Aston Martin Rapide – The four-door supercar

Aside from its stunning styling and looks, you might be wondering what all the fuss is about about the Aston Martin Rapide. You could say that it is a competitor to the Porsche Panamera and Maserati Quattroporte, however the Rapide is priced much, much higher than its two rivals with a price tag of over two hundred thousand dollars. The Aston Martin CEO has called the Rapide the world’s first four-door supercar, a pretty big claim considering it’s not as fast as the Porsche Panamera Turbo.

The Rapide shares its six-liter, four hundred and seventy-horsepower V12 engine and six-speed automatic gearbox with the DB9, and can achieve a 0-60 time of around five seconds. The Rapide’s weight distribution, low center of gravity, and immensely rigid chassis combine to form a true four-door sports car.

In reality, the Rapide is more of a Grand Tourer to drive than a thoroughbred sports car, and the steering feels correspondingly light. However, unlike high-end luxury sedans such as the BMW 7 Series or Mercedes S-Class, there are none of the meandering side-to-side movements you may experience when cornering. On Rapide, the suspension can be tightened even more for a very firm ride. Activate sport mode and you can increase throttle response and the six-speed transmission keeps revs even higher, making acceleration sharper.

The Rapide is the kind of car you can drive in all day, as long as you are in one of the front seats. Despite being a four-door, the rear seats are quite comfortable, although to be fair, they can accommodate an adult passenger in relative comfort. The interior is drowned in leather and everything inside the interior that looks like metal is metal – no cheap plastic trim to sneak in here. Most of the dash is in common with the Aston Martin DBS and, in addition to the rear passenger space, there is a surprising amount of trunk space, almost on par with an everyday sedan.

It is difficult to know exactly where the Aston Martin will fit in the market. Considerably more expensive than its main rivals, but without the performance gain to match the higher price, the Rapide is more likely to rely on exclusivity as its main draw for potential buyers: a limited production of around just three thousand means that prices and convenience will remain high for years to come.

How to Write a Great Resume Summary with Examples

A resume summary is a concise summary of who you are and the value you can bring to an organization. Today (2018), all strong resumes are expected to have resume summaries instead of the old-fashioned “Target.” The resume summary is essentially your elevator pitch, which is a very short “commercial” of who you are and how you can benefit an organization.

What to include

First, be sure to include a resume summary immediately after your contact information. Excluding a résumé or just listing a few bullet points about your qualifications (or worse, listing an objective) will almost guarantee that your resume will get approved, unless you personally know the hiring manager. The resume summary is essentially a condensed version of the “Question about yourself.” When writing a summary, you should be sure to include relevant and specific information that shows who you are without being too generic. A great summary will include who you are, what you have done, what value you bring, and what your strengths are. Also, you should always include your resume title above the resume summary to make it clear who you are (i.e. sales professional, IT executive, project manager, etc.)

Keep it short

You may have been in an industry for more than 20 years and have done enough to fill more than 100 pages of text; however, your summary should not be longer than five or six sentences. TheLadders (2017) conducted a study and showed that the average recruiter spends 6 seconds going through a resume, so your resume summary needs to be concise and compelling. You need to quickly grab the attention of hiring managers and highlight your best selling points or unique value proposition. Avoid being redundant and including too many generic sentences that can be applied to anyone.

Three great resume summary examples:

Example No. 1: global vice president

Results-oriented global executive with a proven track record of successfully building and leading communications businesses in North America, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Latin America. Experience in corporate trust and reputation, operational leadership, business development, strategic planning and operations optimization to significantly increase revenue and profitability. Prestigious commentator on corporate trust, crisis and corporate reputation issues for CNN, Bloomberg, CNBC, BBC and Channel News Asia, as well as providing information for print, commercial and other broadcast media on five continents. Presenter at the United Nations Global Compact Leaders Conference, the Clinton Global Initiative, the World Economic Forum Anti-Corruption Conference, the FSG Shared Value Conference, and countless industry and customer events.

Example No. # 2: Senior Sales Executive

Award-winning sales executive with vast experience in global sales / marketing and financial management. Experience in finding and retaining new business as a deal leader and providing the framework to complete KYC due diligence for specialized clients. Proven history of generating over $ 100 million in profit and reserves. Successful customer relationship manager who understands customer needs, manages expectations, builds lasting relationships, instills trust, and ensures delivery of integrated solutions. Very skilled working in the FinTech industry.

Example No. 3: technical director

Highly talented IT executive with a proven track record of designing, building and implementing multi-million dollar strategic, tactical and operational IT solutions that contribute significantly to organizational performance. Oversaw the construction of more than 450 retail stores from a technology perspective including hardware, software, LAN / WAN and telephony, as well as managing more than 350 project lifecycles from inception to launch. Experience in leading teams effectively, instilling passion and developing people to achieve excellence. Great ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.

All three examples clearly exemplify who the candidate is, what the candidate has done, what value the candidate brings, and what the candidate’s strengths are in a concise and compelling way without unnecessary nonsense. Fluff is a resume summary that is filled with generic sentences like the following example:

Example No. # 4: generic fluff summary

Energetic and creative professional with cross-functional experience in operations. History of working well with all levels of leadership and developing effective relationships. Great ability to make immediate and valuable contributions to an organization. Flexible and open-minded with an outstanding ability to adapt to any situation. Excellent research, strategic thinking, communication and presentation skills.

Conclution

Think of your resume summary as the only thing a hiring manager will read, because in many cases it can be. Your resume summary is your elevator pitch, and it should include who you are, what you’ve done, what value you bring, and what your strengths are in a concise and compelling way. Remember to include your title above your summary to immediately identify who you are. You can use a generic “Career Summary” or “Qualifications” if you have a very diverse background and it is difficult to define who you are in a single title. Always remember to include a resume summary as candidates without one will surely be approved.

Business

Doing business in various states

During the incorporation process, you may hear terms such as “foreign corporation,” “foreign LLC,” or “qualification,” depending on the type of entity being formed. However, the term “foreigner” does not refer to another country, but to your home state. This means that if your business is incorporated as a corporation or limited liability company in one state, but is operating in another state, the state of operation is considered the “foreign state.”

This is an important characteristic of business compliance. To help you understand this problem, let’s approach the concept of “qualification as a foreign entity” using the following scenario: Jane Doe formed a limited liability company called XYZ LLC in Delaware, but the business is conducted solely in Florida. In this case, XYZ is a domestic LLC in the state of Delaware and possibly a foreign LLC in the state of Florida.

Why is a foreign entity submitting the application?

There are a few situations in which a business owner may be asked to make this type of presentation, including:

  • Maintain a brick or mortar location
  • Employee recruitment
  • Business transactions that require special licenses
  • Deciding to file a fictitious name or “Doing Business As” (DBA) in another state
  • Real estate closing

There are also cases where filing as a foreign entity is likely not required – these include:

  • Telephonic sales
  • An online business that sells products to people in other states.
  • National advertising campaigns
  • Sell through independent contractors

The process

If you meet any of the filing criteria for a foreign entity, or have been told to register as a foreign entity, there is a process for submitting the application.

To qualify your business, it will go through a process similar to that of incorporating or forming an LLC. In most states, the document that is presented is called a Certificate of Authority or Foreign Registration. As with any state application, there are filing fees, which can range from $ 25 to $ 750. In most states, there are additional documents that must accompany the Certificate of Authority or Foreign Registration. The documents consist of a Certificate of Validity and / or a Certified Copy of the Articles of Incorporation or Certificate of Formation from the state of origin. The Certificate of Good Reputation will show that your business is in good standing and that there are no outstanding fees.

A registered agent is required when filing as a foreign entity. Most registered agent companies serve all states, so you can keep the same registered agent service.

Once you have secured all your documents, the Certificate of Authority, Certified Copy and / or Certificate of Good Reputation, and any other supporting documentation, can be sent to the state. Normal processing times vary from one to three weeks.

Additional requirements

As with other LLC or partnership filing requirements, some states have other LLC or foreign corporation requirements. Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, and New York require a business to advertise or publish in a local newspaper that their business is providing services and conducting business in that state. Many states also require foreign companies and LLCs to file an annual report. In some states, you will be required to submit biennial reports. Of course, there will be filing fees. To assist companies with this requirement, many states have online portals for submitting annual reports.

So now that you have a better understanding of “qualification,” be sure to do your due diligence. Check with any state you plan to do business in and research their laws. A good starting point for your investigation will always be the Secretary of State’s office.

Relationship

While discussing room number 911 in the ER, patients lie on the floor unattended

As soon as the officer dove into the bathroom to answer nature’s call, the head nurse got up from her chair by the door and walked directly to the receptionist at the information desk.

“Who is that man?”

“He is a police officer.”

“What makes you say that?”

“I saw his police badge.” She whispers.

Crossing his arms, he says fearfully, “Then I’m done.” The officer is coming out of the bathroom now. The head nurse heads toward him as fear and anxiety gnaw at his heart. Now you are trying to put on an appearance of courtesy. Gnashing his teeth in rage, he says:

“Why didn’t you tell us it was a police officer immediately who entered this room? I personally would have arranged for your wife to receive express service.”

Behaving like a demonstration for a dying dog, he instructs the junior nurses to rush me to the observation room on a stretcher. As soon as I was inside, I counted about five nurses around me. Each of them tried to make me feel comfortable. During all this time, my thoughts were with that old woman who was left stumbling in a swamp of inefficiency and corruption. After I was given a sedative injection, I fell asleep.

Now it’s dawn, I’m still in my bed. I hear a voice that looks like Abdul’s. I wonder:

“What does this man have to do with me after treating me like his pet?” You are asking the nurses about a pretty girl who was admitted to the hospital yesterday.

“Where is that girl who was admitted here yesterday?”

“She is in room 911.”

I hear him scream over his voice.

“You say room 911?”

“Yes, you heard me right!”

“Please get that girl out of that room right away, it’s an evil number.”

“Sir, you cannot come here and dictate what should be done to your wife.” The head nurse admonishes.

“Sorry but …”

“But what?”

“I’m just concerned that he’s in room 911.” Abdul explains.

“What does 911 have to do with you?” The head nurse responds.

“911 translates to September 11, and it was the day those terrorists killed so many innocent people in New York City. My brother was among the dead.”

“So many innocent people were also killed, not just your brother. By the way, if the 911 events had taken place in a poor African country, do you think it would have received this massive press coverage?”

The nurse continues:

“You know what? The reason it attracted such massive press coverage was not because of the number of victims, but because of the fact that the king of the forest had been injured by termites.”

“Don’t you feel sorry for those who lost their lives in such a barbarous attack?” Abdul fights back.

“It was certainly an unfortunate event. But I am also sorry for those poor women and children in Africa and elsewhere who die every day from hunger, malnutrition and AIDS. Imagine what the world would have been like if it had united against AIDS, poverty and hunger as it does now against terrorism. “

“Do not link 911 and the widespread deprivation in Africa caused by Africans themselves.” Abdul says.

“Don’t also try to link 911 and our hospital room numbers.” The head nurse guarantees Abdul.

This crossfire between Abdul and the head nurse paralyzed the ER while all the other nurses stared at them, while the sick and dying lay helplessly on the floor.

Their discussion of 911 became so unpleasant that it made me nervous. I was wondering why Abdul would come to visit me at the hospital only to have him and other nurses argue about my room number. She had always believed that Abdul, who seemed to have been a well-mannered individual, is just as decorous as he is in public.

Now all I know about this man is that he’s been a ruffian, he’s immoral. Despite being a married man, he has seduced many women and abandoned them for new conquests. Am I now your next target?

As I continued to agonize over my situation, tears began to flow freely down my cheeks. How the heck could I have gotten caught up in this dissolute man? I could only blame myself. But how could I resist his friendship when he seemed to care so much about my progress, especially after my dad, who had been a business executive, became so declassified to the point of working as a night watchman? A nurse comes running in, handing me my bill, says:

“Get ready, it’s time to go home.”

“I have no money to pay this lump sum of money.” Said.

“Stop pretending. Pack up, go pay your bill and go.”

“I don’t have any money please.”

Leaning back, he says:

“Do you expect me to believe you? You’re such a pretty young woman that she shouldn’t have a problem paying her bills. If I were half as pretty as you, I wouldn’t be working in a hospital for a pittance.” “While we were arguing, I couldn’t find Abdul.” He may have gone to pay the bills. “I consoled myself. I quickly hurried to the cash register to find him. With a low guttural growl, I asked the lady at the counter.

“Please, where is that tall lanky gentleman wearing a blue t-shirt and sunglasses?”

“You mean the man who was lecturing us about the evils of 911?”

“Exactly!”

“Sorry, he left.”

“Did he say something before he left?”

“Not that I know.”

At this point I knew I was wrong. I was wrong to think that Abdul had come to the hospital to help me pay for my medical expenses. Now it has vanished into thin air, what should I do? I began to remember what Daddy had told me some time ago about men.

“Beware men who make you feel as safe and warm as a cup of cocoa with a melted marshmallow. But then when you get to the bottom of the cup, you find a dead fly and disgust replaces delight.”

I had a firm belief in myself that practically every woman has had experience with a man who comes out strong like Abdul, and he retires just as vehemently! The problem is, as Dad always complained, “Women are adept at ignoring warning signs!
