The new Audi RS7 with 560 hp and forged wheels

At the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, Chevrolet introduced its new seventh-generation Corvette and stole the show. But Audi also made its presence known in the automotive world by introducing its newest and most powerful version of the Audi A7 Sportback: the RS7. The new model is the first in the A7 model series to bear the German automaker’s ‘RS’ performance badge and offers incredible performance in a stylish five-door coupe package. Much of the car from the forged wheels also the exterior body work and everything else.

One of the most exciting aspects of the new Audi RS7 is under the hood, where a 4.0 TFSI engine produces an incredible amount of power and torque. The 4.0-liter V-8 engine has two twin-scroll turbochargers and an intercooler located between each of the cylinder banks to reduce any type of turbo lag and produce 1.2 BAR of boost pressure for each cylinder. A host of innovative technologies such as autostart, thermal management, cylinder on demand, direct fuel injection and variable valve timing come standard to improve fuel efficiency and emissions with an impressive estimated 24 US mpg

The new technology used in the 4.0 TFSI engine also helps to produce an overwhelming amount of power. The engine sends out 560 horsepower from 5,700 to 6,700 RPM and 516 lb-ft. of torque at just 1,750 RPM up to 5,500 RPM across all four forged wheels thanks to a Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system that varies power between axles in real time using a crown differential and torque vectoring. Performance is also impressive, with the Audi RS7 accelerating to 62mph in just 3.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 155mph, 173.98mph or 189.52mph, depending on available option packages.

Much of the chassis has been optimized to handle the extra power and performance. Making contact with the road are new 20-inch forged front and rear wheels with sport tires for better grip. A standard air suspension with adjustable shock absorbers lowers overall ride height and improves handling, while standard six-piston calipers clamp onto 360mm front brake discs. As an option, customers can order a sports suspension with steel shock absorbers and dampers, as well as carbon ceramic brakes with 390mm discs that provide consistent braking performance.

The exterior of the Audi RS7 is also considerably more aggressive, as are the chassis and the engine. Wider fenders house the forged wheels and are connected by new side skirts. The front bumper features larger air intakes and a front spoiler, while the rear uses a new diffuser and dual oval exhaust outlets.

The Audi RS7 will likely be available in North America. Audi has not published the price of the new sports car.

my rainbows

I kept seeing rainbows in my life. A new friend sent me a picture of a rainbow that appeared on her wall, due to the glass hanging in her window. Then the next post I saw was an image of Rainbow Stone. I noticed references to rainbows appearing in different articles I was reading.

I think if I keep seeing a word or image repeatedly, I need to pay attention. What did this mean to me? I wrote a Count Candy Corn children’s book and wanted to create a series on Count Candy Corn under color.

This brings me to the present. I have been on a spiritual journey this last year. The blessings of being old enough and not being run by a clock has given me this opportunity. I was raised a Christian and have a strong faith. I have also opened my heart to other cultures and religions. I have joined different groups. I have never seen a more meaningful time in my life where kindness and care needed to return.

This is not to preach but to share my journey. I’m sure I’m not the only one looking at your life and looking for the meaning or impact it can have before your earthly time is over. The best lessons I have had in life are the stories my elders tell me. I had the imagination to soak in and visualize their stories. They became part of my journey. The elders gave me what my parents didn’t have and that was the time.

What does this have to do with rainbows?

Everything from my book, my Christian faith, my respect for the faith and beliefs of other people, the multicolored people that our planet has and the unity of the world. The world is a circle and we are all the same. We, as a human species, have children to love and raise. It hurts us when one of our family members is taken from us. We all need water and food to live. We need to love and be loved and this is from very young to very old.

I am a seeker of knowledge and I share. I have had to learn that sometimes I share too much. I have been told that I am too deep and sometimes I see it as a flaw in me. What is wrong with me? Why do I need to share? Over the years, I have been unloving myself and seeking approval from other people who had their own issues and hang-ups.

The realization, I have learned to forgive from the heart the people who have offended me both physically and mentally. I realized that I had trouble giving my own human failings. This is significant if you don’t forgive yourself and love yourself, how can you love others?

My journey begins anew each day. What will I learn today?
