How to patent your invention

A patent is a government-granted right that allows the inventor to exclude anyone else from making, using, or selling the invention in the country that issued the patent. The government grants this right to help encourage inventors to spend time, money, and effort inventing new products, technologies, and the like.

In the United States, the term of a new patent is 20 years from the filing date of the patent application or, in special cases, from the filing date of a related earlier application, subject to payment of maintenance fees.

When a patent expires, the invention enters the “public domain,” allowing anyone to make, use, or sell it without obtaining permission or paying royalties to the inventor. The government requires patents to expire because otherwise one person can control an entire industry if that person was the first to conceive of a type of product.

Patent law specifies the general field of subject matter that can be patented and the conditions under which a patent can be obtained for an invention. Any person who “invents or discovers any new and useful process, machine, manufacture, or composition of matter, or any new and useful improvement thereon, may obtain a patent,” subject to the conditions and requirements of the law.

For an invention to be patentable, it must be new, as defined in patent law, which states that an invention cannot be patented if: “(a) the invention was known or used by others in this country, or patented or described in a printed publication in this country or abroad, before the patent applicant invented it”, or “b) the invention was patented or described in a printed publication in this country or abroad, or in use public or for sale in this country more than one year prior to the patent application.

If the invention has been described in a printed publication anywhere in the world, or has been in public use or for sale in this country before the date the applicant made his invention, a patent cannot be obtained. If the invention has been described in a printed publication anywhere, or has been in public use or for sale in this country more than one year before the date a patent application is filed in this country, it cannot be obtained. a patent.

In this respect, it is irrelevant when the invention was made, or whether the printed publication or public use was by the inventor himself or by someone else. If the inventor describes the invention in a printed publication or uses the invention publicly, or puts it up for sale, he must apply for a patent within one year, otherwise he will lose any right to a patent on an invention. However, the inventor must file the application on the date of public use or disclosure to preserve patent rights in many foreign countries.

According to the law, only the inventor can apply for a patent for his invention, with certain exceptions. If the inventor is dead, the request can be made by the legal representatives, that is, the administrator or executor of the estate. If the inventor is crazy, the patent application for an invention can be made by a guardian. If an inventor refuses to apply for a patent for his inventions, or a co-inventor cannot be found, or, if no co-inventor is available, a person having an ownership interest in the invention may apply on behalf of the non-inventor. signing inventor.

If two or more people jointly make an invention, they apply for a patent as joint inventors. A person who only makes a financial contribution to the invention is not a joint inventor and cannot join the application as an inventor.

Krypton – Properties and uses

In 1898, Sir William Ramsey and Morris Travers discovered Krypton along with 2 other noble gases. Krypton is called noble as it does not react with other gases under normal circumstances. After its discovery, Krypton has gone on to become a highly sought-after chemical element in various sectors, from electronics to health. Krypton’s functional properties play an important role in allowing for its many uses to humans. However, to understand its uses, it is necessary to understand the basic properties.

Krypton Properties

Krypton is a noble gas without color, odor or taste. In the Earth’s atmosphere, it is found in minute quantities that originate from its presence of 1 part per million (PPM) in the air that surrounds us.

  • It is denoted by the symbol Kr with 36 as its atomic number on the periodic table of elements.
  • Its melting point is 251.25 F and the boiling point is -241.12 F.
  • Krypton has an atypical green and orange color due to the spectral lines it emits.
  • Its structure is crystalline with a face-centered cubic design like all other noble gases and has the same constituents.
  • At first Krypton was thought to be completely inert. However, fluorine, which is on the list of most reactive elements, was combined with krypton to produce compounds such as krypton difluoride and krypton tetrafluoride in 1963, shedding more light on the chemical behavior of krypton. latest.
  • Krypton is a non-toxic asphyxiant and can harm humans with its potential to trigger narcosis.

Kryptonian uses

  • Krypton has interesting uses in lighting systems. In everyday life, Krypton is used in lamps, advertising signs, billboards, etc. Energy consumption can be reduced by using fluorescent lighting in streetlights.
  • Filament evaporation in incandescent light bulbs can also be slowed down using Krypton.
  • MRI, magnetic resonance imaging, makes use of Krypton to obtain an image of the airways.
  • It is very useful on foggy days to illuminate the streets since its electrical generation capacity throws light at least 1000 feet. The crucial task of aircraft navigation on the runways is achieved by using the light of Krypton in deep fog.
  • High-speed scientific or professional photography uses it in the camera’s flash. Commonly used in slide and movie projectors.
  • To measure heat capacity or the amount of heat in a substance, Krypton is used to develop ‘quasi-homogeneous electromagnetic calorimeters’.
  • The more specific, but common, scientific use of Krypton comes in the definition of a meter. This is done by heating Krypton-86 until it emits a bright, reddish-orange line. Scientists measure a meter as 1,650,763.73 times the exact width of this kryptonic line.

Krypton’s past properties and uses make it a very important gas or chemical element. It is actually obtained by liquefaction of air by fractional distillation at a very high cost. The exorbitant cost discourages various sectors from using it extensively. New methods are being developed to obtain this gas affordably for various purposes.

Frock Off – Get rid of what no longer serves you

“Unknowingly or too scared to see what else was possible, I clung to our marriage for dear life until I realized I didn’t have to just survive. I had a choice: deal with my demons and dresses or live part time.” “. life in disguise One by one I shed my dresses… the power of acceptance washed over me, and I was on a mission to change my course.”

-Jo Dibblee, off dress; live without disguise

For me, reading Jo Dibblee’s memoirs, off dress; live without disguiseit was like reading the glass castle by Jeanette Walls. Both books were a real eye-opener in terms of what some children have to put up with at the hands of their own parents…and yet, despite such a rocky start, they manage to get their lives back on track.

With parents racked with secrets, guilt, and shame, as a child, Jo Dibblee quickly learned how to protect herself. Confronted with alcoholism, drug abuse, and depression from her parents, along with sexual assault and stalking from a foster parent, Jo began using a coping strategy she later called “frocking”—hiding her true self beneath layers. of “skirts”. .”

With humor and hope, Jo shares the harrowing rollercoaster ride of her life story, detailing wearing the dress: how she learned it and used it to survive, how she found it was holding her back, and what she needed to do, once and for all. for all. for everyone, to remove those dresses.

Despite the harsh truths, brushes with death, and agonizing betrayals, Jo’s heart shines through the pages of her memoir, offering promise, wisdom, and inspiration to any reader who has learned to hide and longs to be free.

Although I personally haven’t been in a position to feel the need to hide, Jo’s story inspired me. It seemed to me a miracle that Jo physically survived her incredible childhood, much less learned to thrive in the way that she has. But she has thrived…and she continues to be an inspiration to many, both because of who she is and what she does.

I first came across Jo in 2008, when she was speaking at a women’s networking event. Then we went our separate ways. Eight years later, our paths crossed again at a different event in a different city, and I was shocked to hear Jo’s story. I immediately ordered the book from her.

Despite all that has happened -or perhaps because everything that has happened – Jo is unstoppable in her commitment to empower women to reach their full potential.

“Frock-off” means shedding whatever is holding us back in life. Our “dresses” may be the lies we tell ourselves, or they may be the truths from our past that no longer serve us. Our dresses can be our stories, our excuses, our shame, our habits, our coping mechanisms, our fears, our circumstances, our limiting beliefs.

You name it, there are probably one or two dresses in most of our closets that should probably get the pull. There certainly is in mine…and reading Jo’s memoir was an important reminder that it’s not what happens to us in life that matters as much as how we choose to respond. Because it is always a choice to keep or throw away what we no longer need.

Some food combinations to avoid

Can you eat fruits with or after a meal? What proteins can be combined with starchy foods? Do some foods slow down your digestive rhythm? Are there some food combinations that should be avoided?

These are some questions that I will try to address in this article. I have also outlined the reasons why some food combinations are beneficial and why some of them should be strictly avoided.

Before we understand the rules about the best and worst food combinations, let’s define each food category:

  • Starchy foods: Pasta, bread, cereal, grains, potatoes/sweet potatoes, winter squash or squash
  • Non-starchy foods: asparagus, cabbage, cauliflower, cucumbers, onions, Brussels sprouts, artichokes, broccoli, celery, eggplant, mushrooms, green leafy vegetables, bell peppers, or zucchini
  • Protein: chicken, beef, eggs, fish, seeds, nuts, beans, vegetables, or soy products like tofu.
  • Fruits: Includes all sour, less sour, sweet fruits and melons

Let us see some combinations or combinations of foods that should be avoided:

1. Latte and Croissant:

This breakfast combo consists of processed foods like the croissant, which lacks fiber. This combination increases insulin levels in the blood and can cause a serious drop in blood sugar. It further decreases energy production in the cells and allows the liver to store excess calories as fat instead of using them for fuel.

As an alternative, it is better to include a whole-grain English muffin and black coffee for breakfast. This combination is rich in fiber and low in fat. The caffeine in the black coffee will help your cells burn fat faster, while the whole grain muffin will cause a slow release of energy.

2. Fruit with a meal:

Fruits are a rich source of sugar and can break down at a faster rate compared to a heavy meal, which consists of meat, vegetables, starch, etc. This leads to a fermentation reaction in the stomach and causes many digestive problems.

Similarly, combining some fruits with dairy can lead to bloating. Avoid eating citrus fruits with milk, however you can eat dates and milk. Fruits should be eaten individually and not with other foods. The best time to eat fruit is in the morning, on an empty stomach, with a glass of water, as it helps detoxify the system. You can also enjoy a fruit for an afternoon snack instead of reaching for those potato chips!

3. Dairy products with meat, fruits or vegetables.

Milk should be consumed alone. You can use some spices like cinnamon and cardamom to enhance the flavor of the milk. Avoid using milk with acidic foods. The acidic nature of these fruits curdles the milk in the stomach and can lead to many digestive problems. You can eat dates and milk.

Dairy products such as cheese and yogurt should not be combined with fish, eggs, beans, meat, etc.

On the other hand, clarified butter or ghee can be used for cooking vegetables as it shows similar properties as cooking oil.

4. Beans with dairy, eggs, fish, meat or fruit.

Although beans are very beneficial and produce vital micronutrients such as iron and magnesium, they contain a high amount of soluble fiber, which can cause flatulence. Combining this food product with meat, eggs, or dairy products can become very difficult to digest and can lead to bloating.

Instead, combine beans with nuts, other beans, vegetables, or lentils. These must be cooked thoroughly to aid in digestion.

5. Melons with other foods:

Melons should always be eaten plain or not eaten at all. They MUST NOT be combined with dairy products, cereals, fried foods, eggs or starchy foods.

So, in summary, some of the food combining rules are as follows:

1. Foods that CAN be combined:

• Starchy foods can be combined with non-starchy items.

2. Food combinations that SHOULD be avoided:

• Foods rich in starch and protein

• One form of protein with a different shape

3. Some foods that SHOULD BE EAT ALONE

• Melons

• Dairy products

These rules are based on the fact that all the different categories of food are digested at different rates and produce different by-products. For example, starchy and non-starchy foods can be mixed together as they can be digested at the same pH level; while starches and proteins are digested at different pH levels.

Also, some foods like fruits are digested faster than protein and therefore need to be eaten separately. If combined, it can overload the digestive system and decrease its efficiency.

Let’s look at an example of an ideal food combination:

  1. Breakfast: You can include a fruit bowl with bananas, berries or grapefruit
  2. Mid-morning snack: A whole wheat toast with avocado, scrambled eggs or vegetables. (Do not add cheese as 2 proteins are to be avoided and also dairy is eaten separately.) You can have a cup of black coffee.
  3. Lunch: A salad of tofu or chicken with vegetables such as lettuce, bell peppers, etc. You can also use a vinaigrette or olive oil dressing on the salad.
  4. Afternoon/night snack: You can include a fruit like apple or pear. It should be 2-3 hours before dinner.
  5. Dinner: Brown rice with any protein of your choice.

These food combinations are based on ancient Ayurvedic theories about which foods work best. Although not all of the rules can be followed in practice, you can always do your best to incorporate some of these rules into your daily life. Remember to include a wide variety of foods in your diets to get the most nutrients.

Narcissistic triangulation sabotages sibling relationships

Narcissistic parents divide their children through triangulation

Conflict is a normal part of family dynamics. The fact that a family argues from time to time does not make it a dysfunctional family unit. What makes a family dysfunctional is the emotional pain and confusion that prevails among its members. Those who grow up in this type of home carry a life of emotional struggles. Some of these fights are easy to identify, others are not.

Families influenced by narcissistic parents are always dysfunctional. Due to the plethora of crazy dynamics that exist within the family unit, there are many casualties suffered by children. Not only do they suffer as individuals, but the relationships between siblings also suffer.

It would seem that siblings suffering together under the stresses of crazy parenting would naturally band together to provide support, but that doesn’t often happen in families headed by narcissistic parents. It is no coincidence that one of the casualties of the NPD family is the relationship between the brothers.

Narcissistic parents are not capable of loving their children. Children are simply a source of “narcissistic supply”. The relationship that NPD parents have with their children is one of control and manipulation. There are many tactics used to achieve that. A common one is called “triangulation”.

Triangulation is a deceptive tactic used by the NPD parent to control and manipulate the balance of power in the family system. Parents’ goal is to prevent siblings from collaborating in ways that might interfere with their calculated goals. It all comes down to securing the narcissistic supply from the parents. As an addict, the father cannot survive without him. They need constant replenishment and will drop to any level to get their “fix”.

In order to gain control over the flow of information in the family, the father creates indirect communication between the brothers, putting themselves in the role of “middlemen”. In doing so, he or she controls the content of the information, the way the information flows, and the way it is interpreted. And there are more benefits; with everyone relating directly to him or her, the parent is always in the information loop and always remains the center of attention.

Since the NPD parent cannot prevent all communication between the siblings, he or she tries to create conflict and mistrust between them. The parent will fabricate information, tell lies and trust them and then tell them to keep secrets from each other. The father can speak ill of one brother to another. The parent may share information with one sibling, hoping that he will reach another and create drama. NPD parents really enjoy the excitement they can create among family members.

NPD parents maneuver in such a way that they can never be called out, either because of the way they carefully phrase their words or the fact that they are careful to make sure no one else witnesses their behavior. They always remain the innocent. If someone tries to call the parents out on their behavior, they will erupt in a narcissistic rage. Because this rage terrifies children, over time they learn to do everything in their power to avoid it.

Due to the dynamics of the NPD family, children easily fall prey to their NPD father’s manipulations. NPD parent care, whether positive or negative, is a rare commodity that every sibling must live for. One brother’s loss becomes another brother’s gain. The relationship between the children is sacrificed as each selfishly competes for crumbs of affection and favor from the parents; attention that is activated and deactivated at the will of the parents.

What further upsets the balance of affection doled out to children is the fact that NPD parents assign roles to their children. There is usually a golden child, one who seems to get the most praise from parents, a scapegoat, one who gets blamed for everything that goes wrong in the family, and an invisible child, one who doesn’t get much praise. neither praise nor blame. These roles are not always stationary. They can change at the will of the NDP parents.

NDP parents educate their children well; the control they have over them when they are young continues well into adulthood. That will not change until all children realize and accept that their parents’ destructive behavior is responsible for all the problems between them.

Adult children of narcissistic parents become a very powerful force once they gang up on their abuser. Only then does the NPD parent lose all control over them; a fate feared worse than death.

Is a Bavarian Mountain Hound the dog for you?

I had never heard of a Bavarian Mountain Hound before my partner, Anton, broached the topic of getting one. We already had two black Labs, a terrier, and two cats. As far as I was concerned, our animal family was complete.

All of our animals worked. The two farmers worked with Anton during bird season to retrieve pheasants, woodcocks, snipes and ducks. The terrier would catch any rats around our farm and the cats would catch mice and leave their headless carcasses on our front step. Anton, however, felt that there was room for one more animal in our herd; a Bavarian Mountain Hound to help him track down live and injured deer during deer season. Similar to a Beagle in size but reddish-brown in color with a black face, it has a short coat and weighs about 70 pounds when fully grown. Hunters use this breed when tracking deer to shoot or when wounding a deer but still able to run. They are bred to track deer through the mountains of Bavaria and can track an injured deer for miles.

I had a hard time persuading. The animals we already had were expensive and very hard, yet rewarding, work. Bavarian Mountain Dogs are relatively new to Ireland so it was difficult to find other people to ask questions about the breed. I researched everything I could online and while I didn’t find anything objectionable about them, they still didn’t sell me. Because they are a rare breed in Ireland, we knew that if we wanted one, we would have to be on a waiting list. Anton made some preliminary calls and, to his disappointment, he discovered that there were only a handful of breeders in Ireland and that all of his puppies were booked for that year. I was relieved because it meant I had more time to make sure this was the race for us. I had some specific concerns about the breed. First of all, we live in a rural community and had read that they were not reliable without lead if they picked up an odor. We let our dogs run free around our house often and I was afraid a Bavarian Mountain Hound would run too far or worse, chase the neighboring sheep.

We get on with our lives and put the dog out of our minds. A few weeks passed when a breeder from Northern Ireland contacted Anton. He had been disappointed by someone who had booked a male puppy and he wanted to know if we would be interested. We talked about it for a few days and Anton had long talks with the breeder and we finally decided to give it a try. The puppy was eight weeks old when we decided we wanted him. The breeder recommended that we name him now and collect him when he was sixteen weeks old, that way I could do preliminary training with him. He also invited Anton for a day to do some hunting so he could watch his mother and father work. We were both happy with this arrangement and decided to call our newest addition Riley.

A few weeks later, Anton made the long trip to Northern Ireland to pick up Riley. He met his mother Heidi and his father Alfie and spent time with the breeder learning about our new pet. When they got home, I met Riley at the door and fell in love instantly. Lanky and shy at first, he followed me into the living room and climbed onto my lap.

Riley was definitely not what he expected the breed to be. All the research he did before bringing him home was helpful, but he had a lot more to learn. He was adorable, like all puppies, with his big dark face and long clumsy legs. We kept him by our side for the first few days as we had with all of our puppies. Unlike our other pups, Riley was very calm and not prone to the random outbursts of emotion that we had experienced with Labradors and terriers. He loved our company and, unlike the crazy Beagle-type dog he expected, he was lazy and loved lounging by the fire. At night he went to his pen in our shed with the other dogs and didn’t cry or bark. He was a far cry from the separation anxiety all of our other dogs had experienced and, in short, he couldn’t believe our luck.

Our first insight into the negative traits of the breed was a few days after we brought Riley home. He was so calm and didn’t seem anxious about being in the pen at night, so we didn’t think to leave him alone in our living room while we went shopping. We drew our curtains so the cats couldn’t bother him at the window and set off on our short trip. This was a big mistake. When we got back home, I immediately noticed that the curtains were now open. On closer inspection, they were not open. They had been cut in half. Yes, our wonderful, calm and placid puppy was, in fact, a normal puppy after all.

Riley is almost a year old and the Bavarian Mountain Hound is my favorite breed of dog. He is loyal, intelligent, and a fantastic hunting partner for Anton. They tracked many deer together this season and although he is lazy and loves to lounge by the fire at home, when he hunts he is dedicated and committed and can go for miles. As he demonstrated by destroying my beautiful curtains, he hates being alone and is very destructive when left alone inside for too long. As I write this, he is curled up next to me with his head on my shoulder. He is fiercely loyal and affectionate towards his owners, as is typical of the breed. He gets along with the other dogs, but he definitely sees himself more as a human than a dog and seeks human company over canine. His hunting instinct makes him chase the poor cats if they get in his way, but he is kind and loving with children. He is not a guard dog, where Labradors and terriers will bark at the house if they hear someone outside, he will barely raise his head from the bed.

If you’re considering adding a Bavarian Mountain Hound to your family, there are a few things you should seriously consider. Do you have an interest in hunting? These dogs are scent driven and it is in their nature to hunt. They enjoy tracking over any other form of play and exercise. Do you have a lot of time to spend with the dog on a daily basis? This breed adores their owners and gets very upset when they can’t be with them. Can you commit to loving and caring for a dog for about fourteen years? If you can answer yes to these questions and decide to adopt a Bavarian Mountain Hound, you will find yourself a loyal and loving companion for years to come. Adding Riley to our family was one of the best decisions we have ever made, I hope this article helps you make the right decision for your animal family.

Top Five Qualities of a Good General Contractor

What makes a good general contractor? To start with, we should probably break down what a general contract does. Their scope of work includes arranging for all subcontractors, or individuals who perform specific jobs during the construction or remodeling process, such as window installation company, painters, tilers, and more. Your job is to keep your project on time and on budget. As with any job, there are good contractors and not-so-good contractors. Here are some things to keep in mind when considering a company for your home remodeling or construction of your new home:

1. Knowledge of Construction. If your general contractor isn’t familiar with construction, he won’t know if the subcontractors are doing a good job. Roof leaks, drafty doors and windows, interior leaks, and shoddy work can all happen if a contractor doesn’t know what to look for. Make sure whoever you hire has construction experience and understands how to get quality work done. Ask questions before you hire someone.

2. Good communication skills. Remember, this is the person who will become your voice. He/she will communicate her vision and needs to everyone else who comes to work in your home. They need to understand what you’re looking for and then share it in a way that makes what you want happen.

3. A solid group of subcontractors. Most general contractors, who have been in business for a while, have a group of subcontractors that they work with on a regular basis. This means that there is trust and knowledge of how and how quickly they work. Things generally work better when people have worked together before.

4. Knowledge of the necessary permits for the area. Each state and city has different rules and regulations regarding home construction and additions/expansions. Some have to do with earthquake safety, such as in areas that run near fault lines, some have to do with storm protection for coastal areas. If your house isn’t built to code, you could be forced to tear it down. Construction within property boundaries is also critical. If you rebuild, at some point you will probably be responsible for removing all the hard work that went into building your home or addition.

5. Ability to save you money without compromising materials. Some people think they can save money by acting as their own general contractor. This is similar to people picking up a camera and thinking they are a photographer.

Contractors are trained to know what to look for. Your job is to organize and know what types of materials work and how they work together. His knowledge is invaluable when it comes to building a house. If you don’t have construction experience, you’ll probably save more money by letting a general contractor take over.
