High Flying Stock: L International Computers, Inc. The Next DELL?

L International Computers, Inc. is a publicly traded company on the pink sheets with the stock symbol LITL. According to a recent press release, the company designs, manufactures, markets and distributes opulent, high-performance PC/Windows© laptops, desktops, workstations and servers.

In addition, the company claims it also produces the largest and most spectacular personal and professional displays, as well as ultra-high-performance software, peripherals and personal electronic technologies.

They claim to be the “absolute top class/highest performance hardware solutions and no competition”.

provider, at any given price point.” Could Dell be next?

On August 10, 2006, shares of L International Computers, Inc. closed at $0.29 on no volume. On August 31, 2006, the shares traded as high as $1.85 and closed at $1.40 with more than 10 million shares.

Why all the investor enthusiasm?

a) A press release issued on September 1, 2006 announces its next-generation PuRam-Go™/PuRaid™ high-speed ultra-portable solid-state drive technology.

b) A press release issued on August 30, 2006 announces that the Metropolis is the world’s first laptop with Nvidia’s Quad-SLI technology; High-end graphics, gaming, and professional visual computing to be unleashed from the desktop box.

c) A press release issued on August 23, 2006 announced that L International signs a European distribution agreement worth $45 million; Breakthrough Deal solidifies global corporate marketing and sales strategies.

Great press releases, but is there any substance? Perhaps investors should focus on the following elements:

a) According to various magazines and trade articles, the company originally launched its technologies in 2003. We have not been able to find any financial statement indicating its sales, profit or loss since that time. The company says it will release financial statements sometime in the next few months. As a pink sheet company, they are under no obligation to provide investors with current or accurate information.

b) In an article published on October 14, 2004, the company was quoted as saying: “We are no longer in a position, from a financial point of view, to continue doing business and unfortunately we are forced to suspend our operations and liquidate our assets in support of our financial responsibilities”.

c) In a call to the company today, the company acknowledged that it had closed trading about eight months ago due to technology upgrades and plans to reopen in about three to four months.

d) Who is Microscan International? They allegedly placed a $45 million order to buy L International products. However, a quick search on google.com turns up absolutely nothing about them, not even a website.

e) Although the company claims to manufacture its own technologies with employees working from its corporate headquarters, it appears that the address on file is in fact a mailbox at The UPS Store in Santa Barbara, California.

f) Stock of L International Computers, Inc is traded on Pink Sheets and has been actively promoted through stock spam. Interestingly, a message posted by Pink Sheets LLC on PinkSheets.com indicates that they have removed stock quotes from their website until the company makes current information available to the investment community. Furthermore, they suggest that investors exercise caution and due diligence in their investment decisions, as companies that engage in promotional activities without providing adequate up-to-date information are often targets of fraudulent activity.

The company reports that there are approximately 100 million shares outstanding. Is this company worth $150 million? Investors beware.

Technical writing in India

Technical writing in India: Is it as good as anywhere else?

Technical writing generally translates to a piece of writing that conjures up an image in the mind of a layman about any device or software application.

In other words, the job profile of a technical writer involves writing and designing user guides, brochures, and white papers for a large number of products.

Although these procedures are not new, their categorization under the term “Technical Writing” is quite recent. The latest entrant in the software field is not an IIT whiz kid, but could be a journalist or an English literature graduate. This option is here to stay as India slowly accepts the prospect of technical writing as a full career on par with the hottest contenders.

Now, the Indian technical writing scenario would seem very bleak to a viewer who doesn’t delve into the layers. This field was virtually unknown until the 1990s. Tata Consultancy Services pioneered creating a need for today’s generation of technical smiths.

More than a decade old, this profession does not have many interested parties, but it has many followers in the different metropolitan areas. In Bangalore, the number is believed to be 500-600. Even with an optimistic view, the number of technical writers across the country would be around 6,000. These statistics show that corporate bosses and the software industry as a whole recognized the need for a specialized documentation team in recent times.

Technical writing work has long since moved beyond the confines of being a strictly documentation-related activity. In some organizations, technical writers are asked to be involved in test case development, product testing, API code creation, Java documentation creation, etc.

More recently, a technical writer has grown into a graphic designer, web content developer, etc. Since a technical background is not a prerequisite for a technical writer, many writers venture into the field even with a Humanities background.

The only criteria, by today’s Indian standards, would be a firm command of the Queen’s language and a strong analytical mind. However, the overriding need is to comply with international standards in the use of English. Business America recognizes the need for a skilled technical writer and that adds to the hiring and training momentum for technical documenters.

The United States offers a lot of field and opportunities for training and specialized study of the subject. By comparison, Indian universities avoid offering offbeat and lesser-known courses, also known as Technical Writing. Technical writers, who already exist in the industry and have carved out a golden niche, are quickly emerging as the “trainers” for this career option. Some of the Indian universities like the University of Calicut and the University of Mumbai have become aware of this profession and have included the subject in their curricula.

This trend can give the Technical Writing profession the boost it requires. End recruiters, corporations, and multinationals should boldly step in to hire and provide one-on-one training for new technical writers.

This could bring about the golden dawn for technical writing in India!

Three ways to engage in carpentry

If you have some free time on your hands, or have some projects around the house that you want to complete, you may be thinking about taking up carpentry. It’s a great hobby, and it’s one you can enjoy even if you don’t have any previous experience. The fact is, wood project plans aren’t hard to find online, with many sites offering detailed plans that include step-by-step guides and lists of the items you’ll need. But how can you go from never having worked with wood to making it your hobby? Here is the three step process.

1. Get the basics

Before you delve into woodworking plan research, we recommend getting the basics down. Make sure you have decent measuring tools like tape measures, carpenter’s pencils, combination squares, and more. You’ll also want to get the tools you’ll need for cutting wood, such as jigsaws, hand-held circular saws, and hand-held backsaws. You just need to get one of each, and you don’t need to get the expensive power tools. You can do it yourself, no need for power saws.

2. Understand how wood joinery works

In addition to learning how you are going to cut the wood and reshape it, you also need to understand how the pieces of wood are put together. That will help you as you develop simple and complex projects. Start with a glued or screwed butt joint, as that is one of the most basic ways you would join the pieces of wood together. You can also experiment with things like glued joints to see how they can be useful.

3. Find a Top Site for Woodworking Plans

There is no doubt that you can become a woodworking hobbyist on your own, but it is very helpful to use sites where you can browse and identify woodworking plans. These sites will show you different wooden objects and then show you how they are made. There will be visual and written guides, and you’ll see a list of the items you’ll need.

Going with woodworking plans is a helpful start, because it will eliminate beginner mistakes. When you are just starting out with woodworking, going with a guide is very helpful. You are just following steps, like completing any task. You don’t have to think on the fly or adjust based on how something turns out. You’re just going through the steps and you’ll end up with something that looks amazingly like the product shown on the site.

Don’t think that woodworking is a hobby that you will find too difficult. We promise that as long as you take it easy and don’t try to create an overly complex structure as your first project, you’ll have a lot of fun. You’ll start to understand how you can manipulate wood with different saws, and then you’ll see how those pieces you’re cutting can be joined together.

Adolescents and Sensory Processing Disorder: The Special Challenges

Adolescents with sensory processing disorder face special challenges due to their stage of development and the fact that, until now, their sensory issues may not have been addressed.

1. Finding the right OT can be difficult. Few occupational therapists are trained or have experience working with adolescents with sensory processing disorder. Play-based SI therapy may seem silly and embarrassing to adolescents.

2. Low self-esteem. Teens who have had sensory issues for years will have learned at least some adaptations to get around them and are less likely to experience the extreme behaviors and responses they did when they were younger. However, years of feeling different and not knowing why, and realizing that they have never been as mature and self-controlled as their peers, take their toll. Teens with sensory processing issues often struggle with self-esteem. They need a lot of encouragement to admit that they have sensory issues and need help.

3. Need for independence. Teenagers need their independence to be respected, so if you tell them, “You have to do X, Y, and Z to manage your sensory issues,” it usually doesn’t work very well!

4. Desire to fit in. Even teens who don’t feel the need to have a lot of friends or be conformists want to have a few friends they feel like they fit in with. Sensory challenges can embarrass them and can make them feel isolated and different in a negative way.

5. Change of hormones. Teenagers have constantly changing hormones that can exacerbate sensory issues making them more sensitive to information than they were in the past. The normal changes of adolescence can also make them more moody and emotionally sensitive.

6. New expectations. People are less likely to see your teen as a young, immature person with a hidden disability and more likely to see them as a young adult whose behavior is deliberate.

What is a parent, teacher or therapist to do?

1. Modify traditional SI therapy techniques to make them more adolescent friendly. Instead of playing with a tray of shaving cream or finger paints, encourage your teen to cook, garden, do arts or crafts, and participate in other activities that challenge her tactile issues. Work with a sensory-intelligent occupational therapist who is willing to modify her approach to help your teen reduce any embarrassment or defensiveness.

2. Talk about sensory issues in a positive way. Assure your teen that sensory issues are simply a difference in the brain’s wiring that can have benefits, but can also be controlled and addressed to make life a little easier. Explain what SPD is and why, in some cases, it is good to be more sensitive or crave certain sensations, and that people with sensory issues often have other gifts as well, such as the ability to “think in pictures.” Then explain that there are “tricks” that you and/or an OT can teach them to “make their lives easier.” Everyone wants their life to be a little easier! Acknowledge how hard your teen has to work to be organized or tolerate certain feelings, and praise her for her efforts.

3. Offer sensory diet adaptations and ideas for him or her to choose from. Present accommodations and activities to teens and let them decide which one they would like to use. Honor and respect their choices and encourage them to participate in collaborative problem solving with you. If you don’t want to be seen doing a brushing protocol for tactile issues, can you do it discreetly in the school bathroom? If all the boys wear baggy clothes and prefer them to be tight, can the teen wear tight clothing, such as bike shorts, under looser clothing that looks dressier?

4. Help your teen with sensory issues feel good about who they are and find a peer group they feel comfortable with. Practical solutions to grooming, picky eating and dressing, and encouraging conversations about the benefits of being different can help your teen with sensory issues feel more comfortable with their peers. However, he may also feel better about himself if he expands his friend group. Encourage your teen to develop hobbies and participate in new activities, from individualized sports that don’t require high levels of skill and competitiveness to enjoy, to groups that are dedicated to the arts, community service, spiritual growth, and more. Extracurricular activities can help kids find their “tribe” and feel the power to make a difference in the world, too.

5. Accept that your child may be more emotionally sensitive at this stage. Be alert for signs of increased anxiety and depression, and consult a medical health professional with any concerns you may have. Remember, addressing sensory issues will reduce general anxiety that can lead to mild to moderate depression (when you feel like you can’t handle your discomfort, over time, you can develop depression). Don’t forget that some of the most effective treatments for mild to moderate anxiety and depression include physical exercise, time outside, meditation, and breathing exercises. Mindfulness practices, from yoga and tai chi to tai kwan do and karate, can also help.

6. Focus on self-awareness and responsibility for self-regulation. Poor self-regulation in an adolescent is very difficult to get others to accept, even if you educate them about hidden disabilities. So the sooner you work with your teen to create a viable sensory diet that prevents negative behaviors, the better. It will be easier for your teen to develop better self-regulation if he is trained in using specific self-soothing and self-arousing techniques that he knows will work for her. Hold him accountable for using his alert music and gum, taking time to sit in a quiet space and do breathing exercises or use a brushing protocol, etc. Ask her to participate in creating a sensory-adapted diet for her to meet her sensory needs and prevent fight-or-flight behaviors. Let her experience the natural consequences if she refuses to use her calm, focus, and alert techniques.

Above all, never forget that children with sensory issues need a “perfect” challenge, a balance of accommodations to make them more comfortable, and challenges that push them out of their comfort zone. The activities in the Sensory Diet for Teens help them develop a greater tolerance for the situations and activities they will encounter in life, and over time retrain their brains to process sensory information more frequently. Be creative and encouraging when setting up a sensory diet for a teen, and always work together to respect the teen’s need for independence.

Finally, if you’re a parent frustrated with trying to control your teen’s sensory issues, consider joining or creating an in-person or online support group. Knowing that you are not alone and having the practical and emotional support of other parents going through the same experiences with their teens can greatly help you at this stage of your child’s development.

Why skating is better than jogging

When I was young, I loved to run. It didn’t matter if it was raining or snowing, I would be running early in the morning. If I let a few days go by without running, I would start to feel sluggish. I enjoyed running not only for the exercise but also for the benefit of clearing my mind at the start of a new day. When I wasn’t running, I would wake up focusing on the problems I would have that day or the days to come. But running gave me a reprieve from the problems around me.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found that my body can’t take the abuse of running. My bones and joints began to give me some problems. I’ve found that skating, whether inline or roller skating, can be a great replacement for running. I found that skating can give me the same benefits as running, but without further damage to my bones and joints.

When I ran, the souls of my feet would absorb the shock when my feet hit the ground. But when he was on wheels or skates, the skates absorbed much more, up to 50 percent of the impact with each landing. Because the frames and wheels take the brunt of the impact, I found that my knees and ankles weren’t affected much.

What this meant to me was that I could continue my exercise through skating without further damage to my joints, due to minimal impact. I also found that I could skate longer than I could run, which meant I could burn more calories.

So if you are considering taking up this sport or have been running and thinking about starting skating as a sport, let me share with you some of the benefits,

mental clarity: This is a great benefit that is often overlooked with vigorous exercise. Whether you’re skating hard or casually, your mind will benefit.

Strengthen the heart: This is pretty obvious. Just like running, skating gives your heart a great workout without damaging your joints! In fact, I think skating gives a better workout because you can do it for a longer period of time. If you do this for 30 minutes you can get your heart rate up to 148 pm

Weight control: Since skating is a fun sport, you’ll get exercise while having fun at the same time! If you spend 30 minutes on the skates, you will burn an average of 285 calories. If you go fast on the skates, the calories burned will be much higher.

Coordination: When a child is young, this is very important to learn. But as we get older, it’s great to play a sport that continues to improve coordination and balance. This all happens naturally while you skate.

Legal Law

Rhode Island Divorce Strategy From Finding an RI Lawyer to Filing for Divorce by an RI Lawyer

The first step in obtaining a divorce from your spouse is to find a Rhode Island lawyer with whom you are comfortable. Many attorneys provide free initial consultations, while others charge for the first consultation. I have always taken the position that initial consultations will be free.

It is important to ask the proposed attorney about their experience and qualifications in handling your case. It is also crucial to determine the hourly charge and the amount of any initial fees or advances.

It is often impossible to determine how much a divorce will cost from start to finish. However, it’s a good idea to get an informed estimate of the final fee. Typically, this will never be more than an estimate because the cost of a divorce usually depends on a number of factors. Those factors could include how quickly a settlement is reached, the number of motions each party will file, the number/nature and complexity of the assets to be equally divided, the number of documents involved in the case, the animosity of the parties toward each other, waiting time while in court, and many other potential problems.

The rule of thumb is that the longer it takes to reach an agreement, the more the divorce will cost because the lawyers will spend much more time working on the case. If there is no agreement and the case goes to trial or on trial day, the divorce could be very expensive. If everything is agreed or almost agreed and the parties are relatively amicable, then the divorce should take much less time and therefore be much less expensive.

Uncontested divorces in Rhode Island should be much less expensive than contested divorces. However, there are many different types of uncontested divorces. There are uncontested divorces without real property and uncontested divorces with property to divide. If the divorce is uncontested and there is property, the attorney may need to prepare an estate settlement agreement, deeds, qualified domestic relations orders, etc. Therefore, the cost of an uncontested divorce can vary depending on the circumstances. For example, if a lawyer has to draft an estate settlement agreement, the lawyer will spend more time on the case.

I think a fair price for an uncontested soup-to-nuts divorce in Rhode Island with no assets and no property settlement agreement is about $800 flat fee plus costs. Typical costs are a filing fee of $100 and processing service fees of approximately $40.

Once you have retained the attorney, there is usually an intake process where the attorney obtains the basic information to be able to adequately represent you. The lawyer usually draws up the divorce papers and you sign them in front of him or her or another notary. These documents include a Complaint for Divorce, DR(6) Financial Statement, Statement of Children of the Marriage, Statement of Counsel, Divorce Report, Summons and Automatic Divorce Order, etc. It is important that the DR6 form, also known as a financial statement, be filled out accurately.

There are many important decisions that need to be made before filing for divorce in Rhode Island. Strategy is crucial in many cases!

In some cases, the attorney will file a motion for temporary orders when the divorce is filed. A motion for temporary orders should be filed if the husband or wife needs temporary resolution of the issues while the case is pending. These temporary motions typically ask for temporary child support, childcare payment/contribution, contribution to medical bills, alimony, household expenses, mortgage payment, taxes, and insurance. A motion for temporary orders can also address child custody and visitation issues related to minor children, as well as issues related to sole use and possession of the marital home. The temporary motion can also request temporary orders related to: both financial and personal restraining orders and a myriad of other temporary matters. The motion for temporary orders will generally be heard by the Court within 30 to 40 days after the divorce complaint is filed.

If no temporary orders enter, then there is no legal obligation for a spouse to pay anything while the case is ongoing until there is a decision by the judge or the parties sign an Asset Settlement Agreement. If there are no temporary orders, financial issues, visitation, and custody will be up to the parties while the case continues without the benefit of a court order.

If there is an emergency where irreparable damage will be caused if the party has to wait for a court date, then an emergency motion must be filed with the lawsuit. An emergency motion must be verified under oath or be accompanied by an affidavit. The attorney will take the emergency motion to the appropriate judge and request an ex parte order. Ex parte means that the other party is not present to object. The Rhode Island judge will only consider the affidavit and documentation before him. If the judge signs the emergency order, the bailiff will serve it on your spouse along with the divorce complaint.

These types of emergency motions generally deal with issues related to the abuse of a child, the unreasonable dissipation or expenditure of marital property, domestic violence, child abuse, or a plethora of other potential emergencies. If there is domestic violence involved where you are in imminent fear of bodily harm or have been abused or threatened with abuse, talk to the attorney about the benefits of filing a separate case called Abuse Complaint Protection. Keep in mind that a complaint protection from abuse is very different from an emergency motion.

When the divorce or Abuse Complaints case is filed first or if they are filed simultaneously could be critical to your case.

If an emergency motion is granted and emergency orders enter, a hearing will be scheduled for approximately 20 days to determine if the order should remain in effect while the divorce case is pending. At that hearing, your spouse has an opportunity to challenge the motion and tell their side of the story. At that hearing, the Court will determine if the emergency relief will remain in effect while the divorce case proceeds.

Consult the second part that will be finished later and that describes the process from the presentation of the demand to the nominal hearing of divorce.

Mononucleosis Treatment: Adrenal Depletion

Mono is a common trigger for adrenal exhaustion. During the treatment of mononucleosis, it is vital that the adrenal glands are considered as part of the plan.

After an illness like the Epstein Barr virus that causes mononucleosis or glandular fever, the body needs time to recover. Plenty of sleep, rest, pure and healthy food, sunshine and gradual exercise are essential. If these conditions are not met, the adrenal glands become fatigued or “burned out.” They are then unable to produce adequate amounts of hormones such as adrenaline, cortisol, and DHEA. The job of these adrenal hormones is to help the body cope with stress.

So what are the symptoms of exhausted adrenal glands? Well, the main symptom is low energy, lethargy, and constant fatigue. You may also notice dark circles under your eyes, reduced immunity, poor sex drive, premenstrual tension, sugar cravings, headaches, poor concentration, unrefreshing sleep, and a general loss of interest in life.

If you’re looking for mononucleosis treatments, here are some tips on how to treat adrenal exhaustion and make you feel better fast!

  • You should aim to get enough sleep. At least 8-10 hours of deep, uninterrupted sleep per night is required. An afternoon nap can also be very beneficial, but don’t leave it too late.
  • Regular meditation, yoga, or deep breathing can help your body deal with the stress of having mononucleosis and make you more resilient to whatever life throws your way.
  • Your diet should be low in sugar, white flour, coffee, alcohol, processed foods, tobacco, and drugs. These vices may make you feel better in the short term, but they will drain your adrenal glands and prolong your recovery if consumed regularly.
  • Supplements such as vitamin C, B complex, and magnesium can help repair the adrenal glands and aid in the treatment of mononucleosis. Omega 3 fatty acids from deep sea fish oils or flaxseed oil can help with fatigue. If you have anemia, it is important to take some iron.
  • Herbs such as licorice and ginseng can stimulate adrenal function and help treat mononucleosis. These herbs can be taken as teas, capsules, or liquid tinctures.
  • Light physical exercise will increase adrenal strength and stamina. If you’re not used to exercising, start slowly and gradually increase over time. If you are in the acute early stages of mono, rest until your body catches up. If you do too much too soon, you’ll end up back where you started.
  • Make time for laughter, fun, and joy in your life. These are great ways to reduce your stress levels when treating mono.
  • Be kind to yourself, don’t strive to always be perfect. You can reduce stress simply by learning to go with the flow.
  • Celebrate the achievements and victories in your life. During mono treatment, it may just be little things like enjoying a 10-minute walk, finishing a good book, or making a healthy new meal that you can celebrate—it’s a good start! Acknowledging your progress will help you maintain a positive attitude that helps you cope with stress and keeps your adrenal glands strong.
Real Estate

What are the relationships between land fund managers, local governments and planning authorities?

There are formal and informal ways in which investor-funded developers achieve land use change. But community relations and flexibility are also important.

From an investor’s perspective, real estate fund managers are the professionals with the skill set needed to grow assets that go into real estate development. Ideally, they make the calls it takes to buy land at a low price and resell it at a much higher price – the higher the better.

It is about more than smart and strategic physical development. Key negotiation skills are required from the people who guide these alternative investments through the process, starting with negotiating the initial purchase price of the land. But of equal value is the function of negotiating and managing the planning license.

Local planning authorities (LPAs) are critical to the land value appreciation formula. Most work objectively, trying to meet the needs of their constituents with appropriate and manageable growth schedules. But their decisions are not made in a vacuum: there are several means by which they determine whether or not to approve a land use change:

• Formal – It corresponds to the local planning authorities to have an established development plan, with which the changes of use must be complied with. This requirement is emphasized by the National Planning Policy Framework, which published new requirements in 2012. There, the NPPF stipulated that LPAs establish a development plan to promote net housing growth in a relatively short period of time. This requirement was raised to enroll local municipalities in the cause of increasing the housing stock, a critical national need.

• Informal – Sadly, only about half of the towns and cities in England and Wales have developed their plans required by the NPPF by mid-2014. Among those that do not, the process necessarily follows what the developers propose to the authorities. Those authorities may reject proposals for various reasons, however it is logical that they are predisposed to a positive review of such proposals due to the critical housing situation. This is where real estate fund managers must be resourceful and convincing in communicating the benefits of the particular development they are proposing.

• Community Participation – The Urban and Rural Planning Association advises that community participation be at the center of planning results. Certainly when there is a well-organized opposition group opposing community development it can be heard and powerful. But experienced land fund professionals should be able to identify shared objectives, and make adaptations and adjustments to development plans, which create alliances within those communities that can at least bring balance to the discussion.

As government agents, planning authorities strive to find consensus while respecting divergent views. Similarly, investment groups work to identify common ground so that development can ultimately move forward.

People considering land as an investment should seek an independent financial adviser to discuss two factors. One is the perspective of real estate investing itself, and the other is determining how real estate and other forms of real assets influence the investor’s unique wealth portfolio. The relative medium-term returns to investments based on land use (18 to 60 months, typically) are part of that consideration.

Great literary hoaxes

Margaret B. Jones published “Love and Consequences” in 2008 as a memoir of her life as an abused half-black, half-Native foster child when in reality she is a white woman from a middle-class neighborhood.

“Misha: A Memoire of the Holocaust Years” was written by Misha Defonseca in 1997. The book was a bestseller and was translated into 18 languages and made into a movie in France. However, the author admitted in February 2008 that her story of walking across Europe with a pack of wolves during the Holocaust was not true. Apparently, she’s not even Jewish.

James Frey wrote his 2003 memoir, A Million Little Pieces, about a 23-year-old alcoholic drug addict who manages to get his life back on track with the help of a Twelve Step-oriented treatment center. Frey eventually admitted to making up large portions of the book and left Oprah ripped off apologizing to the world for defending him. Although the book publisher was forced to refund dissatisfied customers, the book continues to sell as a work of fiction.

JT LeRoy, aka Laura Albert… not only chose a pen name, but invented a false background and even sent a friend to impersonate LeRoy on book tours. Albert maintained the double life of an HIV-positive, drug-addicted ex-hustler for several years and managed to pull off a few blockbusters (“Sarah” and “The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things”) before the hammer fell. .

Timothy Patrick Barrus wrote three ‘memoirs’ under the pseudonym Nasdijj: “Blood Runs Like a River Through My Dreams” (2000), “The Boy and the Dog Are Sleeping” (2003) and “Geronimo’s Bones: a memory of my brother”. and I” (2004). Within them, he claimed to be of Navajo descent with abusive parents until LA Weekly broke the story.

In 1999, Michael Pelligrino tricked US publisher Simon & Schuster into thinking he was Michael Gambino, grandson of mobster Carlo Gambino, and went on to write ‘The Honored Society’, a book purportedly based on his own experiences as a gangster. The pack of lies was exposed when a legitimate member of the Gambino family found out about the book and had his lawyers blow the whistle.

Binjamin Wilkomirski (also known as Bruno Grosjean) wrote “Fragments,” a purported memoir about the Holocaust, in 1996. The book recalled the horrors of two Nazi death camps in Poland and won the National Jewish Book Award for an autobiography. In 1999, a historian investigated the allegations against the author and discovered that Wilkomirski was actually a Swiss man named Bruno Grosjean who had never been in a camp.

Anthony Godby Johnson was credited for writing “A Rock and a Hard Place” in 1993. The story involves a 14-year-old boy with HIV who describes being sexually abused. A group of journalists eventually discovered that Anthony did not exist and that the story was entirely fictional. The novel had been written by Vicki Fraginals, who claimed to be Anthony’s adoptive mother and posed as the fictional boy in telephone interviews.
