Don’t be afraid to show your personality on Facebook

Social media has allowed us entrepreneurs to start businesses cheaply and spread our message to thousands more people than we could have done otherwise. But, in the process, you must be careful not to only Post about your business. When you do that, you can just seem like an aggressive salesperson, and your followers may soon get bored and abandon you.

But the beauty of social media, especially Facebook, is that you can also show your followers who you are “outside of work.” You can spark their interest with photos and personal “lifestyle” posts.

Sharing parts of your life is a good way to help develop a “know, like, and trust” relationship with your audience. Posts that include things like funny photos and stories will make you seem more approachable and your followers are more likely to be interested in your products.

So, here are some fun ways to brighten the mood on Facebook and increase engagement with your followers:

1-Share your humor

Did your preschooler tell a funny story at breakfast? Feel free to share it. Did you have a fun conversation with your “beast”, teenager or grandfather? Share it. Everyone needs a bit of encouragement during the day, and laughing, of course, relieves stress.

2-What are your weekend plans?

Do you have a favorite hangout on Friday nights? Do your Saturdays find you on the soccer field? Will you support your favorite local charity by attending their annual race or gala? I guarantee you’ll get other soccer moms to feel sorry for you, and in the process, you can raise awareness with a local charity.

3-Do you love to travel? Share your suggestions and favorite locations

Whether you’re traveling for business or just pleasure, sharing notes from your favorite places can help others who are planning a business conference or personal trip. These types of posts are also great for starting conversations about vision boards and wish lists. Even if your clients don’t travel, they can still live vicariously through you!

4-Share your view at lunch time

Almost everyone enjoys leaving the office for lunch, so why not settle in a park, by the water, or on the beach and share your thoughts on Facebook? Even if you’re stuck indoors during bad weather, your sight can spark interesting conversations.

5-Show them your favorite hobbies

How do you relax after a long day at work? What pulls the strings of your heart and motivates you to overcome your workload so that you can enjoy your free time? Hobbies are a wonderful way to engage people in your posts. Show pictures of your workspace, your finished project, or just share how you discovered this hobby.

These are just a few ideas of what to share online to show that you are a real person with a real life outside of work. But, because you are so uniquely different from anyone else in the world, the list of what to share is limitless. So, show what makes YOU; show your talents outside of your job. Sharing these flashes of your personality and your life will attract your audience that wants to interact with you.

A brief history of DIRECTV

Perhaps the most popular satellite provider in the United States, DIRECTV® has a long and impressive history under its belt. So who is DIRECTV? And how did they get to where they are today?

DIRECTV – The early years

The satellite as we know it today began in 1984, when Hughes Electronics obtained approval from the FCC to build and operate a direct transmission satellite system, or DBS. The DIRECTV-1 satellite was launched on December 17, 1993, and in 1994 Hughes Electronics founded DIRECTV and launched the first North American offering of DBS service. Often called “minidish”, this new satellite dish was considerably smaller than what consumers were used to (approximately 18 inches in diameter) and much more manageable than those large and cumbersome TVRO satellite dishes of our past.

Along with its sleek and compact appearance, the minidish offered consumers a new way to receive satellite television broadcasts. Older TVRO antenna systems were analog only and based on open standards equipment. Minidish systems, on the other hand, were digital, offering clearer video and audio, and operated in a closed system that required special reception equipment. TVRO systems were also mobile, a necessary feature to allow them to pick up transmissions from multiple satellite systems, while minidish systems are stationary and receive all their programming from a specific satellite. In August 1994, DIRECTV launched its second satellite, DIRECTV-2, and had one million subscribers at the end of the year.

DIRECTV – Full steam

In 1995, DIRECTV authorized Toshiba and Uniden to begin manufacturing DBS systems. With a commitment of $ 170 million in advertising, DIRECTV prepared for expected subscriber growth and launched its third satellite, DIRECTV-3, in July.

In 1997, DIRECTV launched DIRECTV-6 and in 1998, with more than 4 million subscribers, DIRECTV Satellite entered into an agreement to purchase its partner, US Satellite Broadcasting for more than $ 1.3 billion in stock and cash. The merger gave DIRECTV customers access to USSB’s premier movie broadcast, increasing channel selection from 185 to 210. In July, DIRECTV invested $ 250 million in XM satellite radio.

1999 brought even more growth when DIRECTV acquired Primestar, Inc. and its 2.3 million subscribers. As part of the transaction, DIRECTV inherited Primestar’s satellite assets, specifically 11 transponders and two satellites, giving them high-powered DBS frequencies to provide full coverage of the continental United States. In addition to the Primestar acquisition, DIRECTV launched a new satellite of its own, DIRECTV-1R on October 10.

By 2001, DIRECTV Satellite had gained more than 10 million subscribers and in October announced its intention to merge with its main competitor, EchoStar Communications, the parent company of DISH Network. In November, DIRECTV teamed up with Music Choice and Wink Communications to announce a new interactive music commerce service that would allow consumers to purchase a CD of the song they were listening to directly through their remote control. This 24/7 feature was launched in September 2002.

EchoStar’s merger with DISH Network failed in 2003 and later that year, General Motors sold its majority stake in Hughes Electronics to News Corporation. 2003 also saw the introduction of a new high definition video recorder from DIRECTV and TiVo, as well as a second-generation model through a partnership with Philips. This was also the second year in a row that DIRECTV was named # 1 in customer service by JD Powers & Associates.

On November 11, 2003, DIRECTV enjoyed its 12 million customer milestone.

DIRECTV – Today

DIRECTV currently serves more than 14 million subscribers in the continental United States, as well as more than one million subscribers in Latin America. It continues to be the leading provider of consumer satellites and continues to expand its offerings through high definition and special interest packages such as NFL SUNDAY TICKET and TOTAL CHOICE® Mobile programming.

What does the future hold for DIRECTV?

With four new satellites expected by the end of 2007 and exclusive premium broadcast DVR advancements, DIRECTV continues to push the boundaries and expand the definition of satellite television entertainment. What’s next for DIRECTV?

If history offers any clues, it’s sure to be great!

Why don’t you make money online …

(Pssst … you have to act!)

I just finished teaching a 3 day intensive internet workshop. Each attendee spent 3 days on the edge of their seat as we delved into the nuts and bolts of internet marketing and sales while figuring out how to turn a small website into an unstoppable small business money maker.

And despite spending thousands of dollars to participate in this workshop, they share the same primary problems with most people who want to make money online, but don’t.

Problem n. # 1: They are making things too complicated. While I create millions of dollars in income online, most of what I do is the basics. I just do a lot of that.

Problem n. # 2: They are spending their time building complex websites and complicated sales processes. That is not where the money is made for beginners. You may also get confused and overwhelmed by the myriad of business opportunities and ideas out there.

Let’s go straight to the bottom. Here’s what you need to focus on to make money online as soon as humanly possible:

First: choose a product. Any product. Yours. Mine. I do not mind.

Second: if necessary, configure your website so that you are ready to collect money. Keep it simple. Don’t be confused. Don’t try to be Wal-Mart. They have everything. You want to focus only on this element.

Third – Advertise. Promote. Market. Do it relentlessly. Okay, that actually sounds like work. Is. But, for a very high salary … in the group of former Enron executives. Remember, you are running YOUR OWN business from home

Of course, you can’t relentlessly do this unless you actually run the first ad. A winning streak begins with the first win. An advertising campaign begins with the first advertisement.

And let me tell you something. People ask me, “How did I get where I am today?” “What did I do to get so great on the Internet?”

As I have repeatedly said. And again. Ad nausea. Earning money on the Internet is not that difficult. Most of what I do is not that unique. But, what I do that is different from the average Joe is that I do a lot of it. When I find something that works for me, I immediately jump into action to maximize my income.

My secret, and I wouldn’t call it a secret, is that I am relentless.

I trade without rest. Constantly. Consequently. Day and night. Night and day. Often. Always. That is the simple difference.

There are many smart internet marketers out there. Undoubtedly, many of them are much smarter than me. But I make a lot more money. Why? Because I am relentless.

What is the difference between being smart and ruthless?

I know a lot of very intelligent and well educated poor people. And I know a lot of millionaires who don’t seem so smart. I have a friend who dropped out of high school. His public company (he owns more than half) will raise more than 60 million this year and 10 or 12 million net. It is relentless. Oh yeah … he’s also very rich.

I know many people who are not experts on the Internet. But, they get $ 10,000 to $ 20,000 per month online. They discovered the real secret of how to make money online …

You don’t need to be an expert. You don’t have to be smart.

You have to do something, so be relentless!

Yours in success

Teach data entry to new hires

So everyone needs training, do we agree? Agreed! Let’s go!

Their new hire said they knew everything, wrote a million words per minute, and were fast as a gun. After handing out the assignments and handing out the materials, he found himself analyzing their performance only to find that he thinks they might be losing the fundamental skills needed to get the job done. You can consider your options at this time. Debating how much time we should say, donated, of their existing workload to teach the new hire how to do their job properly. Despite the fact that many large companies demonstrate how each new group of employees goes through some training process, be it a few days or a few weeks, many small business owners tend to ignore this. We can all understand that we hire someone to do work that we don’t have time to complete. The amount of time you will need to subtract from your own day (assuming you have to do the training yourself) should always be considered in order to teach a new hire how to do the job the way you want the job done.

Data entry It is no different from any other job, as it takes time for beginners to learn the rhythm before starting the job. The more help you can give them, the faster they will notice and start performing at the level you expected. So let’s examine some simple prerequisite skills as we begin to teach data entry.

  • Typing – Although it may not be as fundamental as some jobs, basic typing skills and speed will certainly influence overall performance.
  • Computer expert Understanding basic computer usage will likely go a long way toward speeding up data entry.
  • Web browsing skills – Again, as simple as it may sound, having the ability to understand and use the global web is probably critical.
  • Knowledge of photography / image – Does your data entry also require photos to be uploaded, or perhaps photos that you need to edit?
  • Reading and writing skills – Let’s face it, despite the simplicity of this skill, some people have it and some don’t.
  • Instruments – Nothing can be as important as the ability to provide the employee with the right tools for the job!
  • Good attitude and aptitude – Unfortunately, this process can be tedious for all parties involved.

We must ask ourselves what we can offer our employees to help them enter that data efficiently, quickly and, above all, in a pleasant way. Finding the right tools for the job will not only make you happy as an employer because the workflow is constant and fast-paced, but it also helps create happy workers. When you don’t have to get frustrated hitting block after block doing simple jobs, your workday seems to go more smoothly.

  • Typing teaching – I will spend very little time to cover this aspect. This is a problem faced by employers dating back to the typewriter. It is important to have someone with some typing skills when it comes to data entry. When faced with someone who is doing the old one finger routine, you most likely have two options. Send that employee to their next job in life, or if you’re determined to make it work, you can suggest they practice with programs like the ever-popular Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. There are also a ton of websites that offer this practice, however I believe that nothing more than practice will increase speed in this area.
  • Computer skills – Knowledge of computer science is another immediate issue that is often directly proportional to the time spent practicing. This can be another decisive item on the list based on your particular needs. If working with files and folders, pictures and other computer files is a requirement, arranging those files and the basic operations and file structures may be a must for your job. Teaching file structure, naming conventions, and simple utilities like copy and paste are just a few examples of basic computer skills that may be required.
  • Network experts – In today’s world, the Internet plays such an important role in business that it can be as important as typing and computing. Again, this may depend on what the exact needs of your job will be, but the ability to navigate the web, understand the web pages you are working with, and how to navigate to various websites and files may be a necessary thing to even get the information. which is required for data entry. Certainly, I would put a pin in anyone’s balloon if your new hire was unfamiliar with the web and unable to download the required documents and images to enter.
  • Photos and image editing – It all comes down to your needs, and if photo editing is part of the job, you may find it difficult to find a data entry expert who is also a graphic artist. I know, you’re saying this can’t be rocket science and I can’t need a graphic artist to do simple little photo edits before uploading my awesome products! As simple as those edits seem to you, it certainly takes some skill to edit photos on demand. In addition to finding someone who can do this, you should also be aware that you may need to purchase software for this purpose only if you don’t already have it. If all you need are simple edits, and you just want something that is fully featured and free, I highly recommend that you give the GIMP Image Manipulation Program a try.
  • Reading writing – You might get lucky with this particular aspect, as many popular programs like Microsoft Word have not only spell check features, but some advanced sentence fragment detection features as well. Google.com can also be your friend here. Anyone can quickly Google a word to discover spelling and other useful grammar-related information. This even works with other languages on Google too! Other free document writers that are free include Google Docs and LibreOffice Writer. There are dozens, if not hundreds or thousands of full-featured document writers (editors), one of whom is sure to get the job done.
  • Data entry tools
  • – First, you will need a comfortable chair. Okay, I’m just kidding when I say that (less than half, going down as we speak). Here are some tools that I use to make data entry easier for everyone in my office and at work remotely.

Tips and tools for new data entry hires:

  • ClipIt – I like it ClipIt however, I recommend using any Clipboard management software when it comes to doing data entry.
  • The snippet tool – Snippet tools or any quick screen capture software can be very helpful if you have to deal with image cropping and don’t need a full graphics manipulation program.
  • Adobe photoshop – This is if you need a full-featured graphical editor. I mentioned GIMP earlier, which is a less popular free alternative. Again, when it comes to software applications, the possibilities can be endless.
  • Have 2 monitors – It may sound crazy, it may sound simple, but the power behind using multiple monitors in a data entry environment is priceless.
  • Email clients and synced software – Consider using internal company email addresses for project assignment and tracking. Use software synchronization to allow employees to work from home, on a different computer, or on a different continent.
  • Is your data entry software optimized? – Having a simple and optimized app for your employees to use is key! The easier it is for them to understand and perform, the more they will do it.
  • Could you automate some of the work? – Sometimes basic data entry can be completely automated, and other times you can automate parts of the job to further simplify the steps required to get the job done.

Remember, it is your job as an employer to do the research, provide the tools, and provide the help you need to make sure you have the trained employees you need.

How We Will Check the Facts in Future Presidential Debates

The technology that complements presidential debates has been changing since the first officer in 1960. The advent of mass media, television, and now social media have allowed for greater interactions and reactions from viewers, which is certainly a welcome addition. to a process that attracts a meager 50% of eligible voters for the polls on Election Day. Yet the record 10.3 million tweets shared during the first Obama-Romney Debate suggest that even more people are watching, paying attention, and caring about this important process.

Not surprisingly, much of the talk focuses on the truth and lies shared by the opposing parties. Because humans are fallible fact-checkers, it takes too long to determine the truth, and it usually doesn’t come out until after the event, a partisan comment. And we’ve all seen the aftermath of a rogue real-time fact check. Which begs the question: with so many eyes and ears attentive to the same event, how can we make sure the truth is easily known?

The debate boils down to three modes of persuasion: ethos, pathos, and logos. Ethos is how well someone shows themselves as an insider, pathos is someone’s ability to connect with emotion, and logos is the appeal to logic through the use of facts and figures, which are not necessarily true. While ethos and logos are more delicate, logos are rooted in truth and should be held to a higher standard when introduced into a debate. Otherwise, we are relegated to a “he said she said” situation that gives credit to the best storyteller and not necessarily the best storyteller of the truth. We, as a people, deserve better.

There is technology all over the world and at IBM that is now being developed that aims to solve that problem. Questions involving facts and semantics can now be broken down and understood by computers. The answers can be found by leveraging the Internet and reported in seconds. This is not science fiction. IBM’s Watson computer made an impressive demonstration of this technology by defeating Jeopardy champion Ken Jennings in 2011. When it comes to data mining and data verification, computers do better. I think it is only a matter of time before this technology enters the political arena.

So what exactly are we waiting for? Some of the current issues involved include deciphering the exact meaning of what was said and how to extract the facts from misleading statements to refute them. There is also a level of precision that must be achieved before debuting with this technology, because a failure would be a major setback. It may not be ready yet, but I predict that by 2020 this technology will be incorporated into the presidential debates. After all, there is a need to say and it would be a wonderful PR opportunity for the creator, IBM or another. Although many of the human elements of the debate should remain the same, the facts are facts and should not be abused as modes of persuasion. You do not agree?

Now all we need are microphones that cut off when a candidate exceeds his time and we will be golden.

Business-to-Business Marketing: An Introduction

Many people often use the term business-to-business (B2B) marketing, but most don’t know exactly what it means. B2B activity, both online and offline, involves the marketing of services and goods that help other companies operate. Manufacturers, resellers, government, and nonprofits are the most common examples of B2B markets.

Business-to-business marketing is associated with five distinct concepts: the marketing exchange concept, the production shift concept, the product concept, the marketing myopia phenomenon, and the sales concept.

Converting leads to customers is an important goal of B2B marketing. Some B2B companies make some money from a customer base. But most of its capital comes from other businesses. A non-profit institution is a good example. Its operations normally depend on private donations from individuals. The organization also gets most of its money through government or corporate funds. For this reason, a non-profit institution makes its services or products attractive not only to the public, but also to other entrepreneurs.

A business-to-business marketing company typically focuses on relationship building and communication through marketing activities, producing leads that are nurtured throughout the sales cycle. The purchase decision is usually a multi-step process that involves more than one person. Therefore, companies use marketing strategies to teach various stakeholders of the target group. Components, equipment, raw materials, processing services and supplies are traded. Since B2B marketers target only other companies, they have considerably more specific markets than B2C marketers.

B2B marketing is now one of the fastest developing marketing fields. New technologies bring more companies together; therefore, companies begin to court each other much more acutely. Technology also makes the world a smaller place. Therefore, it is essential that sales and marketing experts understand and apply the principles of B2B marketing.

Get others to market your blog to you by writing epic stuff

I once read an article called “Write Epic Things.” It was a really inspiring article and correct in every way.

He said that too many blogs and websites are boring at worst and mediocre at best. And what people don’t want is another boring or mediocre website.

How to avoid mediocrity

Today, more often than ever, to be successful, your website must stand out from the rest.

Social media is the new wave of free marketing and it works like this:

  • You write epic stuff and upload it to your site.

  • Your site visitors love your epic stuff and share it on social media.

But your content has to be more than good or excellent or even fantastic.

It has to be epic.

How to write epic things

Before you can write epic content on a website, you need to know what the USP of your website is.

USP stands for Unique Selling Proposition.

So what makes your website unique?

To find out, you first need to know what your market is.

Who are you trying to attract to your website?

Who is your ideal visitor?

Once you know this (and you should be really sure), you can orient your writing towards them.

You will also need to know what they want to know. Ask yourself, what questions will they have and how can my website answer them?

This is what is known as a hungry market. People who are hungry for information. But you need to know what information they want.

Let social media work for you

There is no doubt that social media now plays an important role in online marketing. It has always been said that “content is king” and this has never been more true than with social networks.

People are busy using Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, etc., to share what they have discovered online that is fun, interesting, or remarkable.

So if someone visits your website, loves what they find there, and shares it through social media, this can be more effective marketing than anything you could have done yourself. They can even link to it from their own site.

But for people to want to share what you write, you first need to know something.

The ingredients of writing epic things

Writing anything online means that you are sharing information, and this information has to be so epic, so vital, that other people can’t help but share it too.

And for this you need 3 necessary ingredients

Your information must be:

  • Relevant

  • Righ now

  • Useful

Relevant means just that. What you write must be relevant to the person you are writing to.

Immediate means that they should be able to start using your information immediately.

Helpful means that they will find a lot of use in what you are telling them.

So before you write something, make sure you can see the immediate benefit your readers will get from reading your content online.

Ideally, your readers should also find a benefit for others in what you write so that they want to share it.

How long is epic writing?

Some people believe that epic writing means writing articles. But this is not always true

Think of memorable quotes. These are epic, but they certainly aren’t long.

But sometimes the epic writing is long. For example, many epic novels are huge volumes.
