Change slide release on a CZ-52

This popular Czech-made pistol is a favorite of many, in a peculiar way. Fires a high powered machine gun round (7.62 x 25), and brings good luck in an “ugly” way. Love it or hate it, and lots of people love it!

But… it has some flaws. One major shortcoming is the disarm mechanism (short version: don’t trust your disarm!). A second deficiency is the weak stock firing pin. Finally, a third weakness is the lack of a thumb-activated slider release.

Once your slide locks back, the only way to release it forward is to put it back in by hand…after inserting a magazine. There is no thumb tab to push to release the slide like most modern autoloading pistols.

This weakness is easily remedied: there are several aftermarket slider release mechanisms that can be easily installed. Here’s how to do it.

Before you begin, remove the magazine and double check the chamber to make sure the gun is safe. Next, remove the single U-clamp that holds the grips in place.

I find it almost impossible to remove the u-clamp without scratching the wood of the grip. You can’t move the clamp by hand, you have to stick a screwdriver in to lift it. Every time you do this, you will lose a bit of wood. So…don’t do it too often!

After removing the clamp, the grips should come off. You may need to “get them started” by placing a prying tool (thin blade screwdriver) between the grip and the frame. Do this near the back of the grip.

The grips may not lift up; there is a small notch in the front edge…you will need to lift from the rear first. you have to.

Next, I removed the slide. Use the same steps you would use if you cleaned the gun.

Once you do this, note the position of the slider release spring; the spring should be at the top of the release tab.

Here’s the tricky part: there’s a single pin that holds the slide release in place. Flip the frame on its side (slide the release down) and use a punch to remove the pin. I had to give mine a few hard hits to get it to start. Once you push the pin in all the way, LEAVE THE PIN PUNCH IN PLACE! This is important because the takedown release is held in place by the same pin. Since the pin punch now holds the takedown release in place, if you remove the pin punch, your takedown release can pop out of the frame!

Remove the slide release. Pull it off the punch and pull it out of the frame at an angle.

If you have a replacement extended slide release, compare it to your old slide release; note the extended thumb tab. This extended tab will facilitate manual release of the locked rear slide.

Angle the new slide release into place, positioning the hole over the pin punch. Frankly, mine felt really gritty after doing this. I removed it and cleaned the frame and the back of the trigger. I lubricated both parts and replaced them. It worked much better, but still had a slight gritty feel to it. I think I could have polished the back of the new slide to make it smoother.

Be sure to position the slider release spring so that it sits on top of the end of the slider release!

Replace the pin; be careful to let him replace the piercing pin slowly so that the takedown release stays in place. Once I manually pushed the pin halfway, the pin fell out and I hit the slide release pin into place.
Replaced pin. Notice the large thumb latch on the new slide release!

It’s time to start putting things in order. We’ll start with the grips.

Note that the front of the hilt has a slight angled cut. Because of this, you will not be able to press the grips down into place. You’ll need to slide them to the front first, then press down on the back of the grip.

Once your grips are engaged, slide the u-clamp back into its notch. Keep in mind that the u-clamp can go the “right way” or the “wrong way”. Take into account the angle of the clamp to select the “right way”.

Once the grips are back on, put the slide back on, and voila!

Although you now have a thumb tab on the slide release, be aware that you may have to press very firmly on it to get it to work.

tuscan colors

Everything you need to know to get the right Tuscan color palette!

Choosing Tuscan colors can seem overwhelming when you first think of Tuscan-style decorating. The colors of Tuscany, if selected in the right way, can work quite well! Since the colors of Tuscany come from Mother Nature, I often refer to this as a guide that makes this process much easier.

The warm shades of red, yellow, green, and brown are natural earth tones that clearly represent true Tuscan color. Fabulous colors that I enjoy and have used in my home are burgundy, olive green, warm brown, and golden yellow. This blend reminds me of a family Tuscan vineyard. Another wonderful palette is the combination of pale gold, sage green, rust red, and cream. The rust red reminds me so much of relaxing on a Tuscan farmhouse. I enjoy decorating houses in Tuscany more because I can associate each room with a part of Italy that I love. I design with this in mind when choosing Tuscan painting.

The simple ways to find a “workable” Tuscan color palette is through Tuscan art. Often when I think of Tuscan decor, I go out looking for art when decorating the home in the Tuscan style. From the paintings, I can collect the particular colors in the artwork that the artist has chosen. Many times while browsing the stores, these paints stand out and the color palette jumps out at you, making it easy to figure out what will work and blend well with the room you choose to decorate. Another easy way to choose the colors of Tuscany is through the Tuscan tile.

Especially when designing Tuscan kitchens, tiles are a great way to start deciding on Tuscan kitchen colors. While you’re at the tile shops, you may be looking for tiles to decorate your dark wood farmhouse tabletop, or you could be shopping for tiles for your Tuscan kitchen backsplash. Once again, drawing colors from mosaic tiles in particular will get you on the right track when choosing Tuscan colors. These tiles can also help you with Tuscan color selection when selecting Tuscan kitchen accessories.

Create a genuine Tuscan ambience using today’s Tuscan design techniques. I’ll show you a simple way to choose the colors for your Tuscan decor. Find out how to choose the right shades and hues using a color wheel. Find out how to choose Tuscan wall paintings that complement your space.

Divorced Women: Are You in Debt and Don’t Even Know It?

Americans are $2.45 trillion in debt! (source: Federal Reserve G.19 Report on Consumer Credit, published July 2011).

The average Canadian family is $100,000 in debt and owes much more than it earns, according to a new report (source: The Vanier Institute of the Family).

Many divorced women think that because they are managing to pay their bills and no one is knocking on the door to take their things, they are not in debt. Think again!

To find out if you are in debt, you need to calculate your net worth. It does this by taking all of your assets and subtracting all of your liabilities.

Now, if your assets minus your liabilities are a positive amount, you’re in great shape! If your assets minus your liabilities are a negative amount, YOU ARE IN DEBT!

What is debt?

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, debt is an amount of money that you owe to a person, bank company, etc. It can include the amount borrowed and accrued interest. Debt can include credit card debt, mortgage debt, car/truck debt, student loans, etc. According to money-zine.com “According to 2010 census statistics, that equates to nearly $7,800 in debt for every man, woman, and child living here in the US.”

5 tips to get out of debt

You can get out of debt if you are committed and diligent. It can take a while, and if you stay focused on your goals, the rewards will be worth it. Here are some tips that can help. Choose one, two, three or all four. The faster you work on this, the faster you will succeed.

1. Prepare and stick to a budget. A budget is a way to control your spending. Since you have little control over the amount of money that comes in, you have to control the money that goes out.

List all your current income streams
Make a list of all your monthly expenses
Compare your income with your expenses
Stay on budget and avoid any new debt

2. Reduce your credit cards. One way to get out of debt is to stop using your credit cards. The easiest way to do this is to simply cut them. Once you are debt free and have learned how to better manage your money, you can apply for a new card. And then you’ll get a better rate because you’re debt-free!

3. Lower your interest rates. Credit cards today have incredibly high interest rates and you end up paying more in interest than the original amount you borrowed. You can get credit card companies to lower your interest rate. You just have to call and ask.

We have a balance of $5,000, if you paid $150.00 per month
20% interest, it will take you 50 months to get rid of your debt
You will pay $2,359.09 in interest.

We have a balance of $5,000, if you paid $150.00 per month
16% interest, it will take you 45 months to get rid of your debt
You will pay $1,656.82 in interest.

That’s $702.27 less!

And talk to your bank manager about the interest rate on loans and mortgages. If you don’t ask, you will never get, as you will surely not be offered. Consult the different types of mortgages to see which one best suits your current situation. Ask about variable rate versus fixed rate mortgages.

4. Double the minimum payments. It’s amazing how much you can save with this tip alone. For example:

Pay the minimum of a debt of $5,000
It will take more than 300 months to get rid of your debt
You will pay more than $9,194.47 in interest.

Paying twice the minimum on a $5,000 debt
It will take 120 months to get rid of your debt
You will pay $2,445.32 in interest.

That’s 180 months (15 YEARS) and $6749.15 less!

I know you’ll tell me that you continue to carry credit card balances because you usually don’t have any free cash left over after paying all your bills and minimum credit card payments. You should review your budget every month and find expenses that you can eliminate. Any time you can do this, use the extra money to double the minimum payment on the credit card with the most debt. Once you have finished that card, do the same with the next card, etc.

For mortgages, consider making biweekly payments instead of monthly payments. Take a look at this example:

• You have a $200,000 mortgage
• Fixed rate at 7%
• Term of 30 years

If you have a biweekly mortgage payment, you’ll save a total of $68,925 in interest instead of making one payment per month.

5. Debt counseling. If you are overwhelmed with the thought of getting out of debt, there are many companies that offer debt consolidation and debt relief plans and advice to help you. They can help you avoid bankruptcy and be free from collection agencies. They can reduce it to one monthly payment for all your debts.

Why stuffed toys make meaningful gifts

Some of us may think that stuffed animals are a thing of the past, as they no longer seem like the “it” toy. You can often decide not to give a stuffed animal and instead get something more practical, because after all, what’s the point of a stuffed toy? What reason is there to get a stuffed animal?

The answer to that is: a lot. Stuffed animals can be very meaningful and symbolize important events or people. This is truly a timeless gift, and we should all remember it! Let’s see why plush toys are important in the lives of three particular age groups: children, adolescents and adults.

symbols for children

There is no such thing as too many toys for children. Children love to collect stuffed animals of all kinds, and could always use more. What could symbolize the innocence of childhood better than a cuddly soft toy animal? In our own childhoods, we probably spent many a night snuggled up with our favorite bunny or teddy bear. Children enjoy the comfort of a stuffed animal, and that comfort is a great nightmare repellant! In fact, those who say that stuffed toys aren’t in “it” anymore haven’t been paying attention to what’s happening in the world of little girls. Stuffed animals are very “in” for girls. Many girls will get a natural-looking stuffed cat or stuffed dog, just so they can carry it in their purses while emulating fashionable women who carry their little pets. Stuffed animals certainly haven’t gone out of style!

Teenager Symbols

Teens may not play with toys anymore, but stuffed animals aren’t just a toy. They are confident and comfortable. In fact, many teens have more stuffed animals now than when they were young. This is because stuffed animals often symbolize love or falling in love. they are keepsakes. For example, a teenage girl will greatly appreciate that little stuffed dolphin that her boyfriend gave her because she knows that dolphins are her favorite animal. Or maybe her dad gives her a teddy bear when she’s on her way to college, so she’s never alone.

But it’s not just girls who can appreciate plush toys. Teenagers can also enjoy them a lot. Children often keep them as a reminder of something they did that was brave or impressive. For example, maybe they love having that stuffed tiger they received after winning a sports game nearby. Or maybe they have a huge stuffed lion that they won on a boardwalk after proving their prowess in a game of darts or a baseball stand. To them, stuffed animals are a symbol of achievement and pride.

adult symbols

Finally, stuffed animals can also be enjoyed by adults, although for different reasons than children and adolescents. Most adults use stuffed animals as decorative items. They will look for stuffed figurines or stuffed animals that look natural and stylish and can add little touches to your home or vacation home. For example, a stuffed dolphin in your ocean vacation home, or a tiger to make your home more exotic and fit in with the jungle theme. Hallways and entryways can be adorned with stuffed lions, black bears, or even stuffed dogs as decorations for a unique touch. Part of this is also that adult stuffed animals are more of a collectible than a toy. Many adults are true collectors, who have large collections to capture that nostalgic feeling of childhood. In fact, it’s not uncommon to find that someone you know has kept an old teddy bear for 20 years because of the meanings it carries.

So, as you can see, stuffed animals will never go out of style for any age group. They continue to symbolize and carry meanings of all kinds. Never discount the importance of stuffed animals!

A Village in Minnesota (Grey Cloud Island, 1962, a Chick Evens story)

The four teenagers drove outside the city limits (of St. Paul), drinking in the car; they seemed to have come from nowhere to nowhere. And suddenly there was a crash, and Chick Evens standing looking down at the car, his car, a 1952, Desoto, and three bodies in the car, the car shattered, totaled (he was in a stone-black stillness, like if he were up in a tree, looking down), all motionless, his brain was numb, curious.

Then he appeared in real time, his brain now tired and angry. He was a guy who loses his temper. Sometimes breaking things; in this case, he kicked the car and kicked it hard, smashing the headlight with his kick, mad as hell.

He tapped Ralph Eldridge on the shoulder, he was still alive, and then pulled him out of the front seat of the Desoto, the two girls in the back seat, unconscious.

This was the first time in his life that he had come so close to death (fifteen years, drunk and without a license). He had the lives of three friends in his hands. He just had to walk, not look back, and they would be dead.

How vividly I remember tonight when I turned that corner on Gray Cloud Island and slammed on the brakes and the car ended up in the frozen Mississippi River.

It was a cold December night. In Minnesota, December, January, and February are typically the longest months. Everybody who lives in Minnesota all they do is sneeze and cough, and their chest and nostrils are congested, until the summer, sneezing all day, coughing all night.

I always used strong beer, even when I was fifteen, to take the chill out of my body, after and before eating; as she had tonight. But there was a catch.

He had pulled Ralph out of the car, “What happened?” she asked her, and started laughing.

“What is so funny?” Evens commented-the car demolished.

“You only have one shoe on and no sock on your right foot.”

That was strange, wasn’t it, he thought…

As I looked around (an empty wine bottle lay by the front tire of the car, half empty beer bottles under the seats, the car on solid ice), and leaning forward I made one of my strange but truthful observations ) seemed to have caught on. at me unexpectedly, “I want you to notice something Ralph?” I said.

“What?” she asked her. I started, “The two girls haven’t woken up yet, I can hear them breathing so they’re fine, maybe I should just get the hell out of here before the police come?”

“That doesn’t sound quite right?” Ralph told me.

“Well, let’s put it this way,” I said, “it’s a favor to the municipality of this small village, I’m sure if they have to spend their time dealing with tired and dissatisfied people, on my own, it will only increase their stress.” boring lives. It all cost tax money too, putting us in jail and feeding us, you know.”

Ralph smiled at me, “That is expressed very sympathetically!” he commented.

“Ralph, you are indescribably boring, and this is not a boring business: better for both of us to get sober and get out of here fast.”

Then we woke the two girls up and helped them out of the backseat of the car, stabilized them a bit and they stopped a car, as the ice cracked on the river and the car began to sink, and we, Ralph and I walked to the her sister’s house.

Here we were in a car with two flashy girls, more plain than flashy to be honest, and had taken them for a ride, now dropped them off while they took a ride back to town (I took the plates off the car), and We quickly made up a few bull-and-bull stories in case the police investigated the accident. But I did not read anything about it in the newspapers the following week, and that led me to live a gray and somewhat sad life waiting for something that was not going to happen. As a result, I decided to go to the police and let them know that I was the one who had had that horrible accident where everyone was fine; He had no intention of mentioning anyone else’s name, or in the story. And when I went to the St. Paul police station and started to explain my story, the police officer said, “What are you talking about?” (While he was reviewing his records for an accident report).

Police station
(St. Paul, Minn.)

Police Officer: I don’t know what you are talking about, Mr. Chick Evens, there is no such matter that has been reported or brought to our attention (a sad, meaningless look on his face).

Chick Evens: (Thinking: If I stayed and tried to convince him of my guilt, I would just talk like this, as I just described aimlessly, for this quarter of an hour, and then we would have parted ways in the afternoon anyway, the same way .) Thank you officer, have a nice day. (Thought: I don’t feel silly about this, just tired.)

Smoking kitchens are taking the patios by storm!

A few years ago, most people fired up their grills when it was time to cook. They made hamburgers, bought hot dogs or bought some chops at the butcher. They would take a bottle of lighter fluid and a bag of charcoal briquettes. After an initial hiss of flame, they would wait until the coals died down and throw the meat directly onto the extreme heat of the coals. Grills are still popular, but more and more people are exploring a different way of cooking. Smoke kitchens are taking patios by storm.

Smoker cookers share some commonalities with traditional grills, but they are actually a very different tool. Grills are made to cook things relatively quickly over high heat. Smokers provide a means by which meat can be slowly cooked at a lower temperature. They produce that tender, smoky, moist traditional barbecue that everyone seems to love. They infuse flavors into meats and create textures that cannot be replicated with a standard grill.

Smoking kitchens may not be for everyone. They require patience and it may take some trial and error experimentation before one really develops a solid understanding of how to slow cook various cuts of meat. However, the learning curve is not that steep and the quality of meals cooked on smoker grills has been more than enough to lead many people to add one to their outdoor cooking arsenal. It only takes one bite of a great barbecue to convince one to add smoked meats to their outdoor cooking repertoire.

We can attribute part of the growing popularity of smokers to another factor: price. Before the barbecue revolution took hold, one needed to build their own barrel smoker or traditional brick pit. Today, the market is awash with reasonably priced smoker ranges in a variety of sizes and designs. You can find small upright “bullet” smokers for under $100. Even larger offset smokers with barrel cooking chambers are now available at affordable prices. There are propane smokers, electric smokers, and many other barbecue units for sale in virtually every department store. Anyone can find an affordable smoker capable of producing incredible barbecue.

If you’re not a smoker, you may want to consider joining the movement. The sudden rise in popularity of smoking kitchens is no accident and certainly no fad. Smoker kitchens allow any master chef at home to replicate the American flavors of traditional barbecue. If you love “Q”, you owe it to yourself to find the right smoker for your needs and start cooking more often.

Pre-review of your home before renovation

A quick pre-check of your home before starting a renovation is always a good idea. Here are some things you want to check before committing to a minor or major renewal.

• Determine what elements of the house you can reuse: doors, windows, wood, cabinets, floors, etc.

• Make a list of things around the house you don’t like. Determine which design changes would most improve the lifestyle of someone who lives there: you or a potential buyer.

• If you can easily access your roof space, check insulation levels, roof condition, and whether major repairs are needed.

• Review showerheads to see if they need to be upgraded for energy efficiency.

• You may need professional advice regarding your hot water system. An electrical storage model will have the greatest greenhouse impact. If you have one, you need to consider whether it’s worth upgrading to a solar or natural gas system.

• You’ll want to reduce the energy use of your lighting. You’ll save money by replacing incandescent bulbs with warm white fluorescent bulbs. You can also use 50W halogen bulbs instead of lower wattage CRI bulbs. This will save energy.

• Identify potential hazards such as: termites, moisture, asbestos, structural or site access problems. These may cost you more money than you expected.

Unless you’re a property expert or design expert, renovating on a shoestring budget can be difficult. This is why you really need to plan and think about what you want to achieve ahead of time. It is very easy to start changing your mind, increasing the scope of work, while the renovation is taking place. This can drive your costs out of proportion.

You can use your time wisely by understanding the scope of your design brief, what you want your home to look like, and the form and function of each room in your home. You must create a plan that incorporates objectives and strategies to reach the final goal. You will need to include financial, emotional, or even design-related goals.

It’s usually a good idea to take a tour and write down everything you can see as you walk out the front door and into the house. When renewing, first impressions count. First impressions create the perception value of a home. One way is a nicely painted front door and a new doormat. That’s more attractive than a dirty door with fingerprints and dents and a dirty or torn doormat. It can take about $200 and a trip to a store like Home Depot or Lowes, and actually upgrade some homes massively with a “first impression” renovation. fix things like the exterior or interior painting of the entrance; mailbox, garden and landscaping; windows and curtains; front door, welcome mat, doorbell or hallway and even making sure there is a pleasant smell, not too strong, can do wonders to improve perceived value.

INNERpreneurship – The rise of one’s destiny

It all starts when you graduate from high school. Then you proceed to college or university. You complete those studies, graduate, and are ready to unleash your academic skills. You just want to go out and “Save the world”, right?

So, after several years of working (the number of years will vary from person to person), you sit down one day after losing your job (perhaps for the first time, second time, or more) and quit all the jobs you’ve ever had. Dyed. This is your “master resume”, which only you will see, in preparation for writing the focused resume you will send.

This is what he put on his master resume: 32 years of work, 15 jobs (that’s 2.2 years per job), shortest job was 3 months, longest job was 6.5 years, 3 jobs They were transition jobs. Ugh, you say. It is not surprising that you are somewhat bewildered and feel lost. This analysis resulted in another interview and a successful offer, which you accepted. You start your 16th job!

This well you have reason! That’s not you, that was me!

“Wow! How did that happen?” I ask.

Well, partly because I never gave up and adapted to the times with new resume formats and different marketing avenues, like LinkedIn. Tenacity also came into play (ie being stubborn). I also continued to work in my profession, without a segway in lawn care or grocery bagging (not that there’s anything wrong with that).

I reviewed those 32 years. It was easy because I created that “Master Resume” that allowed me to fly for 32 years, right on my desk. So I asked myself, “What changed during those 32 years?”

Good…

  • Recommendations are few or none
  • It seems that there is no business plan of 1, 3 and 5 years in companies
  • loss of teamwork
  • job instability
  • No loyalty to the employee.
  • The work schedule is shortened
  • Collaboration at work slimming down / dying out

For the employee, this results in;

  • suspicion
  • uncertainty
  • Loss of identity

I realized that I entered a new paradigm, without even knowing it.

“The people at the top are motivated by money, the people at the bottom are motivated by fear”

Fear of… losing their job… being demoted… left out… not being part of the TEAM… not being accepted as a contributing member.

Then one day we have an epiphany…

“The world doesn’t want to be saved! JUST SAVE YOURSELF”

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean this in a vindictive or blasphemous way.

We realize that the world has much bigger fish to fry than worry about us. The world doesn’t really care about us individuals. You have much bigger concerns to take care of…and that’s good because only we know what’s best for us…right? Of course!

As HAL said in 2001: A Space Odyssey, “Something wonderful is going to happen” – And it did!

I don’t know exactly when, but… something happened. I went into…

“Dawn of the INNERpreneur – INNERpreneurship”

Definition of INNERpreneurship: “INNERpreneurs use their facets to find fulfillment and personal growth, creatively, spiritually, emotionally… and create social change”

So what are some of the characteristics of an INNERpreneur?

  • high need for achievement and independence
  • low need for compliance
  • internal locus of control
  • love of ambiguity
  • propensity to take risks
  • obsessed with opportunity
  • total “outside the box” thinking

Not convinced? Have you noticed in the last 10 years or more, the variety and types of self-help, wake-up type books that have been written?

What I have experienced and probably noticed is that work deadlines have accelerated. What used to be a 33 year career and 1 job, has turned into 2-5 year block segments over the same 33 years. As the Internet has accelerated, so have people’s expectations;

  • Our expectations are rising (perhaps our expectations of ourselves too)
  • works on promise – under delivery
  • people, like you and me, want things to happen, things to progress

INNERentrepreneurs…

  • believe you should do what you are/love
  • see a different world
  • let their values/passion guide your life
  • innate need to be creative – unique path
  • do things differently – attracted to improve the world
  • alternative career approach with reflection periods

So what happened to me? Well, I got another job in my profession, actually a good job. But that brief dry spell, when the lights came on and I had an epiphany, well, that’s when I started my INNERpreneurship.

It was a magical moment, a perfect storm, so to speak. I had been a Toastmaster for 15 years, always loved radio, had experience on the web and social media, and wanted to harness all the leadership and public speaking skills he had learned and applied. So I thought… “why not project that forward to help others come out of their shell and help them move forward with their challenges and personal development, with leadership, team building and public speaking.”

And here is the best part. If one develops a product or service that someone is willing to pay for, then the INNERpreneurship can easily be migrated to an ENTREPRENEUR.

An INNERpreneurship could be many things, such as;

  • because
  • a charity
  • a philanthropy
  • a product
  • serve
  • volunteering
  • a book

Everyone has a passion that they can turn into an INNERpreneurship to fulfill their personal growth and create social change.
