Long Distance Parent: How to Ease a Child’s Longing Through a Video Call

Today, most parents need to come to terms with being separated (by working outside their home country) while longing for connection with their loved ones. They are synthesizing the best possible efforts and ideas to provide food, shelter, education, and love for their children.

Time will always test your flexibility. Wise decisions will make a difference in their lives. Your choice of work comes with great responsibilities and great privileges, which sometimes distances you from your loved ones. Working abroad is seeking greener pastures, and you boldly adapt to the new conditions of the new place. Living outside of your home country is difficult to accept, and being separated from loved ones is psychologically upsetting not only for parents, but especially for a child. However, be thankful that you now live in the computer age and everything is just a click away to send messages and video calls, and enjoy the pleasure of chatting while doing other tasks. Outside of your home, iPhone 3GS will bridge that gap. However, have you wondered how spending quality time with your child can ease the loneliness he experiences while you’re gone? How to build that close personal relationship between a parent and child in long-distance communication is through personal experience that could improve over time.

Availability. It is important that you allow your child to feel your presence most of the time. It is your daily task to video call him and ask him what happened during the day. Your child will be able to build trust and confidence to express her feelings. By asking, your child could explore a willingness to think rationally. Your presence can mean so much to him that he can be proud to tell other children about it.

Display. The power of your mind puts you in control, so your child will open his awareness to the things communicated. Online storytelling would be a lot of fun to allow you to share what you understand about the story which would eventually spark an open dialogue between a parent and child. Let your child share his candid story, too, and praise his wonderful storytelling. You are helping your child communicate and share her feelings. In visualization, it helps to prolong the conversation, making it more exciting for your child to create their own story from her visual perception. Listening on your behalf is a great role as a parent.

Make fun. Spice things up when you make an online call to your child. A child will never be without a bedtime game plan, and he wants to capture every bit of it for the ultimate joy. If he wants to pretend to be a superhero, let him feel the excitement. If he insists on typing his name on the computer, just let him do it and praise the job done by sending him some smileys like a star, smiley face or heart. There are web cameras to animate your video image into animation where your child could start a fairy talk. Take an interest in making your child’s world more exciting and fun.

Turn and invite. Using your webcam or mobile phone, you can tour it around your house and let it see your bedroom, TV, cabinet and other things, so it also knows that you are living well. You can also show him the photos you bring and keep all the time, and tell him how much you loved and treasured them. It is more fascinating if you promise that you will get it and that you will live with you.

Saying goodbye. The sad part of the conversation is the parting moment. Let your child feel that you are not being separated, but just because of a bedtime routine and need for rest, a full bedtime story reading would complete your child’s night, and before signing out, Extend your arms, as if you are reaching for your child for a hug. Forming your hands into the shape of a heart is an additional way to say goodbye. The last thing, tell him that you love him, and always make sure that you will see him again.

Home Kitchen

Increase the value of your home by upgrading your bathroom and kitchen

Is it time to sell your house? Whether it’s remodeling a home or trying to get a good price before a move, there are a few ways to gain value through a kitchen or bathroom remodel. Outdated kitchen and bathroom styles are the fastest way to make a home feel older and rundown. Here are some ideas to get you started on your renovations.

personalized design

A custom design makes the most sense when it comes to getting the most money for your home. Custom bathrooms are noticeable and make a difference in price. A real estate agent or homebuyer will be able to tell if the tiles and fixtures were simply put into the space or if they were made for the space. Avoid outrageous designs that might make classic homebuyers uncomfortable. You never want a space to appeal to only one particular type of style. Exquisite stonework with classics like natural stone, granite, slate, and travertine are always a good idea.

floor

The floor is important in a bathroom and linoleum is out of the question. Linoleum in the bathroom or kitchen can make a whole house look dated, ugly and dirty. Hardwood can take a real beating in these spaces and look old and worn quickly, even after refinishing. It is best to put ceramic, porcelain or natural stone tiles instead. These will hold up to a lot of foot traffic, clean up well, and always look good. They appeal to a modern home design and can go with just about anything a home buyer wants to decorate with.

bathtub

Baths can be purely conventional, or they can be home spas and relaxation areas. One way to create a fancier, more expensive feel is to create a separate bathtub and toilet. A hot tub can be a place to relax and break away from the conventional use of a shower. Travertine or marble make great custom tile jobs for a custom bath tub. Mosaic tiles work well to add decorative flair to a bathroom wall. IF the homebuyer finds your space relaxing, they will be excited to buy it. Make the bathroom, especially the master bathroom, a place they want to be.

kitchen countertops

As with the floors, linoleum is out. A granite kitchen countertop is your best bet. It looks great and is very practical. Choose a neutral color that can match any style your home buyer may have. Make sure it matches the cabinets, hardware, and flooring. Replace old cabinet hardware to match your new counters. The kitchen is the most used room in the house. Make it as modern, comfortable and conventional as possible.

Selling your home can be an overwhelming process. Start with these kitchen and bathroom tips to increase the value of your home. You can always add something of your own personal style and ideas. With the right blueprints, rocks, and accessories, you can easily get the most for your dollar.

How to earn above average income from Google AdSense

Earning above average income from Google AdSense requires research, patience, and skill. Creating original content that uses the highest paying keywords is one of the most important skills you’ll need to acquire.

The highest paying keywords can be researched using Google’s keyword research tool. This powerful tool will help you determine the top paying and searched keywords related to what you are looking for. With this keyword tool, you’ll also get a good idea about the advertiser’s competition, cost per click, and search volume.

If you allow Google AdSense to choose which Google ads will be placed on your site or blog, these keywords will be the key to your chosen content.

Investigation

To earn above average Google AdSense income, you need to understand how the whole process works. The rules in this section apply with or without serving AdSense.

Basically, the key to online fame is based on the amount of traffic you can drive to your blog or website. People have many theories about how this should be accomplished, but there are a few things that are a MUST.

Create content that has value, something that your target audience would appreciate reading. If they sense a sales pitch or scam, you’ll lose them forever.

Article sites are fine to use, but don’t hold back. This practice doesn’t really help your ranking. Search engines are smart and don’t favor duplicate content.

Keywords are value words and carry high search numbers. Let’s say in this case we choose “AdSense Software”. We could write it using Google’s keyword tool and compiling a list of keywords that we can use in our content.

5 tips for choosing the right ceiling medallion for your home

A ceiling medallion is an amazing accent for a wide range of types of ceiling lighting, from ceiling fans to chandeliers. Basically, a ceiling medallion is an ornamental piece that beautifies and enhances the surrounding areas around the ceiling canopy, where wiring from a chandelier or other light fixture enters the ceiling junction box.

These medallions come in a variety of finishes and sizes and can also be painted to match the room’s current décor. Opt for a medallion size that perfectly matches the fixtures along with the style and size of the room where it will be placed.

When choosing a ceiling medallion, consider the following 5 tips:

1. Size of the ceiling and the room

Calculate the dimensions of the room to decide what size medallion would ideally fit the space. Using a tape measure, measure both the width and the length of the room, then multiply both figures and divide by 7 to estimate the size of the medallion in inches. Also, take into account the height of the ceiling. Higher focal rooms and ceilings can be enhanced with larger medallions that would otherwise overwhelm a small space.

2. Ceiling fan style and size

Choose a medallion that is an ideal fit for size and that complements the style of the ceiling fan. The medallions should be bigger or smaller than the lamp, not the base, but the lamp itself. Matching the size of the medallion to that of the lamp will visually compress the size of the room. Since ceiling fans have a larger radius, you should choose a medallion with a smaller diameter than the fan itself.

3. To paint or not to paint?

You can match your trim with a nice glossy paint or you can just go for an accent color. Most ceiling medallions are purchased primed and ready to paint. The final answer, of course, will depend on your preferences and the current decoration of your room. It’s always a good idea to get inspired first and then make a final decision, so be sure to search the internet for ideas.

4. Not sure of the position? center it

If you love the idea of having a medallion but aren’t sure where to put it, go for the center position. Symmetry is aesthetically pleasing, and accentuating the center point can help bring the room together, especially when it comes to larger spaces.

To determine the center of a rectangular room, find the length of one of the shorter walls. Determine the center point of the wall and mark it. Do the same with the adjacent wall. Now use a laser plummet or chalk to draw a line between the two points. Continue the process using the focal points of the longer walls. The point where the two lines meet is the center of the room.

5. Consider ceiling fixtures

When thinking about where to place a visual feature on the floor, it can be easy to overlook features on the ceiling. These will affect how you actually perceive the floor. Accent lamps, ceiling fans, and sconces tend to draw attention up and down your space. You can place the ceiling medallion in the center of a room, but if your chandelier isn’t perfectly centered either, that variation will give the impression of a medallion out of place. To correct this problem, try to align the medallion with the focal point of the lamp, using a plumb bob for accuracy.

On the other hand, if you decide not to place the medallion in the center, make sure it at least appears deliberate. A ceiling medallion that is partially offset from the visual center of a room will look strange and like a mistake. However, if it’s pretty clear that it was never intended to be placed in the heart of the room, the asymmetry won’t be as distracting. The secret is to create visual harmony, which means that the parts must fit with the whole room so that each element seems to be in its right place.

Can you eat unlimited amounts of fruit on the Nutrisystem diet?

There is no question that fruits and vegetables are an important part of the Nutrisystem diet. Some people want to take full advantage of this and wonder if they can eat an unlimited amount of fruits. It doesn’t surprise me that more people ask about eating fruits than vegetables.

I heard someone say, “I’m interested in starting the Nutrisystem diet relatively soon. But I wonder if I’ll be able to eat a lot of fruit? I love sweets and even though I know I’ll have to give up my cookies, I feel like bananas and kiwi are a substitute.” decent, at least while I’m on a diet. But I wonder if there will be limitations on how much I can eat.” I will address these concerns below.

I find that there is sometimes confusion about unlimited fruits and vegetables on this diet. Many non-starchy vegetables ARE unlimited, but only those that have a low glycemic index. (Examples are tomatoes, asparagus, and broccoli.) You may already know this, but Nutrisystem encourages and provides foods that are glycemic friendly, meaning they are lower in starches and carbohydrates to keep you feeling full and to maintain your blood sugar. continually. You are encouraged to eat more foods that are glycemic friendly and fewer foods that are not.

That is why the fruits are not unlimited. They tend to be higher in natural sugars. (For example, an apple can have more than 25 grams of sugars, although these sugars are more beneficial than processed ones because they are easily converted into energy.) And although it is recommended to eat up to three servings of fruit a day, these are not unlimited. But the portion sizes are generous. For example, a serving is one apple, one banana, or one whole cup of blueberries, cherries, strawberries, or pineapple, to name just a few examples.

It is suggested to take a fruit at breakfast, plus another at one of the main meals or as a snack. And you can have a fruit or a vegetable with dinner. That’s up to three a day if you choose fruit over vegetables for dinner. Breakfast is suggested because it is usually very easy to incorporate fruit into breakfast. Just add strawberries to your cereal or blueberries on top of your French toast. It’s also easy to add fruit to a protein-based snack. Cherries on top of Greek yogurt or cottage cheese are a quick, easy, and nutritious way to fit a serving into your day.

I know this question was based on having a lot of fruit but believe it or not, sometimes people ask me if they can skip the fruit because they don’t like it. You shouldn’t omit the fruit, but you can substitute four ounces of plain fruit juice with no added sugar.

I know not having unlimited fruits may seem like a negative, but honestly, you are also being asked to add vegetables and protein. So you have a lot of new sides that you’re trying to work on. So you usually have more than enough.

Protecting Government Benefits with Special Needs Trusts

A special needs trust (SNT) is a trust designed to supplement the needs of a person whose necessary living or medical expenses are paid for through programs such as Medicaid or SSI. Because these programs are “means-proof,” based in part on income, an SNT allows a beneficiary to continue receiving assistance despite an increase in income or assets. In general, excess funds are placed in the SNT, which then pays the beneficiary’s expenses. additional necessities such as recreation and consumer goods that would not otherwise be covered by government benefits. Here are some examples:

Divorce and the disabled child. Disabled children receiving SSI risk a reduction or termination of benefits when one parent must pay child support. Receiving child support can reduce SSI benefits by one-third for children under age 18 and dollar-for-dollar for children age 18 and over. Instead of funds being transferred directly, child support can be placed in an SNT which diverts the income from the child. Because SSI covers food, shelter, and utility expenses, SNT can pay other life-enhancing benefits such as vacations, electronics or specialized vehicles, all while maintaining the child’s right to government benefits.

Personal Injury Settlements. Personal injury settlements are designed in part to cover the individual’s future medical expenses and needs. A portion of the settlement may also be awarded as “punishment” for the defendant’s wrongful conduct. However, disabled people receiving SSI and Medicaid risk being disqualified from receiving a lump sum settlement. In addition, Medicaid may be entitled to recover the medical care part of the settlement. To avoid disqualification from these significant government benefits, an SNT may be established to accept the net proceeds of the liquidation. Money placed in the SNT can be used to purchase complementary goods and services that enhance, rather than replace, government benefits. Similar to the example above, SNT funds can be used to plan vacations for the disabled person, purchase specially equipped vehicles, and provide other amenities, including consumer goods or beauty services.

Third Party SNTs. A third party special needs trust involves the same concepts as described above. However, the SNT is financed with the assets of a third for the benefit of the disabled person. For example, a grandparent, friend, or other person who is not legally responsible for the beneficiary may establish an SNT to pay for the supplemental needs of another. In addition to helping the disabled person, a grantor who funds a third-party SNT for the benefit of their disabled child may partially avoid the five-year lookback period for their own Medicaid qualification.

worth considering. Special needs trusts can be a powerful tool in planning the ongoing care of a disabled person or in helping the grantor achieve their own Medicaid eligibility. You may want to explore whether an SNT is right for you or someone you love.

Pilates can help PMS symptoms

If you suffer from PMS (premenstrual syndrome), keep in mind that you can find relief through the regular practice of Pilates. There are other ways you can reduce systems as well, such as making lifestyle changes, eating a healthy diet, and exercising regularly. In this article I am going to share with you some of the ways that you can use Pilates to reduce symptoms.

Premenstrual syndrome is estimated to affect between 75% and 80% of all menstruating women. Symptoms are varied but can include back pain, mood swings, headaches, and breast tenderness. Fluctuating hormones are believed to cause the symptoms. Let’s look at each symptom and how Pilates can help.

Back pain. Practicing some form of exercise for 30-40 minutes 3-5 days a week can not only keep our bodies in shape, but also keep our muscles stretched and strengthened. One of the benefits of Pilates is that the spine is mobilized during the exercises and this can relieve tight back muscles and nerves affected by uterine contractions.

Discomfort in the stomach area and menstrual cramps can be relieved by lying on your back with your knees raised and bent. Inhale and as you exhale, lift your hips off the ground. Making sure to curl along your spine, inhale again at the top of the movement, then exhale as you come back down, one vertebra at a time.

The cat stretch is another movement that will help relieve your back. Get on all fours, and then bend your back into an arch, like a cat. Inhale and exhale with each movement. Each breath will massage your internal organs and the back stretch will release tension around the spine.

Finish with child’s pose. Sit with your hips on your heels and stretch your arms out in front of you as you walk forward, bending your back. Do this for as long as you want.

Menstrual cramps. Any exercise that works the abs can help with menstrual cramps. Exercising with deep breathing can produce endorphins that will not only help relieve pain, but also leave you with a sense of well-being.

Lateral hip extension can be of great benefit. To do this, you need to lie on your right side. Put your right hand under your head with the weight of your head on your arm. Now place your legs straight and in front of you at 30 degrees. Now lift your left leg, bring it forward and point your toe, then push it back for a count of two. Keep your torso and hips in the same position as you repeat this up to ten times. Then work on the other side.

Pilates can do a lot for the PMS sufferer. Remember that maintaining a healthy diet can also do a lot of good. Avoid white flours, refined sugar, and keep dairy intake low. Round out your meals with fresh vegetables, salads, and fresh fruits to keep your immune system and hormones at their best. Pilates is powerful medicine, and if you practice it regularly and consistently, you can alleviate some, if not all, of the symptoms of PMS.

Help for Homeowners Behind on Their Mortgage

There are many options for homeowners experiencing difficulty paying their mortgage. What are they and how might they work in your situation?

loan modification: The lender modifies the terms of your loan by either lowering your interest rate, locking in your interest rate if you have an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM), or extending the length of your loan from 30 to 40 years. The goal is for your monthly payment to reach 31% of your gross monthly income (before taxes). To get started on this, call your lender and ask them to consider you for HAMP (Home Affordable Modification Program). This works best if you are currently employed in some capacity.

Patience: A lender takes what’s past due, including fees, and breaks it up into smaller payments over several months to help you catch up. Watch out, you still have to make your regular mortgage payment on top of this. This is primarily for those with short-term job loss or short-term illness who fell behind but are now able to catch up or will be in the near future. To get started with this option, call your lender and let them know your situation, but make sure you can afford the payment PLUS your regular monthly payment.

dirty shorts: Selling your house with an agent even though you owe more than it is currently worth. The lender pays the agents’ commissions and the bank will have to approve the sale price. You must be able to prove 3 things: You have NO assets (other than a 401k), you are struggling and behind on your mortgage or will be behind soon if you don’t sell. A hardship could be illness, death of a loved one, divorce, unemployment, pay increase (due to ARM), extreme debt, job transfer. Note: Some lenders like you to go through the loan modification process first. The new HAFA program will start in April 2010.

Deed-in-Lieu of Foreclosure: Often referred to as friendly foreclosure. This must be approved by your lender and getting their approval can be difficult. How does it work? The lender allows you to send them the keys and sign the deed to the bank. This can be bad for your credit. Call your lender and ask them to explain their process to you. The bank can still pursue you for a deficiency judgment at a later time.

Deed of Lease: Loans backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac may allow this option. Here you sign the deed and they allow you to rent the property to them for a negotiated monthly rent.

Mortgage’s trial: The bank recovers the property. The house is sold in an attempt to get the bank to recover part of what is owed to them. You can be prosecuted for a deficiency judgment by the bank.

The first step you should take if you are having trouble paying your mortgage is to call your lender…let them know. Ask them to consider you for the HAMP loan modification program. Then, call a free consumer debt counselor and get their help in reviewing your financial situation so you know what payment you can afford.

If you’re unemployed and can’t afford your mortgage, consider finding roommates or renting out your home and finding something more affordable. A short sale can allow you to get out of your payments and rent for less until you can buy again. There are housing assistance programs in most areas to offer financial help with housing expenses. Ask a friend or family member to let you stay with them until you can recover. The key is to be proactive, know your options, and work with your lender. If you decide to do a short sale, get a trained real estate agent. In any case, the worst that can be done is nothing. Don’t let your home go into foreclosure, it can be emotionally traumatic and very damaging to your credit. There are many other options.

Nintendo DS Movie Player plays movies and music on your Nintendo DS and GBA

I’m always looking for the latest gaming gadgets and accessories. Whether they are from third-party manufacturers or from the creators of the system themselves. But I have to admit that when I first heard about Nintendo’s Movie Player add-on for the Nintendo DS, I was quite surprised.

The reason for my surprise was quite simple. You see, I’ve been watching movies on my Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS, well, since their release date, with a really cool little accessory called the NDS/GBA Movie Player.

After some googling, I’m equally surprised that more Nintendo DS (or Game Boy Advance) owners haven’t heard of this truly unique accessory for their Nintendo DS. It seems that perhaps with all the hype around the Sony PSP and its movie-playing capabilities, we’ve all forgotten to take a look at the less expensive Nintendo DS as more than just a portable gaming system.

What really made this accessory a must have for me, was the fact that, in addition to movies, I could also listen to my MP3 music on my Nintendo DS, just like Sony PSP owners. I won’t get into the debate about which handheld system is better or offers more… That would negate the real reason for this article, which is simply to show Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance owners that their fun little handheld gaming system is as well It is capable of playing all types of multimedia files.

The GBA/NDS Movie Player lets you use your Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP, or Game Boy Micro to play video and audio files and read eBooks from standard Compact Flash cards. And before you think that you will only be able to watch movie snippets or short films, let me be clear that you can watch an entire movie with the movie player. You can use your PC and a regular Compact Flash card reader to transfer and convert your media files to Compact Flash cards. The included software even converts files directly from DVD to the appropriate movie player format.

And before you think it’s going to take a rocket scientist to convert your DVD movie to the proper file type, think again! The software is so easy to use that it requires you to do nothing more than insert the DVD movie you want to convert, or the digital file if you have one. While this is not a special format, so to speak, UMD movie discs are for the Sony PSP. In fact, you can take any DVD movie you own and convert it with the included software for playback on your Nintendo DS system. What this means is that you are not required to buy multiple versions of the same movie to watch on the go.

One of the most common questions I get is whether or not the movie player can store and play an entire movie from a compact flash card. I can completely understand why this would be confusing. I mean, let’s face it, DVD movies are several GIGABYTES in size, how could they fit on a tiny 256 Megabyte CF card?

I always answer that question with the same answer. It can play full movies very well. But in case you’re wondering how that can be possible, let me explain. It has a lot to do with the screen size of the GBA and Nintendo DS. Because the screen is so much smaller, the file size of the full movie can also be much smaller, simply because you don’t have to maintain a very high resolution in the same way you would if you were watching that movie on your TV. In essence, it “downconverts” the DVD movie, so that it fits directly on the GBA or Nintendo DS screen; otherwise, you would have to scroll left to right and top to bottom to see the entire video.

For those of you wondering how big your Compact Flash card needs to be to enjoy a full movie, here’s a breakdown of how much video you can store on common Compact Flash card sizes. And I have to remind you to keep in mind that most movies are no longer than 95 to 110 minutes. This will give you a real indication of how much you can look at on each card.

The following is a list of how much storage you can have on various compact flash cards. 960 minutes we have 1 GB Compact Flash, 480 minutes we have 512 MB Compact Flash, 240 minutes we have 256 MB Compact Flash and 120 minutes we have 128 MB Compact Flash. As you can see, even a compact 128M flash card is adequate to store a whole movie.

To watch a movie in GBA Movie Player, you’ll first need to use your PC to convert the DVD movie to the proper file format for the player. This can be done very easily with the bundled software that comes with the GBA Movie Player. And don’t forget it. You can do much more than just watch movies. In fact, you can listen to MP3 music, read e-books, and even load PDA-like software onto the Compact Flash card, which will essentially turn your Nintendo DS into a very functional PDA.

Rather than wait for the Nintendo DS Movie Player, which Nintendo will release sometime next year, I urge all NDS owners to check out the GBA/NDS Movie Player. It’s packed with functions and features, and comes at a price that simply can’t be beat. Even when you add up the cost of a Nintendo DS and the movie player, you’ll find it’s still on par with, or cheaper than, most good quality portable DVD players.

And let’s face it, you just can’t put a portable DVD player in your pocket, or have it play the latest Mario game.
