The power of praising people

One of the keys to success is having successful relationships. We are not islands and we do not reach the top alone. And one of the key ways to be successful in our relationships is to be people who “give life” to others. To each person we meet, we give life or take life. You know what I want to say. There are people who encourage you and when you finish being with them you feel edified. Then there are others you feel knocked down about. Successful people are people who have mastered the art of building others.

One of the ways we build people up is to praise them. There is power in praising people! Something starts to happen in them, in you and in your relationship when you praise someone. Do you remember a time when someone said something to you about yourself in the form of praise? It was great, wasn’t it? You probably liked that person more after he complimented you, right?

Now, I’m not talking about praising people for praising people’s sake. I’m talking about honestly looking for and praising the positive character traits and action of those around you. Don’t lie to people. If they have done something wrong, correct them, but when they do something right, praise them!

With that said, here are benefits and ways to start praising people.

Profits

Their relationship grows. Life is about relationships. Family relationships, friends and co-workers. When we start praising people for their positive aspects, our relationships grow. It puts them, and us, on the fast track.
Your leadership and influence grow. Who is going to have greater leadership capacity and influence in the lives of his followers, the one who tears down or the one who builds up?

Stronger relationships and loyalty. When the person is appreciated and praised, he becomes fiercely loyal, because he knows that you care for him, love him and appreciate him. This will lead you to success.

Happier, more fulfilled people. I truly believe that it is our job to edify others and that they need it. It is a good thing, in itself, to invest in the lives of others by praising and encouraging them. Even if we never receive anything in return, it is the right thing to do to build other people up. Someone else will always come to take them down; the successful person will instill in them the power of praise!

Some ways to praise

Character traits. Do you know someone who is happy? Hard work? Honest? Then let them know how much you appreciate that about them. You can do it with a word or a card, or a phone call. Say something like this: “You know, Tom, I think it’s great that you’re so hard-working. It seems like you’re always the first to arrive and the last to leave. You really set a good example and I want to let you know how much I appreciate it.” Easy!

Action.

Same idea as above. “Sue, I don’t know if anyone else has told you this, but your work on the Johnson account was excellent. You have a wonderful ability to communicate the vision of the project and that helps all of us in our roles and tasks. Thank you for that. It’s much appreciated.”

Other ways you can show praise and appreciation is with a card, a gift, or time off from work.

Make it your goal to praise at least five people a day. If you can, praise ten people a day. Or maybe you can try to praise everyone you come into contact with. It will take work but it is possible. It just takes discipline and a little work.

However, any way you look at it, there is power in praising people. First for them, then for you!

Home Kitchen

kitchen design ideas for small kitchens

The need for small kitchen designs does not necessarily mean that your small kitchen has to be a disappointment. These days everything is getting smaller: phones, home video drives, MP3 players. It doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Look at the smallest space available to you as an opportunity to flex your creative muscles. In small kitchens, creativity is definitely needed to make the most of the available space, but at the same time it can be more convenient and make you spend less time in the kitchen and more in the parts of the house where, perhaps, you would prefer to be. To make your kitchen really stand out, here are six of the best ideas for maximizing space and efficiency:

Storage space. If you have less room to move around, you need to make sure you make the most of the kitchen’s capacity to store appliances, pots, pans, cutlery, and other items that belong there. Nothing is as frustrating as limited space for movement and storage. So it’s important, no matter what final layout you choose, to include enough storage space for items that aren’t in use. To help with this feature, you may want to place an island in the center of the kitchen that is capable of both storage and use. Whether it’s a place to chop onions, prepare meals for the oven, or even a place to grill, the island can combine functionality leaving you with less space requirements.

Galley upstairs. Galley kitchen design is also a great tool in your toolbox of small kitchen design ideas. Aligning cabinets and appliances in the manner of hallways can give you the ability to get a lot done in a limited space and thus save time. This style highlights a key feature that most small kitchen owners soon master, and that is the “two birds with one stone” concept. If you can do more than one task in a given place, make sure you do it.

Compact appliances. Remember a little later at the top of this article when it was mentioned that being smaller doesn’t have to mean you’re smaller? Well, home appliances are one of the best areas where this compact line of thinking has taken hold. Today’s manufacturers try to help you save space, because everyone knows that a cooking hobbyist likes convenience as well as functionality.

Small tables, folding tables and stools. The concept of combining functions can be extended to the dining area of your kitchen. By combining the two, you can give yourself the opportunity to expand. Drop-top tables, end tables, and stools can turn your kitchen from a food lab to a family hub.

Power Wheels Ford Mustang – It’s Crossover Time

What better way to hit the streets than to have your little driver hop in this sleek Power Wheels Ford Mustang? Ok, maybe not the streets, but certainly the neighborhood sidewalks and all those cool stops in your backyard, like the swing set. You just have to take your hat off to Mattel and Fisher Price when they debuted this ride for toddlers. Styling and attention to detail have made the Power Wheels Ford Mustang one of the most sought after models in the Fisher Price ride-on toy arsenal.

So let’s take a look at what separates this muscle car kid from the rest of the pack. At first glance, it’s the popular look of the Mustang GT that catches the eye. From the front “pony” grille to the rear-mounted spoiler and bright chrome mag wheels, this Power Wheels Ford Mustang is the spitting image of its full-size counterpart. But it just doesn’t stop there.

Inside the vehicle, your toddlers will beam with delight as they turn the pretend key and hear realistic engine sounds. And the fun doesn’t end there! Dash indicators light up and when the simulated radio plays, you have equalizer bars flashing along with it. But one of the best features for those long trips is that it even has cup holders inside so driver and passenger never go thirsty.

Like most of the toddler rides in the Fisher Price line, the Mustang has 2 speeds. The bottom end tops out at just over 2 mph and is the factory default setting. Once your novice drivers have passed the required training from mom and dad, you can unleash the full power of the beast by simply removing a set screw on the shifter and watch them tear it up at a full 5 mph.

Another nice feature of the Power Wheels Ford Mustang is that it has a battery charge indicator that alerts you when you really need to recharge the 12v battery or in other words when it’s time to refuel! And if your toddler experiences a sudden growth spurt, the vehicle is also equipped with adjustable seats to always keep them comfortable.

Add in the standard safety features of patented Power Lock brakes and bumper-to-bumper warranty and this vehicle becomes an all-around winner. Oh, and one last thing, the Power Wheels Ford Mustang isn’t just for the kids! You also have a brightly colored Barbie Edition for the girls!

Relax and rejuvenate in a salt cave

A salt cave is one of the many therapies used by spas. Its use is said to promote healing due to the natural properties of salt. These rooms can not only help relieve allergies and asthma symptoms, they can also help you relax, reduce stress, and feel better both mentally and physically. They have been around for over 100 years and are popular in Eastern Europe. However, they have been gaining momentum in the United States in recent years in areas like New York, Orlando, Chicago, and Los Angeles, to name a few.

What makes it such a good therapy?

The key to this helpful therapy is additional exposure to the minerals found in the element, such as iodine, potassium, and bromide, things we don’t get enough of in our everyday lives. These minerals have a natural calming effect on the brain. Also, because salt is antibacterial and antifungal, the air in these rooms is much cleaner than normal air. As you relax and breathe in the clean air, your breath will slow and deepen as your airways open. Experts say that after an hour or so in one of these rooms, you’ll naturally feel less stressed, energized and healthy.

There are some devices that can be used to control the concentration of the element so that certain conditions can be treated more effectively. For example, if you are being treated for a specific breathing problem, the concentration may be set to a higher level. The element helps this type of problem by pushing water into your airways, which makes you thinner and helps your body naturally remove mucus. In even higher concentrations, the therapy has been shown to help with skin problems such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis. However, be sure to consult your doctor before undergoing any type of alternative therapy for a specific medical condition.

How does it look?

A salt cave is designed to give you a different relaxation experience. Most of the rooms have a thick layer of salt on the floor. The walls and ceilings have the element incorporated in different ways, with some sliding down the walls or hanging from the ceiling, like stalactites. There are usually chairs or loungers to sit back, relax and enjoy the clean air. The room smells like a beach, and you will probably notice it on your lips. Normally pure and natural salt is used. Some places may use the rocky type, depending on the location.

You may be required to wear some shoe covers to protect your shoes and the minerals. You can choose to wear the provided robe and booties. Most companies offer rooms for multiple clients at once, but some also offer private rooms and sessions.

It may be worth visiting a salt cave if you want a different kind of natural relaxation therapy that can also help with some common skin or respiratory conditions.

Guilty, Your Honor – The Burden of Guilt After a Suicide

Guilty, Your Honor, I whisper.

Have you ever done something so horrible that you’d rather hide in a dark closet for the rest of your life than have anyone find out you did it? Have you ever done something so bad that even remembering what you did makes you hyperventilate and shake?

I have. I have made too many mistakes in my life. I should have done better.

Sometimes I imagine myself standing before a judge wearing a long black robe, my head bowed in shame. I cling tightly to a large bulky sack. The judge in the long black robe says, “Raise your head to answer me. Who are you?” I reply quietly. “I am a mother, wife and teacher.” “Were you a good mother?” the judge asks. I realize that her eyes are looking impatiently at mine. “No, Your Honor,” I reply, shaking my head sadly. “I was not a good mother.”

The judge says nothing, so I continue.

“I did my best, but I made too many mistakes. I brought them to show you. They’re all in this bag,” I explain, forcing myself to push the bag closer to him so he can get a better look. The judge looks at my bag and mutters to himself, “Looks like this woman has a ton of bricks in here.” Then he sighs and says, “Hmmmm-how do you propose?” “Guilty, Your Honor,” he whispered. “Guilty.”

However, the reality is that I carried this huge bag of guilt from the moment the officer told me that my teenage daughter, Arlyn, took her own life. I found the biggest bag I could and opened it. Then, I threw bricks of guilt at him, one by one.

In the sack I put bricks for every memory I had of the times I had raised my voice to my children. I put more bricks on the occasions when I punished them for making childish mistakes.

If only I had been more patient, –

In the bag, I put bricks for every time I was too busy correcting papers, doing laundry, or talking on the phone to give my children, the most precious people in my life, my full attention.

If only I had kept my priorities in order, –

In this sack I also added bricks for the memories of many times when I had not known how to listen to my children with my heart.

If only I had been wise, –

After Arlyn’s death, I walked around carrying my sack of guilt; it was a painful reminder that some of my actions may have contributed to the depression that led to her death. I didn’t pull the trigger on that hot August day, but I felt like I did. For me, Arlyn’s suicide provided tangible evidence that she had failed in the most important mission of my life: being a mother. I deserved to spend the rest of my life dragging a heavy sack of bricks. This was almost a complete change from the attitude he had before Arlyn’s death. Before August 7, 1996, I had confidence in myself; I had achieved the goals I set for myself, so I thought I knew it all. If there had been a Miss Arrogance pageant, she would have won the crown.

But I fell to my knees when Arlyn died, and I would never stand again. Any crown on my head was shattered. After Arlyn’s death, the world no longer made sense. I doubted everything I had learned, my beliefs and my values. Above all, I saw myself as a great failure in life. So here I was, trying to muddle through each day, attached to this huge, heavy bag of guilt that I couldn’t or wouldn’t let go of.

Ughhh! My sack of bricks was so heavy – the bricks that represented all the mistakes in my life were so heavy that I would need the help of a bulldozer to move it, if nothing else. Most of the bricks in the sack had to do with Arlyn: sins of commission and sins of omission. Arlyn had killed herself and the guilt she felt was consuming me. Every day after I woke up, she would stand at the foot of the huge, ugly load and look at it. As much as I hated him, I felt connected to him. Sometimes he would reach out and stroke the bag up and down with one hand, never letting go with the other. He was mine.

Day after day, I stayed there, clinging to my sack full of bricks of guilt. Friends passed by and shook their heads at me. “Put aside your fault, Karyl. It’s not your fault!” they said, often shaking their heads in disgust. “You’re wasting your life,” others would say. “Arlyn wouldn’t want you carrying that sack around forever.” I unplugged them. What Arlyn wanted or didn’t want didn’t matter. She wasn’t here to talk.

Sometimes I tried to explain how much I needed to hold on to the blame, but they argued louder. So, I closed my ears and walked away. They couldn’t understand. So it was. Life went on for those around me, and I was alone. Except I had my bag of guilt to keep me company.

But then one day, for no particular reason, I reached into the sack and pulled out one of the bricks. It was dated July 5, 1996. It read: I went to Germany, so I wasn’t here to take care of Arlyn for the last month of her life.

I’ve thought about it. If she had been here, would she have noticed that something was wrong with Arlyn? It is possible that she had. At the same time, it is more likely that she would not have noticed anything.

Arlyn was a master of deception, it seemed; She had been hiding her pain for years. So what makes me believe that she would have suddenly changed and become transparent?

My tears started to fall then. I felt hot tears running down my cheeks. They were for Arlyn: Arlyn, my sweet girl who was trapped in her own dark world by something beyond her ability to comprehend.

It hurts a lot to remember. so so bad

But then the tears began to fall faster and felt even hotter against my face. These tears were different; them for me

I too was trapped in my own dark and lonely world, carrying this heavy load of guilt. I too was caught up in something too complex to understand.

Was it really worth the extra weight of the brick dated July 5, 1996, just because I went to Germany? Was I a terrible mother because I took a vacation that I had dreamed of for years?

In my heart, I knew I hadn’t neglected Arlyn by going on vacation. In my heart, I knew I didn’t need that extra brick that added weight to the overloaded bag.

But could he bear to throw it away? Would the world collapse if I took it out of the sack? I thought for a while as I ran my hands over the brick. He felt rough and hard and cold. Yes, I needed it. No, I did not do it. Yes, I needed it. No, I did not do it. Yes, I needed it. No, I did not do it.

Finally, I placed the brick on the ground next to me and waited. I didn’t hear loud cracks of thunder; the ground below me did not shake. I looked at the sack I had been carrying. It really didn’t look any different. I tried to push it; he didn’t feel any lighter, but he knew he was. I had lightened the load just a little. I took a step forward and felt a gentle breeze brush my cheek. A butterfly passed by.

Quote of the day:

Guilt is the source of pain; It is the field, the avenging field, that follows us behind with whips and goads. ~ Nicholas Rowe

Test Drive Unlimited Oahu vs. Real Life Oahu

The accuracy of topographical features in the unlimited test drive is second to none. It is much better and more detailed than its closest equivalent: Google Earth. When you compare a real map of Oahu to the unlimited test drive, you’ll see it right away. Then when you compare it to its real life counterpart you will be very impressed at how close it is.

If you’ve ever seen Lost, you’ll recognize many of the terrain features and mountain range areas. Lost was filmed on the north shore of Oahu. In Test Drive Unlimited you can see these mountain ranges along the huge straight road that runs down the north side of the island. Many of the beaches look very familiar and similar to those in Lost as well. The biggest difference is that the long straight road on Test Drive is a dusty gravel road in real life.

Apparently, all the buildings in the city of Oahu are exactly how they are in real life. All buildings in downtown Honolulu are on Test Drive Unlimited. The biggest difference is that many of them at TDU lack proper company advertisements and logos, which is understandable and not really a problem. Imagine trying to obtain the rights and permits of all businesses and companies based in the city of Honolulu. It would take years, maybe years and it’s just not worth the effort.

As you zoom in and cruise around Oahu, you never get a chance to appreciate the accuracy. There are photos on the internet that compare the TDU scenery to the real Oahu. It really is identical. The biggest difference is that it can be said to be a game, but one with beautifully rendered graphics.

The most accurate, yet challenging, rendering piece goes to the Honolulu International Airport. You can see the runways, terminals, and aircraft hangars, all there just as it should be. Right outside the airport is the race track, and from the videos I’ve seen, that’s probably one of the most realistic representations of any race track. And all things considered, perhaps the most accurate race track ever seen in a racing game?… I’d defiantly say it’s a strong contender.

Disjointed America (commentary and personal thoughts)

The Government of the United States under Obamaism, and preceding Hillary Clinton, who will surely continue to be if she is to govern the country in the near future, will boil us alive, little by little, without us noticing. Like a frog in a teapot, she turning up the heat little by little, without realizing it, and then never realizing it, once she was dead. This awareness of what is happening in the White House falls short of providing direct answers to simple questions. This I think can be seen by the weakening of our country, as if to reinforce our need for globalism. That being the main reason why both Obama and Hillary have tried to threaten England for its desire to be a sovereign nation, but connected to a lesser extent, like with NATO, etc. This is in the same vein as Obama’s thinking. The next step is for us to join the World Court and be subject to its jurisdiction. These are your growing homicidal and suicidal horrors for all of America, so I believe as a nation. A madness of immolation, or self-destruction, as Rome did from the inside out. Soon we will have a debt of 21 trillion, another disjointed bone for the United States; much like seizing and squeezing gun control to have a carnival of bloody parties, in safe zones, while Islamic terrorism from coast to coast is unleashed, not crushed by allowing open borders. Hence it becomes a dismembered sacrifice for the Islamic triumph. I see in many cases that Muslim communities want to be part of the United States, but not to be part of the United States. Right or wrong, rights without responsibilities give rise to wild error, as an American citizen it is everyone’s duty to uphold the golden rule: do to others what you would like them to do to you. So simple that most people have forgotten the catchphrase. If it were up to me, we would have a happy medium here, not two representatives for president so different from their own parties. But here we have it, so you have to look at what’s at stake, not what you can get out of it. In Peru, unfortunately, for a dollar, you can buy a vote, it’s not much different in the United States today.

One last word on this, and not to play the fear card, but US politicians are already studying and alerting and waiting for the dismantled nuclear Islamic terrorist evil mind (you already know the source); It is not a question of if, but where and when it will take place, we are now seeing the prelude to the Third World War, and fortunately it has not taken place yet. The IsIs, the entire population of this Islamic Order is a bloodthirsty priesthood that advances daily in the ritual of those distant days of the warriors of Mohammed; undermined and bestialized mentality. It must be said, however, that most Muslims will misunderstand and question the New Testament statement that ‘God is love’. Therefore, addressing God as a God of love or ‘Father’ would be far from Muslim thought. What it would be like to address Jesus Christ as the Son of God. They don’t fear him because they don’t believe he will come back. Therefore, by doing so, they deny their need for Christ. On the other hand, there is no atonement for sin, and no propitiatory basis for the forgiveness of the sins of Muslims. Contrary to Christianity. As for Muslims, forgiveness is based on both personal merit and Allah’s choice of mercy. Thus, never knowing of their fate, and as the Qur’an stipulates, “God is Almighty, Vengeful!” They think that Christians teach a falsehood about Jesus and Mary, just as much as I think they teach a falsehood about Muhammad and Allah. Actually, the Koran teaches them to deny. They believe that the 3rd Testament of the word of God is the Koran that replaces the previous two. Although this is contradictory, because although they may have some of the same prophets, they have a completely different God. What the Isis have forgotten is that the Qur’an states that evil deeds will be weighed in a scale on Judgment Day. This should scare you, but obviously it doesn’t. So at the end of the road they seek balance.

And in case we forgot, a democracy is for the people by the people, not for a president and his associates, by a president.

Anyway, this is just a simple comment on some everyday thoughts, do not take it seriously, we all need to have an open mind, that is the best of nature in the human being.

What causes clogged pores on the face?

When the pores on your face get clogged, there can be more than one reason. As a result, there will almost always be an acne breakout. However, the mechanics behind your acne will be the result of a particular substance known as sebum in the first place.

It is waxy and oily in nature and is made up of the body’s lipids (fats). Sebum is created in the sebaceous gland, which in turn is an integral part of the pilosebaceous unit. This unit houses not only the sebaceous glans, but also contains the hair and hair follicle. Your entire body (except for the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet) is covered in tiny hairs, the densest area, of course, being your scalp. The reason we have these tiny hair follicle factories all over our bodies is because sebum is crucial for moisturizing not only the hair but also the skin.

However, when too much sebum is created, it can, for one reason or another, get stuck in the pores, creating the right (or wrong, depending on how you look at it) environment for infection and inflammation, resulting in acne.

Teenagers are more victims of acne, as their bodies produce much more sebum from enlarged sebaceous glands. This is why the spots are more associated with youth.

Most of the time blemishes and acne will be a come and go affair, just a few pimples or whiteheads will have a short-lived ugly appearance, but the unlucky people will suffer from much more virulent forms of acne, ance conglobata or acne. vulgaris to name two.

Causes of clogged pores on the face?

The areas of your face that most often suffer are the chin, cheekbones and forehead.

A typical reason why a person might be suffering from clogged pores on the face is irregular or improper cleansing. You should wash your face once in the morning and once before going to bed. Throughout the day, oily skin is a magnet for dust, dirt, and grime. The material literally sticks to it from outside the atmosphere. If you wash your face twice a day, you could be helping to avoid blemishes.

One word of warning though: don’t over-wash, your skin will fight back if all the oil has been removed, it will create even more to compensate.

Cheap name-brand makeup is another culprit, full of chemicals that can cling to your skin and sink into your pores, clogging them and creating the right conditions for blemishes. Switch to water-based makeup whenever possible. Never go to bed at night without removing your makeup first.

Using a good quality skin scrub every few days and a good face mask once a week can help remove any buildup of dead skin cells that haven’t shed.

Lastly, before you start using any moisturizer, make sure you have chosen one that suits your skin type. There’s a reason manufacturers have a variety of them. Everyone’s skin is different, and taking the time to figure out which one suits you best could save you trouble in the long run.

Not all dogs benefit from a summer haircut or shave

It would be impossible to count how many times each summer a professional groomer is asked to shave a client’s dog in an attempt to make it fresher. Here in rural Montana, where the summers are scorching, I have received requests to shave just about every breed imaginable. It’s a common misconception that all dogs would automatically be cooler if they had less fur.

The first thing that is important to consider is what type of hair the dog has. All dogs can be basically divided into two groups. First of all we have those who need to get their hair cut on a regular basis, such as poodles, shih tzus, cocker spaniels, lhasa apsos, terriers, etc. Dogs in this group have hair that would continue to grow longer and longer until cut. These breeds can be shaved without any problem. Removing excess fur by shaving it off in hot weather will make it more comfortable and cool, and won’t damage the dog’s coat. However, this is not the case with the second group.

This group of dogs is made up of all other breeds, longhaired or shorthaired, whose hair grows to a single length and then stays at that length. These dogs tend to shed much more than the dogs in the first group. These include Retrievers, Pomeranians, Great Pyranees, Chow Chows, Pugs, German Shepherds, Huskies, and the list goes on and on. Their fur acts as insulation against the elements and should never be shaved. After all, do you remove the insulation from your house in the summer to make it cooler? Absolutely not, and the same goes for these dogs as well.

The coat of dogs in the second group consists of two different types of hair, a soft, fluffy undercoat, and coarser, coarser hairs called guard hairs. These two types of hair are actually designed to tangle together and form a hard coat around the animal to keep its temperature regulated in extreme weather conditions. Without proper brushing and grooming on a regular basis, this often happens, leading the owner to the false conclusion that the coat needs to be shaved to keep the dog feeling fresher. However, shaving the fur of these dogs removes their heat insulation, which actually makes these dogs feel hotter and more uncomfortable. Shaving also makes them more prone to sunburn.

It’s important to understand that if you make the decision to go ahead and shave these types of dogs anyway, their coat will never be the same. Shaving will change the coat forever. The hair not only grows back very slowly, but also grows back much softer and sparser. The coat color will also be different, as the hair will be at least two shades lighter than before.

One of the worst things about shaving a dog with this type of hair is that the dog can develop what we call clipper alopecia. In simple terms, it just means that the hair does not grow back. This is caused by a change in the guard hairs when they are cut. Clipper’s alopecia usually first develops in a patch on the dog’s back, located just in front of the tail. After shaving, only a thin layer of hair will grow back, usually reaching a maximum length of about half an inch. Dogs that develop this condition have coats that appear moth-eaten. This is not an attractive sight!

Ok, so what happens if you have a dog that is glued to the skin and seems to be too hot in this mild weather? Seek the advice of a properly trained hairdresser to determine the best course of action. With the many miracle grooming products on the market, many times these coats can be saved with a couple of intense grooming sessions and some daily grooming effort on the part of the owner. This optimizes the dog’s coat to properly perform its insulation tasks. Occasionally, the coat really can’t be repaired and, in fact, has to be shaved off to start over. Your hairdresser can help you with this decision and give you advice on how to avoid this situation in the future.

It is important to note that if you have a mixed breed dog, it can be difficult to determine which group the dog falls into. Most groomers can assess a dog’s coat after inspecting it to find out which group the dog is in and what course of action to take, the risks involved, etc.

As a former professional groomer, I firmly believe that it is the responsibility of the groomer to fully explain these things to clients who wish to shave their dogs. It is important to share knowledge with clients in order to make the best possible decision for the pet that needs grooming.
