which led the team to adopt the name “Packers”. After a very successful first two years, the team attracted the interest of some private sponsors within the company. In 1921, the Packers were granted a franchise by the National Football League organization. During these early years, the team had numerous financial setbacks as they tried to shore up support with Green Bay Packers ticket sales. In the 1930s, there were still loyal fans, but the money for sporting events was more than most people had.

hall of fame memorabilia

Fans are proud of the titles their Packers have won, but they’re also proud of the 21 Pro Football Hall of Famers who come from the ranks of Green Bay. Only the Chicago Bears can claim more players who have been selected for this honor. Some of the biggest player and coaching names in the Green Bay Packers organization include Coach Vincent Lombardi, Bart Starr, Willie Davis, and Ray Nitschke. Another standout for the team in recent times has been their former quarterback, Brett Favre.

Green Bay Packers Highlights

With a dozen championships under their belt, the Green Bay Packers team leads the league in titles. 3 of their championships were won between 1929 and 1931. The Packers then added an additional 9 titles during the following years when the NFL playoffs were enacted. Not only has Green Bay been the only professional football team to win 3 titles in 3 years, they have accomplished this feat twice, the last time in 1965-1966 and 1967.

The Packers have 3 Super Bowl championships in their team record books. They played and won the first 2 Super Bowl games in 1966 and 1967, and then beat New England in 1996 by a score of 35-21. The Chicago Bears currently have only 9 titles, the Colts have 4, the New York Giants can claim a total of 7, and Dallas has 5 titles of its own.

Eager and enthusiastic fans

Cheese Heads is the term for Packers fans, and their enthusiastic loyalty to their team runs deep. The popularity of the football club is legendary, and every time they play at home, the whole town takes on a festive and celebratory air. When the gates of the stadium open for home games, it is almost impossible to find available parking spaces for several kilometers. For nearly 50 years, football fans have made sure Green Bay Packers tickets are always in limited supply. Given the fact that the team has already posted nearly a half-century of sold-out season tickets, it’s obvious how dedicated the team’s support really is.

Packers plan to fire up defense as they chase title 13

The Green Bay Packers hope to get their newly signed free agent, Anthony Smith, to work as quickly as possible. Smith has been with the Pittsburgh team for 3 years and played a pivotal role in their 2008 championship run. Darren Perry, who is now the Green Bay Packers’ new secondary coach, expects Smith to be a key player as the team is switching from a 4-3 defensive plan to the 3-4 lineup Smith’s previous team used. The next few months will be the time to see how this new strategy is playing out, but you can believe that those fans who don’t have Green Bay Packers tickets in hand are going to be scheming how to get some.

Where does technical education take us?

Today’s industry is so saturated with engineers and MBAs that half of them are out of a job. Around 20% of the graduates who end up having a job will be in the role that doesn’t need the degree or in IT. Companies began glamorizing MBAs a decade ago. Having an MBA from top-tier universities helped startups attract funding from investors because of the confidence they had in these luxury degrees. The truth is far from this. MBA’s are not getting the right kind of job, but they fit into the job the right way. Yes, the nature of the flexibility is what attracted employers and not really the technical knowledge. Now, this scenario is over. Almost all multinational companies are saturated with MBA which companies feel is overwhelming.

Given all this, the question is what is he after after all? The world does not chase after anything, but we manage the world with advances in the processes and things we do. The most favorite job in the year 2018 was data science and more than half of the world’s population has never even heard of the term. A graduate with a data analysis certification.
with good experience you will end up working as a data analyst and grow further to become a data scientist. These guys are paid a very attractive salary and there are better chances that these guys will become millionaires in the next half decade. But what about the rest of us who rely on our engineering and MBA degrees and are waiting for a job? Sooner or later we will realize that we are obsolete in the world of technical education and that our engineering career no longer changes any process or protocol.

There are huge sets of innovation around the world in terms of data processing. There is also a lot of data that is collected and believe me, this data makes a company profitable from millions to billions. The world’s largest data curator is Facebook. In addition to earning from ads, they earn from data. There are many companies that win with data and this is where the greatest opportunity lies. For all graduates, we recommend that you choose a course that will help you perform better in the long run and also the one that will not go out of style. Big Data Analytics courses are short-term courses that teach you from the basics to advanced versions of Big Data processing and the very nature of Big Data is the insights it can give you.

The Pros and Cons of GBC Laminate

Given the luxury of selecting a laminator, a buyer can’t go wrong with a HeatSeal tool courtesy of GBC. Such a machine has many juicy features as a prelude to the amazing end products of the tool. Among GBC’s HeatSeal editions, the H525 is an incredible tool for home and office use. Let’s probe more deeply the positive and negative dimensions of this machine.

PLUS:

* The H525 has a 12.5-inch-wide feed opening. It’s a huge size because it means the user can adapt to laminate letter-sized items and smaller documents like business cards.

* Laminating bags come in a variety of thicknesses with items measuring thicker than 10 mil. (One mil is equal to 0.001 of 1 inch.) The tool can be modified with bags ranging from 1.5 to 10 mil. The user is also recommended to use mounting plates and self-adhesive bags with this machine.

* The H525 has four built-in heated rollers. These joins help ensure that user documents are free from flaws caused by heat marks and consequential defects.

* Since a user has never used a laminator before, buyers will find that applying the H525 is very easy. At the front of the tool there is a digital keyboard, as well as an LCD panel that will allow the user to maintain control of the machine. An average user is expected to become familiar with its function in a few minutes of practice.

* The machine has a variable temperature system, cold included. Cold lamination is suitable for photographs and any items printed with water-based ink inscriptions because these marks are at high risk of being damaged by heat. User is advised to use self-adhesive bags instead for this time of lamination projects.

* When a user is in a hurry, using this tool probably won’t cause any more delays because it heats up after 5 minutes of warm-up. (The tool will beep when the feed opening lights up as the machine heats up.) Add up, the machine can laminate a 20-inch item in as little as 1 minute suggested time.

* Jams are inevitable in a lamination process. Lady luck plays, the H525 has a reverse mode that can help stop any traffic jams when they happen.

* The H525 boost from a 1-year covered limited warranty program.

LESS:

* The tool is marketed as a carrierless lamination provider. Since this is technically correct, the user should insist on using a carrier as a precaution because the practice will keep foreign lamination away from the inside surface of the machine. When any part of the tool jams, the buildup can cause the machine to cost the user more time and money.

* The H525 is obviously bulky due to its frame dimensions of 23.25″ (W) x 14.5″ (D) x 8.75″ (H). It boils down to finding its placement as a difficult home fixture or the office.

All in all, the GBC HeatSeal H525 is a fantastic laminator. Possessing most, if not all, of the most sought-after qualities in a laminator, it can offer such as a cold fit, a wide fare opening, and the ability to accommodate mounting boards. Add-in, the tool will without fail provide crystal clear products. All a user needs to constantly remember is not to forget a carrier as a precautionary measure to better protect their investment. Decide to buy this tool today so you can laminate what is essential for you.

Marinate or macerate? Definitions and a Recipe for Tea-Soaked Strawberries and Blueberries

As cooks become more experienced, they learn new techniques and terms. I have been cooking for decades and have a pretty good understanding of both. But if you’re still a stranger to the kitchen you may not be familiar with techniques or terms, especially similar ones like marinate and marinate.

So what is the difference? When you marinate foods, you submerge them in a liquid mixture to flavor and soften them. Teriyaki marinade is a good example. You can buy this marinade, a combination of soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, cooking oil, and ginger, but I don’t think it’s as good as homemade. In a word, homemade tastes fresher.

According to the Epicurious website, the word marinade means “soaking food such as meat, fish, or vegetables in a seasoned liquid mixture.” The marinade adds flavor to meat, fish, poultry, and vegetables. The website warns against marinating food in an aluminum container. To avoid a chemical reaction between acid and aluminum, you should always marinate food in a glass, ceramic, or stainless steel container.

In her book, “A Matter of Taste,” Sylvia Windle Humphrey refers to marinades as “beauty dips that touch up cheap cuts of meat and leftovers.” What a description! According to Hunphrey, marinades work just as well with expensive cuts of meat as they do with cheaper ones. She says the process originated with ocean-going ships that marinated fish in brine to preserve it.

Marinating refers to the same process, soaking food in a seasoned liquid to infuse flavor, but the term applies to fruit. The Epicurious website says that “a liquor such as brandy, rum, or liqueur is usually in the mash.” This recipe for Macerated Strawberries and Blueberries Soaked in Black Current Tea is easy and incredibly delicious. You can add raspberries if you like.

Ingredients

1/3 cup boiling water
1 black currant tea bag
1/2 cup reduced sugar strawberry jam (raspberry can be substituted)
1 tablespoon of honey
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup quartered strawberries
1 cup of blueberries

method

Boil water in microwave. Add the tea bag and steep for 4-5 minutes. Beat together strawberry jam, honey and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth. Gently add the strawberries and blueberries to the sauce and marinate for an hour. Serve in highball glasses and top with sweetened whipped cream or pour over vanilla ice cream. If you’re feeling adventurous, pour the fruit and syrup over warm waffles. Make four servings.

Mother of Bamboo – Women using bamboo to escape poverty in Tanzania

In a country where AIDS/HIV rates are on the rise and most young women have no choice but to prostitute themselves, there is a mother trying to fight that trend. Pauline Samata, called the “Mother of Bamboo”, has made it her mission in life to raise awareness of the wonders of bamboo and empower women to make bamboo products as a means of escaping poverty.

INBAR, with the help of an IFAD grant, embarked on the Livelihoods and Economic Development Program in 2001 with the aim of creating sustainable rural livelihoods and enterprises through the use of bamboo and rattan products. INBAR aims to empower rural communities by showing them production techniques and focusing on bamboo harvesting and cultivation to ensure that local resources are used sustainably. The idea of using bamboo to help lift countries out of poverty is gaining popularity.

And Samata has taken advantage of this program with enthusiasm. She was part of a South-South exchange in which he visited China and the Philippines to discover the enormous potential of bamboo. He learned to build bamboo houses, bamboo furniture, and bamboo scarves. And he learned that he could save time, energy and the surrounding forests by replacing his firewood with bamboo charcoal. More importantly, she realized that women in her country could be an integral part of the production of bamboo products and could lift themselves out of poverty.

“I didn’t know the wonders of this plant, until the day IFAD and INBAR sent me to China and the Philippines for training,” says Samata. “This is why I want everyone to understand the potential of bamboo and the many things they can do with this plant. Mothers need money to feed their children, but because their choice of employment is limited, they end up falling into the trap of prostitution. .”

Samata wasted no time on his return. She quickly formed the Mbeya Bamboo Women’s Group and organized training courses for the women of her community. Her goal is to prevent her partners from falling victim to prostitution and save them from the HIV/AIDS pandemic in sub-Saharan Africa.

Samata training courses are free but there is a condition: women must stay with her in the community for at least six months. So far she has trained more than 60 women to work with bamboo. As the women, who have had little access to education, live in her community, she also teaches them basic skills like counting and how to write their names.

And Samata’s vision continues to grow. She is teaching women how to build their own bamboo houses to escape the trap of renting and having a house of their own. She has started building a large integrated workshop and store on her land in Mbeya. She is exploring new potential markets for her products and has identified Zambia, Malawi, Kenya and Uganda as potentially viable. One day, she wants to have more to plant more bamboo.

Pauline Samata, the mother of bamboo, is helping to reduce poverty in her beloved country. Thanks to her efforts and those of others, today almost every household in the United Republic of Tanzania uses a bamboo product and many girls and young women earn a respectable living creating objects made from bamboo.

Samata’s new slogan is: Yes, you can! And indeed, they can!
