6 steps to job hunting using your networking contact list

When you are looking for a job, in addition to consulting newspaper ads and specialized job search engines on the Internet, you should also request information from the people on your network’s contact list.

Your personal contacts can provide you with up-to-date information about the company and job openings that are not advertised on the regular job market. Sometimes when they don’t provide information about the job opening you’re looking for, your contacts may refer you to someone else who might be able to provide you with the information you’re looking for about the industry, company, or position of interest.

This is an example of what networking is. Networking is when you start reaching out to your contact list to get the necessary information or referrals from your friends’ network of contacts. Many people are repelled by the idea of networking. Some critics of networking believe that it is not a reliable source of information about the industry, companies, or job openings. Others say it’s easier to stick with traditional job market postings than it is to rely on networking to get the information we need as part of our job search efforts.

You may not have noticed, but you’re already networking on a daily basis and you just don’t know it. As you go about your daily tasks, you interact with people you know; the hairdresser, the bank manager, your neighbors, your friends and family, your current and former co-workers, classmates and other acquaintances. All these people, who are a potential source of information, leads and contacts for a position of interest. To make the overall networking process easier, here are some basic but important tips:

  • Make a list of your “warm contacts”

Well, Walt Disney once said that “everything starts with a mouse”. When it comes to networking, it all starts with a list. We call this list a warm contact list because it includes people you know who will reach out to you without much hesitation or contact you because they know who you are. To some people, this may seem like a scary step, so as you get more comfortable with the process, start with your closest family and friends, and then expand your list to include other acquaintances. Remember that the warm contact list includes people you know and interact with, compared to a cold contact list that includes people you haven’t had any contact with for a while.

  • Contact people on your network list

When contacting a contact in your network, please let them know that you are actively looking for work. Be honest about what kind of job you’re looking for and ask if they know of job openings in your area of interest. By letting your contacts know your preference for job type, industry, and companies of interest, you will allow them to help provide you with quality information, referrals, or contacts. It is very important to share your contact information with your network, so they can contact you if they learn of anything. It has been my personal experience that some of my network contacts have even asked me for a copy of my resume so they can pass it on to their network, so have an updated resume ready if they ask.

  • Do a self-assessment before contacting your network

As you go through the process of contacting your network, they will likely want to know more about your experience, skills, expectations, and job preferences to better assist you. You should be able to provide this information concisely and describe what kind of information you want your contact to provide.

Many business recruiting and human resources professionals suggest that you prepare a short script that you can practice with. They call this script the “elevator pitch” or “two-minute pitch,” where you can articulate your job expectations and preferences, relevant experience, and skills in about two minutes. In the event that a more detailed conversation is needed, a short follow-up meeting or a call to review your resume may be necessary.

  • Ask for referrals from your network contacts

In the event that the person you contact cannot provide you with the information you need for your job search efforts, you may request information from at least two people who can assist you. Ask if your contact could send an introductory note of the call before calling or emailing the reference.

  • When referred, act on your referrals immediately

When you are referred to someone else, your contact may contact you to introduce you and let you know that you will be in touch. So stay in touch with your network for a good time to make your move within a few days of being referred.

When calling the referred person, maintain proper business etiquette. When you make the call, introduce yourself and let the person know who referred you and how you relate to your contact. Be direct, but courteous, when sharing with the person the information that interests you.

Sometimes the person you were referred to may call your contact after your call. So it’s a good idea to call your contact to share how the call went and, more importantly, to thank them for the referral.

  • Always be available to add value to your network

This is a crucial point. Networking is a two-way street when it comes to adding value to each other. As you help your network, your people will be more willing to help you with information and referrals, when the time comes.

As you gain experience through practice, you will discover that networking is not an unknown science, but rather an interesting, fun and rewarding experience for your “team”. It’s also one of the most important tools when it comes to taking your career enhancement and overall job search strategies to the next level.

Granite Countertops: An Overview

Home builders and remodelers have seen a boom in demand for granite countertops in kitchens and bathrooms. The beauty and warmth of granite make it an ideal material for aesthetic appeal in home design, and the durability and easy care of granite countertops keep them a favorite with homeowners looking to the future. Although adding granite countertops to any kitchen can be quite expensive, they are still the first choice in luxury homes as they hold their value better than most other upgrades.

Granite, like marble and other popular stones, is as old as the earth. Granite is found throughout the world. As a preferred material, granite was used in the construction of temples and other public buildings in ancient societies. In the recent past, many builders continued to use granite for pillars and exterior finishes. Stone purveyors did not begin experimenting with polished granite until 1831. The preference for polished granite began in 1851, when a finished piece of granite was displayed in London at the Great Exhibition of the Industry of All Nations.

Granite is an excellent medium for countertops as it is the most durable stone of all. The hardness of granite is only rivaled by the hardness of diamonds. The durability and versatility of granite countertops make them a favorite of home and professional chefs. Granite can withstand the placement of a hot pot and serves as an excellent surface for handling dough and confectionery. The natural beauty of granite countertops complements any wood tone or cabinetry style, from French country to sleek modern styles. Granite is an attractive stone that adds color and warmth to any room.

A popular choice of designers for decades, granite countertops have now become popular with the public. There are literally hundreds of colors of granite, from variations of white to browns, reds, greens, blues, and blacks. Shades of brown and beige are the most popular, as they work well with most kitchen color schemes, allowing for more flexibility in redecorating over the years. Some of the granite colors exhibit “”movement”” or a pattern within the natural color. The movement of large patterns can quickly draw the eye over the counter surface, while small patterns have a calmer appearance. The combination of color and movement means that no two countertops are exactly alike.

While granite countertops are a favorite choice due to their beauty and durability, they are not immune to damage. Regular care includes proper cleaning and the use of sealers to prevent staining. Although granite is quite hard, it can easily chip. A qualified professional can perform repairs that are almost invisible.

Granite countertops can cost more than other countertop materials, with prices starting at $60 per square foot installed. Most of the cost is not in the stone, but in the quarrying, cutting, transportation, polishing, and installation work. It is not recommended for the DIY homeowner to take on this project. Despite granite’s strength, large slab sheets must be precisely cut to fit countertops and are very delicate when shipped. Special care must be taken to reinforce base units, and the slab must be placed perfectly level. If you don’t lay a granite countertop properly, it could break during regular use.

When a homeowner wants the utility of granite countertops but is unable or unwilling to pay a premium, discount granite for countertops may be a good option. Retailers maintain stone groupings or levels based on popularity of color and movement. Lower level stone cuts maintain the characteristics that granite is known for consistent, but the hue of a color can vary depending on current fashion trends.

Granite countertops will continue to be a favorite of homeowners, architects, and interior designers. The timeless beauty and durability of granite make it a home improvement treasure that will last a lifetime.

Fast Charge Battery Research: Hot, Super High Tech, and Awesome!

Ever since mobile phones became popular, the importance of rechargeable electric batteries has been steadily growing all over the world. According to Wikipedia, in 2013, there were an estimated 6.8 billion mobile phones in use worldwide (including smartphones) and 97 out of 100 people in the world owned at least one mobile phone. These numbers include some of the poorest among us. While a large number of users do not go beyond making simple voice calls (and infrequent text messages), the availability of excellent and easy-to-use free ‘apps’ (or apps), which are growing in variety and number day by day, it is gradually attracting many in this category to become ‘mainstream’ mobile phone users. Many people who use PCs as their primary computing device today, aware that PCs will soon give up their preeminent position in the computing world, are also starting to switch to smartphones. These factors are expected to lead to a 35% increase in the number of smartphone users by 2020 (or 9.2 billion users worldwide).

As smartphones become thinner, lighter, smarter, use larger screens, etc., they also consume more power. Therefore, the critical need for high-capacity, super-fast-charging batteries that can be recharged a large number of times before being disposed of, is critical to the success of future smartphones.

There are also other important applications that depend on fast-charging batteries for their well-being. One is the much celebrated electric vehicle (EV) industry. Users expect battery recharge time to be comparable to the time it would take to refuel at a gas station today, ie in the order of 4-5 minutes. Another very important application is in smart grids, those smart electrical energy management stations, where the inputs and outputs of electricity to users are managed. Large capacity batteries with fast charge/discharge are required to store excess power (whenever input exceeds demand) and release it when there is a shortfall. Somewhat less critical, but important, are fast-charging batteries used in smart watches, smart homes, and personal health devices (PHDs).

A couple of years ago, it became unmistakably clear that lithium-ion batteries (the best battery technology in use today) would be grossly unsuitable for future requirements. There is such a wide gap between lithium-ion technology and the projected battery of the future, that it became quite obvious that nothing short of a “quantum leap” (or revolution) in battery technology would suffice. That’s why, while it hadn’t yet been in the news, feverish and frantic research had been launched at many major university and corporate R&D centers to find the exalted battery technology of the future with features such as: time of charge in the order of a few minutes or even seconds (wow!), lower weight (which is reduced by half in the case of EV batteries), higher capacity, safety (no fires or electrical explosions expected that remember the Boeing 787 mishaps of 2013!), significantly lower cost, easy handling, and cycle times in the thousands and ten thousands.

To think of achieving a “quantum leap” in technology in 1 or 2 years would have left many in the scientific community dumbfounded in the recent past. But now things have changed! Man, having advanced the frontiers of scientific knowledge by unprecedented leaps and bounds in recent times, today’s researchers, sitting on the pinnacles of scientific knowledge, seem to offer highly promising solutions in the blink of an eye!

So here is a list of the most promising technologies that are being researched at the time of writing this article. (Note: Fast-charging battery research is currently awash with many alternative technologies vying for the number 1 spot. Being so numerous, the author has not attempted to present an exhaustive list. Instead, the list below represents the best of everything, in your opinion.)

ALUMINUM-GRAPHITE TECHNOLOGY (see reference numbers 2 and 4 for details):

At the top of the list is the aluminum-graphite technology being developed at Stanford University, USA. It’s amazing because of its 1-minute (yes, 60-second!) charging time. While its capacity is about half that of lithium-ion, it more than makes up for this shortcoming with its incredible charging time. Compared to lithium-ion lifespan of approximately 1,000 charge cycles, aluminum graphite lasts at least 7,500 cycles. It’s also much safer than Li-ion: researchers say that even if you puncture it, it won’t catch fire!

ALUMINUM-AIR TECHNOLOGY (FOR VE) (Reference numbers 1 and 2):

In the aluminum-air (Al-air) battery, oxygen from the air is used at the cathode and therefore a separate oxidizer is not necessary. This type of battery has energy densities that could supply an EV with enough power to put it up to par with its gasoline-powered counterparts. Range on a single full charge is approximately 1000 miles! A couple of top-ups may be all you need if you drive up to 2,000 miles per month!

The amazing thing about this battery is that it weighs only half of the current lithium battery. Without half the weight of the battery, you get much more payload to carry passengers and goods (Note: The battery is by far the heaviest component in an EV. In the Tesla Roadster, for example, the battery contributes about one-third of the total weight, so the weight saved, i.e. one-sixth of the total, is considerable).

ALUMINUM-AIR TECHNOLOGY (FOR EVs) (Reference No.2):

This is a different type than the Al-air technology discussed above. Awesome because it runs on water (both ordinary and sea water) and has 40 times the capacity of Li-ion!

FAST CHARGING BASED ON NANOTECHNOLOGY (Reference No.5):

StoreDot Ltd., an Israeli high-tech fast-charging battery company, will soon launch “FlashBattery for SmartPhones,” a universal charger for smartphones. The company uses proprietary organic compounds created/manipulated using nanotechnology.

What makes it amazing? You can recharge any phone, regardless of make or model, in a minute (max)!

In addition to phones, the charger can be used to charge portable devices, PHDs, tablets, and the like. However, there is a catch: although it is tested, it is not commercially available yet! It may take a year from now before it’s available in retail stores.

StoreDot will also offer “FlashBattery for EV”, a fast charger for electric cars soon. This product is programmed to charge a car battery in just five minutes!

FAST CHARGE OVER RADIO WAVES (Reference No.2):

In this technology, the electrical energy used for charging is transmitted through radio waves.

Not too surprising, except that it’s wireless and charges from up to 20 feet away. And there is also a catch: it is not immediately available on the market.

ORGANIC FLOW TECHNOLOGY (Reference No.2 and Wikipedia):

Developed by MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), organic flow technology generates electricity using an organic substance, AQDS (9,10-anthraquinone-2,7-disulfonic acid) as a charge carrier.

It amazes us by reducing 97% of the cost of electricity production (battery source), while metal batteries provide 1 KWh of energy for $700, organic flow batteries give you that amount of energy for only $27.

NANOBATTERIES (Reference numbers 2, 6 and Wikipedia):

Nanobatteries are made from “nano” sized batteries (ie sizes in the range of 10 to the power of -9 meters). “Nano” batteries are created by placing two electrodes in a small hole (or “nanopore”) in an electrically insulating membrane or metal compound (such as aluminum oxide) separated by a thin insulating film. A large number of “nanopores” fuse together to form a complete battery.

Anything superlative about them? Yes! The nanopores are so small that they are not individually visible. They can hold up to four times the power of lithium ions and fully charge in 10 minutes. In addition, they have a useful life of about 1,000 charging cycles.

NTU LITHIUM-TITANIUM DIOXIDE TECHNOLOGY (FOR EV) (Reference No.7 and Wikipedia):

This is a technological breakthrough from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) based in Singapore. By changing the graphite cathode found in lithium-ion batteries to a low-cost gel made from titanium dioxide, NTU claims to have developed an ultra-fast-charging battery that charges to 70% capacity in two minutes. In addition to the charging time of two minutes, what is surprising is its extraordinary service life of 20 years.

Aimed primarily at electric vehicles, the battery life factor is expected to greatly reduce costs that would otherwise have arisen due to frequent battery replacements.

NOTE: As mentioned above, fast-charging battery research is an evolving field currently teeming with several alternative technologies that show promise. Technologies based on metal foam substrate, silicon, sodium ions, urine-fueled microbial fuel cells, solar power, hydrogen, candle soot, and several others that are in research and development were overlooked in making the above list. , which the author believes are the best on the list. batch One notable omission is Meredith Perry’s “charging by air” technology, which uses electricity transmitted via ultrasound to charge. A long-awaited and coveted technology until recently, it apparently failed recent evaluation tests and had to be scrapped.

What to look for when choosing the best PPC companies?

If you’re looking for a professional search marketing company to manage your PPC, also known as Pay Per Click, activities, you’re not alone. There are a number of entrepreneurs who are turning to online marketing companies to help develop and monitor their PPC campaigns, and the benefits of doing so are becoming very clear.

There are several leading advanced tracking software that allow marketing companies to tell their customers exactly how much money they are spending and how many website visits, phone calls and email leads they are receiving through their campaign. Whenever you decide it’s time to turn to a PPC marketing company, make sure you’re investing in the right platform. In general, here are some things that are common among the popular PPC companies.

1) They offer you complete transparency: For some reason, some of the marketing companies do not give you all the details when it comes to showing how your budget is being spent. Never hire a PPC company that wants a monthly payment, but isn’t willing to give you a detailed report of your campaign budget. Always hire a company that will provide you with a complete and detailed account of every penny spent.

2) They won’t overspend – Many companies charge a lot per click due to their poorly managed campaigns and fan strategies. On the other hand, custom PPC management packages will lower your pay per click and give you more clicks for your money.

3) They offer full industry integration: The more familiar a search marketing campaign is to your industry, the better results they can deliver for you. A good ppc management company will provide you with metrics that are specifically tailored to your industry. They also tell you what you’re paying per phone call, email lead, and what your lead conversion rate is.

4) They deep link: PPC ads that are optimized for your website’s URL structure and direct visitors to your inventory pages instead of the home page increase Google’s Quality Scores. These higher quality scores lead to lower cost per click rates and this can result in increased leads and better ad placement.

5) They provide complementary analytics: There’s no question that Google AdWords services provide a variety of data through analytics. the respectable pay per click companies It will give you data about various pages within your website, number of visitors and use of call to action buttons. These analytics help you make better marketing decisions.

The truth about losing weight

Every year thousands of articles are written on how to lose weight, and each of them suggests a different way to do it. The truth, however, is that any excess weight you may have is related to the number of calories you take in and how many you consume each day. It is as simple as that, and no one can prove otherwise. It’s like the gasoline you put in your car: you put so much and you travel so far. In the case of your body, you eat a certain amount of food and it sustains you for a certain period of time. If you eat more than you consume, the excess calories are stored as fat.

Let’s consider in detail the calories you take in and consume each day. It turns out that there are three main types of calorie burning. The first is known as the basal metabolic rate or BMR. It is the largest of the three and is your resting metabolism; in other words, it’s the number of calories you burn when sitting down. It is used to feed cells, keep the heart beating, the lungs working, the brain working, etc. About 60 to 80 percent of the total calories you burn each day are BMR calories.

The second largest calorie burn comes from the thermionic effect of eating. It may seem a bit strange, but calories are needed to burn calories, in other words, to digest food. For protein you need about 25 calories for every 100 calories consumed, and for carbohydrates and fat you need about 10 to 15 calories for every 100 calories consumed. And that can add up to a substantial amount of calories. It accounts for between 10 and 30 percent of the total calories you burn each day.

Finally we come to the one that might surprise you, namely exercise and body movement in general. Most people think that exercise makes a big contribution, but it doesn’t. This does not mean that it is not important, it is. You can easily burn 500 calories in an intensive workout, but in general, for most people, exercise and body movement account for only about 10 to 15 percent of the calories they burn in a day.

Now let’s apply the above to a typical woman and man. First of all, we need the BMR formulas, and they are as follows:

Adult male: 66+ (6.3 times your body weight in pounds) + (12.9 times your height in inches) – (6.8 times your age in years).

Adult female: 655 + (4.3 times her weight in pounds) + (4.7 times her height in inches) – (4.7 times her age in years).

As an example, we will assume that you are a 40-year-old woman who weighs 140 pounds and is five foot two. Plugging in the appropriate numbers, we find her BMR to be 1360. For her thermionic calories, we multiply 0.15 times the total number of calories she ate for the day. Suppose it was in 1900; therefore, your thermionic calories are 285. The contribution of exercise and body movement is a bit more difficult to determine exactly, as it depends on the intensity and duration of exercise throughout the day. We’ll assume it didn’t work; in this case your contribution will probably be about 200 calories. And this gives you a grand total of 1845 calories.

If you consumed 1,900 calories during the day, you are eating an excess of 55 calories. This doesn’t sound like much, but in two months (if you do this every day) you’ll gain a pound and in a year you’ll gain 6 pounds. (I’m using the fact that there are 3500 calories in a pound here).

Let’s do the same thing with a 40-year-old man who is six feet tall and weighs 170 pounds. Substituting in our BMR formula we get 1793. In this case we will assume a caloric intake of 2600; multiplying it by 0.15 gives 390 for the thermionic calories of it. For exercise and body movement, let’s say he consumes 300 calories (this means he didn’t exercise during the day). Therefore, his grand total is 2483, and if he ate 2600 calories for the day, he would be in excess of 117 calories. This will add up to a pound of weight every 30 days and about 12 pounds in a year.

It’s easy to see from this that weight gain can go unnoticed if you’re not careful. Even a few excess calories each day can add up to significant weight gain over the year. The best way to monitor how well you’re balancing your calories in and out is, of course, to weigh yourself every so often, and if you find yourself gaining weight gradually, you should take steps to turn things around as soon as possible. . You will need to slightly reduce your calorie intake or exercise more. And I’d like to emphasize that while exercise doesn’t seem to make much of a contribution to the total calories we consume in a day, it can be very important. As I mentioned earlier, a good workout can burn up to 500 calories, and this could easily offset any excess you may have.

Shelf Corporations Uncensored – The Truth About Shelf Corps

Shelf bodies or shelf corporations are typically corporations that have been left on the “Shelf” to age. Typically, individuals buy dormant corporations to

1. Have access to credit that they would not have access to with brand new corporations.
2. Have the ability to apply for a government contract. Some contracts require companies to be two years old or older.

When searching for old corporations, you will notice that there are law firms that sell dormant corporations as well as dormant corporation providers. Many of the shelving sellers who claim to sell shelving and build business credit with it are scammers. In 2010, it is impossible to get $150K in unsecured credit with a corporation. So if you see something like this being advertised, you should know that it is a scam.

You’ll usually be able to get 20K-50K (50K is a bit of a stretch) no PG cash trade credit with a corporation, so if you’re looking for more than this, you’ll need to get more than one corporation. These lines of credit can be obtained in as little as 2 weeks if done correctly. Due to the lower range of business credit that is acquired with dormant corporations, you may want to take a hard look at how much you are paying for a dormant corporation. I suggest you pay no more than $4000 for a shelf corporation with an established credit history and no more than $3000 for one with no paydex.

What you need to know about shelf corporations is that most shelf corporation providers do not sell actual shelf corporations. They acquire corporations that are now out of business, reincorporate them, and sell them. Thing is, these bodies cost the reseller $150-$300 and resell for $2000+. It will be difficult for me to explain everything in this article, but I will cover as much as I can in the little space I have.

Basically, you need to go to the state you are interested in on the Secretary of State’s website and search for corporations that have to pay their state fees. You then check the credit of the corporation you would like to acquire to make sure there is good credit or not bad credit (depending on whether you simply want a dormant corporation with a good paydex score or a clean corporation). Once you have identified the corporation you want, you will want to contact the previous owner of the corporations and ask them to agree to transfer the corporation to you.

This process is simple but there are two parts of the process that are a bit tricky. First of all, checking credit at an affordable price is challenging. You pay DnB $100+ for a full DnB credit file from the specific corporation. The other tricky part of the process is getting the owner to transfer the business to you. I have covered both topics in two of my e-books. My blog also has a lot of free and valuable information on how to build business credit from scratch.

In conclusion, buying a dormant corporation is something that can be very beneficial in building business credit quickly. Just be very careful who you buy it from and consider how much you pay for it.

narcissistic abusers

However, the residual effects of any abuse can be devastating when most people think of abuse, be it spousal, parental, etc. – Tend to focus on physical abuse. Mental and emotional abuse can be just as or more damaging, especially when the abuser is someone close to the abused.

Perhaps the worst kind of abuse comes at the hands of those who are so preoccupied with themselves that they don’t see or care about the results of their actions. This type of narcissistic abuse can be found in many different types of relationships, including parent-child, spouse/partner, and even friendships. Emotional abuse by a narcissistic parent can be especially insidious as it can damage the child’s ability to form stable relationships in the future. It has been proposed that due to the lack of an appropriate healthy relationship model, those who experienced emotional abuse as children tend to end up in abusive relationships similar to those of adults.

In the United States, the 1980s were considered a time when self-centeredness and self-centeredness were not only acceptable, but expected. The “Me Generation” had created new extremes of narcissism. Many were willing to ignore the welfare of others for their own good.

Despite this internal focus, most of the people we think of when we think of this time period were not true narcissists in the strictest sense. The term narcissism is derived from the Greek story of Naissus, a hunter who was the son of the river god Cephissus and the nymph Liriope. He possessed such beauty that even he could not free himself from the attraction. The god Nemesis tricked him into staring into a pond in which he saw and fell in love with his own reflection, only to die there beholding his own beautiful features.

Narcissism is defined as “excessive fascination with oneself; excessive self-love; vanity” or in psychoanalytic terms as “erotic gratification derived from the admiration of one’s own physical or mental attributes, being a normal condition in the infantile level of development of the personality”. This term is used for common self-absorption. In 1968, an extreme form was added to the psychological literature as a definable diagnosis.

The current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-V) of the American Psychiatric Association defines Narcissistic Personality Disorder as:

A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), a need for admiration, and a lack of empathy, beginning in early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:
1. Has a grandiose sense of self-importance (eg, exaggerates accomplishments and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate accomplishments).
2. Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love.
3. Believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should be associated with, other special or high-status people (or institutions).
4. Requires excessive admiration.
5. You have a sense of entitlement, that is, unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic fulfillment of your expectations.
6. Is interpersonally exploitative, that is, he takes advantage of others to achieve his own ends.
7. Lacks empathy: Unwilling to acknowledge or identify with the feelings and needs of others.
8. Is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him.
9. Shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes.

In addition, the following criteria must be met to justify a diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder:

HAS.
Significant impairments in personality functioning are manifested by:
1. Impairments in autonomous functioning (aob):
has. Identity: Excessive reference to others for self-definition and self-esteem regulation; exaggerated self-assessment may be inflated or deflated, or vacillate between extremes; emotional regulation reflects fluctuations in self-esteem.
b. Self-Direction: Goal setting is based on gaining the approval of others; personal standards are unreasonably high to view oneself as exceptional, or too low based on a sense of entitlement; often unaware of their own motives.

Y

2. Impairments in interpersonal functioning (aob):
has. Empathy: Impaired ability to recognize or identify with
feelings and needs of others; overly attuned to the reactions of others, but only if perceived as relevant to oneself; overestimation or underestimation of one’s own effect on others.
b. Intimacy: Relationships are largely superficial and exist to serve the regulation of self-esteem; reciprocity restricted by little genuine interest in the experiences of others and predominance of a need for personal benefit

Pathological personality traits in the following domain:
1. Antagonism, characterized by:
has. Grandiosity: Feelings of entitlement, whether overt or covert;
egocentrism; hold firmly to the belief that one is better than others; condescending to others.
b. Attention Seeking: Excessive attempts to attract and be the focus of others’ attention; amazing.
against Deficits in the functioning of the personality and the expression of the individual’s personality traits are relatively stable over time and constant in all situations.
d. Impairments in personality functioning and the expression of the individual’s personality traits are not best understood as normative for the developmental stage or sociocultural environment of the individual.
me. Impairments in personality functioning and the expression of an individual’s personality traits are not due solely to the direct physiological effects of a substance (eg, a drug of abuse, medication) or a general medical condition (eg, eg, a severe head injury).

While all of this may seem overwhelming, by focusing on a few key parts of the diagnosis, we can see how a relationship with someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder could easily turn into hell. As stated in the first quote, people with narcissistic personality disorder feel that they are more important than other people. They don’t just put themselves on a pedestal, they think everyone else does the same. A healthy relationship is not one where one person lords it over the other, but these narcissists cannot form healthy relationships.

As we see in the second quote, there is an inability to form proper bonds due to a lack of empathy for others or to form intimate relationships. The fact that it is especially revealing “Relationships [are] largely superficial and exist to serve the regulation of self-esteem.” (emphasis added).

A relationship with someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder is a one-way street. All attention and emotional support flow from the individual to the narcissist. These relationships are characterized by verbal and mental abuse, belittling, complaining, and even physical abuse. Narcissists believe that they can’t do anything wrong, so any problems with the relationship, and even problems that arise in everyday life, are the other party’s fault. If a mistake is made, the partner is somehow to blame.

Narcissists’ need for attention and admiration leads them to constantly seek out those who will bolster their inflated sense of self-worth. This results in a series of short relationships and a long stream of discarded partners. If the narcissist is married, there is a high probability that he will not be faithful. Naturally, if the infidelity is discovered, the partner will be to blame for not being pretty enough, loving enough, etc.

Victims of a narcissistic abuser often display similar characteristics. The most common is a poor sense of self-esteem, often accompanied by an inability to make decisions for themselves. They spend years telling them they’re not good enough, they’re not smart enough, they’re not good enough. Over time they come to internalize these negative statements. They doubt their own abilities. This makes them more dependent on the narcissistic abuser, creating a cycle of codependency.

This is one of the most concerning aspects of narcissistic abuse in terms of parental care. When children are constantly put down, they grow up believing that they are not capable. When they are finally out of their narcissistic parent’s control, they lack the coping skills necessary to survive on their own. Doubting their own decision-making abilities and paralyzed by low self-esteem, they gravitate toward someone who will accept them despite their self-perceived flaws and make decisions for them. In short, they enter into relationships with narcissistic abusers. They leave their parents only to end up with someone exactly like the same people who abused them in the first place.

Those who have suffered at the hands of a narcissist may display a number of emotional and physical symptoms that can be difficult to attribute to the relationship, as they are a result of the stress they face on a daily basis. These include confusion, dissociation, poor eating and sleeping habits, and even signs of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

It is especially difficult for those in a relationship with a narcissist to get help, as they have become conditioned to seek out their abuser for most, if not all, decision-making activities. Their low sense of self-worth makes it easy for them to ignore the idea that they deserve better. Obviously, in their minds, no one else would have them. They must be happy with the relationship they have, even though they are unhappy. This is a theme that the abuser will also reinforce.

While difficult, it is possible to escape the cycle of narcissistic abuse. The first step must be to accept that no one deserves the constant humiliation and demands of the narcissist. As self-image is restored to a healthy level, it becomes easier to make decisions without input from the abuser. Naturally, this is an extremely difficult process that may require the help of outsiders, including professionals. Unfortunately, it is common for narcissistic abusers to restrict their partners’ access to others, especially those who express opinions that run counter to their grandiose sense of self.

Children – The building blocks of each nation

I saw him lying half awake under a push cart. His tender and fragile face told me that something must be keeping him up at night, something must have bothered him at such an early age when other children his age don’t have to carry the weight of the world. I was going to have a series of sleepless nights where the image of that boy would haunt me. Here I lay in a neatly made bed, my hunger satisfied with home cooked food and a hum of air conditioning, thinking of that boy. He asked me how many children like this there are in my town and in the entire nation. The image of him-scantily clad with his body left at the mercy of blood-sucking insects-contrasted with the eternal bliss in which he lived was more disturbing. I was trying hard not to think about the boy; Fortunately, office duties allowed me to be easy on myself for a while.

I could not erase the image of the child from my thoughts for days in a row. Every time I came across children of the same age I thought of him. For me it represented the poverty of society and the indifference towards the future generation. We are so lost in the maddening crowd and so caught up in the race of life to stand out, pause and reflect.

When we are deeply involved in the thoughts of succession in the workplace and economic or social development, we leave it to governments to take care of other things and we don’t even think for a minute about who would address the core problems of poverty, lack of services basic civic. and even basic education for children? These incidents made me look further and think how one could take responsibility for these problems and work on them instead of worrying seeing children seen on the streets begging or being flogged accused of stealing. They are deprived of their childhood; their dreams crushed under child labor and exploitation as sex workers. Basic education and a healthy life are their fundamental rights, but who will fight for their cause?

Do you know that there are *an estimated 158 million children aged 5-14 doing child labor in India, one in every six children in the world is child labour? Millions of children are involved in dangerous situations or conditions, such as working in mines, working with chemicals and pesticides in agriculture, or working with dangerous machinery. They are everywhere but invisible, working as domestic servants in homes, plowing behind shop walls, on plantations hidden from public view.

* Nearly 13 percent of all children in South Asia are involved in child labour, equivalent to around 44 million. Of these children, 29 million live in India, where the child labor rate is 12 per cent. Within India itself, there are wide discrepancies between states in the incidence of child labour, ranging from 32 per cent in Gujarat to 3 per cent in Goa and Kerala.

If these children are the future, who will turn them into strong pillars that support the very existence of our nation?

With these lingering thoughts, my friends and I sit down to share our concern over some Chai cookies. I realized that even they shared similar concerns and ideas on the same topic. Many of the like-minded friends volunteered to help for this cause and wanted to spend time and effort to make a difference in the lives of these underprivileged children. But that was not all. This was a temporary fix. What happens when we have transformed our lives growing professionally and personally with a change from Chai cookies to green tea and cookies as a sophisticated social being? What would happen when this passion and concern is simply extinguished like every other interest in our life due to job and personal qualifications?

This is a question that each and every citizen of this country or any nation facing similar development problems must address in order to create a harmonious and equitable society and develop a sustainable solution for the future.

Numerous NGOs are emerging that work for the development of this disadvantaged sector of society with the support of international agencies to mainly provide education and other fundamental rights. For example, Paatshala, an NGO that involves young people in building a better tomorrow. A well-designed model for public-private partnership (PPP) would do wonders for the growth of any developing nation. Perhaps the first step in taking responsibility is to collaborate with such NGOs to create a better social and economic environment and a school of thought for the younger generation to flourish and grow.

Real Estate

REO Avenue Bulk Monopoly

Do you remember playing Monopoly and saving up to buy the fourth house so you can build a hotel to double your rent? What if you had the opportunity in real life to buy ten properties at once and start collecting rent on all of them? A large number of bank-owned properties are coming to market, giving savvy investors the opportunity to make this type of wholesale purchase (also known as wholesale REO). Last year, banks sold millions of properties as REOs in bulk. This trend will continue throughout 2011 as a record number of properties continue to be foreclosed on and the cost of entry remains low.

How low? You can get in the game for as little as $50,000 for a small portfolio of bulk cash flow REO properties or as little as $100,000 for ten or more properties ready to become cash flow wealth building engines. These homes are not in the high-rent Park Places of the world, but in working-class Baltic Avenue-type neighborhoods, giving investors the ability to buy ten homes for the price of one or two.

The first premise of the bulk REO business model capitalizes on the large underserved market of working-class people who earn enough to cover rent, but can’t qualify or save enough to buy a home (see “Why Good People Can’t get loans”). Working class people are willing to buy houses and are willing to do repairs, at the right price. That price is equivalent to rent. It makes sense. Let’s say the median rent in an area is $450. Offer a working person a seller-financed home for $450 or less per month and they’ll take the deal. And they will make the payments because they already have a history of rent payments. These loans are designed for success, not doomed to failure.

The second premise of the massive REO business model is that it provides a healthy cash flow with interest rates around 9.5% and an average term of 15 years.

Buying REOs in bulk gives investors the opportunity to put these portfolio building strategies into practice. An active investor will purchase more than 10 homes and then resell them to owner-occupants with seller financing (also called land contracts, deed contracts, or installment contracts). The investor’s name remains on the deed for the term of the contract while the owner-occupant makes monthly payments. The owner-occupant also bears full responsibility for property taxes, repairs, and maintenance. At the end of the term (15 to 20 years) the deed is transferred to the owner-occupant. Meanwhile, the investor gets a significant return on the initial investment.

For example:

Wholesale purchase price $12,000 (one house)

Sale price $37,000

Initial payment $1,000

Price financed $36,000 (15 years, 9.5% interest)

Amortized over 15 years $67,500

Less purchase price -12,000

Return on Investment $55,500

Passive investors who want access to the big returns, but don’t want to set up a massive REO business to sell homes to individuals, can buy a piece of the business. They buy the land contracts and underlying properties from active investors who have initiated seller financing and are looking for cash. These contracts are sold at a discount, offering even more advantages to the passive investor. For example, a 15-year 9.5% interest contract with a face value of $36,000, earning $375 per month, can be had for $26,500. Over its term, the contract will earn $67,500; that’s a 40% return on investment.

buyer beware

The bulk REO market is an exciting and fast-paced business, but as with any potentially high-return investment, there are plenty of charlatans. The internet is full of websites that claim to sell bulk REO listings (also known as bulk REO tapes); however, some of these listings are fraudulent and others contain truly unsaleable properties: burned-out structures, vacant lots, and uninhabitable mobile homes. To navigate this challenging market, trusted mentorship from a reputable listing broker is imperative. Do your due diligence. Ask for references. A reputable company will be happy to provide more than five non-relative references! Find out about after-sales support and get it in writing. Ask for the rates. Some companies hide their fees, others offer full disclosure, but all companies charge fees. Finally, take the plunge. The market for severely undervalued homes will dry up. Will you be the person with an income-generating portfolio to see you through your golden years? Or will you be the person who says, “If only…”

Why Good People Can’t Get Loans

1. Banks do not make loans for less than $60,000. The value of most bank-owned homes is $50,000 or less. Without private financing, these houses will remain vacant.

2. Many low-income families struggle to maintain a good credit score. Banks don’t like this. The savvy private investor knows that credit scores do not predict a person’s ability to pay a mortgage. The monthly payment is the predictor: loans are repaid at the correct price.

Sports

Antwaan Randle El played college basketball, baseball, and soccer for the Indiana University Hoosiers

Antwaan Randle El is a unique football player in that, despite being an exceptional quarterback at Indiana University, he went on to be a highly effective NFL player at wide receiver. It is rare for an athlete to be talented enough to play multiple positions at such a high level. Being able to excel in multiple positions on the soccer field is indicative of an athlete who is capable of excelling in multiple sports.

A little known fact about Randle El is that in addition to his impact on the football field, he found time to contribute to other athletic programs while studying at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. While in college, the high-profile athlete also played on the basketball team for one season under legendary head coach Bobby Knight (1998-1999 season) and even played college baseball in the 2000 season.

Randle El was born in August 1979 and demonstrated his impressive athletic ability at a very young age. Growing up in a predominantly African-American (80%) area of Chicago’s South Side, Randle El was a standout sports star of three for Thornton Township High School in Harvey, Illinois, despite his relatively small size topping out at 5′ 10″ and 190 pounds. While at Thornton Township, the future professional football player dominated his opponents on the gridiron, the field and the baseball diamond. The eventual star quarterback for the Indiana Hoosiers once set a record state in Illinois high school by scoring 69 points in a basketball game and was also drafted by the Chicago Cubs out of high school.

As a football player for the Indiana University Hoosiers, Randle El was considered one of the best offensive players in the tough Big Ten Conference. Despite being undersized for a Division I quarterback in the Big Ten, Randle El masterfully combined passing and running efficiency to help make Indiana one of the best offensive squads in the country. While quarterbacks with the ability to run the ball have historically been present in the game of college football, few have combined the running and passing aspects of the position like Randle El, who would become the first player in the history of the college football in rushing for 40 touchdowns and shooting for 40 touchdowns.

While in Bloomington, Indiana, the star player broke numerous NCAA and team records while en route to being named a first-team All-American quarterback and Big Ten Player of the Year following his senior season. During his four full years as a quarterback at Indiana University, Antwaan Randle El did what no other player had ever done by racking up 2,500 yards of offense four straight years.

Since leaving college in 2002, Randle El has been a valuable player for both the Pittsburgh Steelers (where he won a Super Bowl) and the Washington Redskins. To utilize his athleticism in addition to normal receiving duties, Antwaan is often called upon to return kicks and participate in trick plays where he can display his passing skills from the wide receiver position.
