DUI Lawyers in San Francisco

A San Francisco DUI lawyer can help you with several different aspects of your case if you ever find yourself fighting a charge in the Bay Area.

DUI laws in San Francisco are governed by the general California DUI statutes listed in section 23152, subdivision (a) and 23152, subdivision (b) of the Vehicle Code. Charge (a) is the traditional DUI charge and (b) is what is commonly known as the per se charge, which means you drove with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08% (the legal limit in CA) or greater.

San Francisco is known for being a bit more rigid with these penalties and tougher with sentencing related to DUI offenses, as in California there are minimum sentences and maximum sentences which give judges in San Francisco a great deal of leeway. within each individual case.

DMV Implications

Once arrested for a DUI at the police officer will take your CA driver’s license in accordance with state law. You will be issued a pink piece of paper that will serve as your ‘interim’ driver’s license until the DMV formally suspends the driver’s license. The pink piece of paper is DMV Form DS-367 and it has the 10-day requirement written on it, which means you can challenge DMV’s driver’s license suspension due to DUI simply by scheduling a DMV hearing within of the 10 days.

Texas Hold’em – A Basic Strategy

Texas Hold’em is very easy to learn and, if only for this reason, it attracts crowds of players. Another reason for this popularity is its relatively fast pace. While becoming a master of the game will take months, if not years, being better than most can be possible with even very basic strategy. Naturally, you need to be consistent when applying it. Otherwise, the whole thing won’t work.

This basic Texas Hold’em strategy boils down to playing only the best starting hands, which means folding most of them. Such a style of play is called tight. Beginning tight players do much better on average than most newbies to this game.

The goal of any strategy is to make money. The best way to do this is to maximize your winnings on hands where you have a good chance of winning and minimize your losses on hands where your chances of winning are very limited. In particular, that means folding bad hands.

This strategy suggests the following hands as your best starting hands:

AA, KK, QQ, JJ, 10-10, 9-9, 8-8, AK, AQ, KQ.

In the notation we used above, the “s” denotes that both cards are of the same suit, let’s say they are both spades.

On the flop, it’s critical to assess whether or not you’ve improved your hand. If that’s not the case, fold it. Playing the turn or the river is similar. Did you improve your hand? If you didn’t, feel free to fold it.

Our basic Texas Hold’em strategy can be summarized as follows:

1. If you do NOT have one of the best starting hands – FOLD

2. If you have one of the best starting hands, bet or raise

3. If after the flop you have NOT improved your hand – FOLD

4. If after the flop you have improved your hand, raise

5. If after the turn or river you have NOT improved your hand – FOLD

6. If after the turn or river you have improved your hand, raise

Whether you should bet or raise your starting hand depends on your position in the game. If you are one of the first three players to act after the blinds, it is recommended to be careful and bet only unless your hole cards form a strong pair like AA, KK, or QQ. If you are one of the last three players to act, you can choose to raise, especially with strong pairs or if the other players just bet.

The benefits of adopting a pet

There are millions of dogs and cats that sit in shelters waiting for someone to take them home every day of the week. Millions more are euthanized for lack of shelter space or funds each year. While many people may feel that a purebred animal with papers is the only way to get a good dog or cat, this is completely false. There are millions of service animals that just want a home and a family. While it may seem like there are downsides to adopting a pet from a shelter, the benefits far outweigh any downsides to adopting an animal.

One of the biggest benefits of adopting a shelter animal is that the fee to adopt the pet is much less than anything a breeder or pet store will charge. Many shelters offer their pets for minimal fees to facilitate adoption. Also, animals usually come with a microchip already embedded and have already been modified. These are two costs that the new owner will not have to incur after taking their dog home. Shelter pets also come fully vaccinated and dewormed, something that often can’t be said for pet store animals.

Another great benefit of adopting a pet from a shelter is that mature animals are available. By adopting a mature pet, the family does not have to go through the extremely destructive phase of chewing or housebreaking, in many cases. Another plus is that the dog or cat is fully grown. If a family has limited space available, it’s a good idea to adopt an adult pet instead of a puppy because the dog won’t outgrow. The temperament of the dog or cat is also already known at the time of adoption. This is very important, especially for people who will spend a lot of time with their dog or cat around children.

Slightly less testable is the generally accepted theory that shelter animals are more eager to please their new families than a pampered animal from a pet store. There is a theory that a rescued animal feels so much gratitude for being removed from the shelter by its new family that it tries to express it by trying to please his new family even more.

For animal lovers, adopting a pet helps correct the problem of pet overpopulation. Purchasing a puppy or kitten from a pet store or breeder contributes to overpopulation problems.

Considering the size of the population in California and recent divorce statistics suggesting that around 50% or more of all marriages in California will end in divorce, it is not surprising to see the need for divorce lawyers in California.

California has tens of thousands of California attorneys or California attorneys registered with the State Bar of California, which is an indicator of how many California attorneys are needed. Of the tens of thousands of California attorneys who practice law in California, some will practice as divorce attorneys, devoting all or part of their practice to the field of family law issues, such as divorce or dissolution of marriage, paternity, unmarried couples, custody of children. visitation, domestic violence, restraining orders, spousal support, child support, guardianship, adoptions, community property, property division and more.

California divorce attorneys will generally practice family law in at least one California county. Typically, the county will be the county in which the California divorce attorney’s office is located. However, it is not unusual for a California divorce attorney to practice law in multiple California counties. There are approximately 58 Superior Courts in California where a California divorce attorney may choose to practice family law, such as the California County Superior Court of Alameda, Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, Contra Costa, Del North, El Dorado, Fresno, Glenn, Humboldt, Imperial, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Lake, Lassen, Los Angeles, Madera, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Modoc, Mono, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Orange, Placer, Feathers, Riverside, Sacramento, San Benito, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter , Tehama, Trinity, Tulare, Tuolumne, Ventura, Yolo or Yuba.

Currently, California has hundreds of Certified Family Law Specialists (CFLS) registered with the California State Bar Association. The percentage of all California attorneys in California who are actually seeking to become Certified Family Law Specialists (CFLS) is relatively low. Although California divorce lawyers are not required to have such certification to practice family law, it does allow the California divorce lawyer to advertise themselves as a specialist in the field of family law.

Considering the size of the population in California, the high divorce rate in California, and the number of California divorce attorneys practicing family law in California, it is not surprising to see how there is a growing need for California divorce attorneys. California among today’s consumers.

How to Give Oral Medications to Dogs

Most dog owners will inevitably find themselves in the situation where they have to give their dog tablets or medication to treat a condition during the dog’s lifetime. As with their human counterparts, most dogs don’t like being forced to swallow any kind of medication, so what’s the best way to give a dog an oral treat?

We have found six ways to accomplish this sometimes difficult task:

1. Insertion into the mouth by hand.

This is the fastest method of giving oral tablets to dogs. Tilt your dog’s head up and insert your thumb and forefinger behind the upper jaw behind the canine teeth, which will cause your dog’s mouth to open. This will allow you to insert the tablet into the back of your mouth as far as it will go. Then remove your fingers and hold your dog’s mouth closed for a few moments and blow into his nose, forcing him to swallow in response. However, nose blowing is unpleasant, so avoid doing it with more aggressive dogs.

2. Hidden in food or candy

The easiest way to give tablets to dogs is in their food. Most dogs will not realize that the medication has been hidden discreetly within the dog food and will eat it with gusto. In some cases, you can crush the tablet and then add it to food; however, check with your vet as some medications are less effective when crushed. Try hiding the tablet inside your dog’s favorite snack, or dip it in honey, peanut butter or any food that coats the tablet with delicious flavor.

3. Use a ‘Dog Piller’

A device used to administer tablets and capsules, and designed by veterinarians, this is an ideal way to give your dog the medication he needs, as well as protect your fingers from aggressive dog bites! Available at most major pet stores, the pet piller (or pill popper) is a plastic plunger with a soft rubber tip that makes it easy to administer oral medications. Place the tablet inside the tip and place the plunger in your dog’s mouth, push the plunger and the tablet will drop into the back of his mouth. Similar to administering medication by hand, keep your dog’s mouth closed for a few seconds until the dog swallows the tablet.

4. Pillboxes

Pill Pockets are a delight that have a built-in pouch that is perfect for hiding tablets and medication. The pocket masks the medication, making it an easy and stress-free way to administer tablets to dogs. They come in a variety of flavors to choose from. Some are also an excellent source of vitamins to supplement medication and promote a healthy immune system.

5. Liquid medications

If you need to administer medication in liquid form, you’ll find this a bit easier than tablets or capsules. To do this, separate the dog’s lower front lip from its teeth to form a socket into which you can inject the liquid medication. As with solid medications, be sure to keep your dog’s mouth closed for a few seconds so it spreads into the mouth. Check with your vet to see if the liquid medication is suitable to add to your dog’s food.

After you have administered the medication, reward your dog with a small treat. This will create a positive association between giving them medication and receiving a treat.

As with all pet health medications or treatments, be sure to follow the directions and instructions printed on the product label.

False Imprisonment in the State of California: It’s More Than You Think

Most of the time, when people think of false imprisonment, they think of people being falsely arrested by the police. Most people are unaware that non-police officers can be responsible for unlawful imprisonment in many different circumstances.

The purpose of this article is to give a brief synopsis of the civil tort of unlawful detainer in the state of California.

A basic definition of false civil imprisonment is; “a person who intentionally detains another within the bounds of a fixed area, without the consent of the detained person and without a privilege that may excuse the conduct.”

For example, let’s say a man locks a woman in a room without her permission. This would be a classic case of unlawful civil imprisonment.

Another example would be a person holding something of value for another person with the intention of keeping it in a certain place and without the consent of the person whose valuables are in possession.

False civil imprisonment could also include a person grabbing another without their consent and holding them so they can’t get out.

There are many other examples of false imprisonment that I can provide, however the above examples are meant to give you an idea of what the civil tort of false imprisonment is in the state of California.

A key element of the false imprisonment civil tort is that the detained person must reasonably believe that they cannot leave. Reasonable is a legal term of art used in the legal world. What reasonable basically means is: what a reasonably prudent person would do or believe in similar circumstances.

Another key element of the false imprisonment error is that the person doing the imprisonment should not have the privilege of doing so.

Examples of privileges that would allow one person to hold another within the confines of a fixed area are: merchants investigating shoplifting; civilians who have witnessed a felony, and placing the person who committed the felony under citizen’s arrest; or police officers who have probable cause to believe a crime has been committed.

As with other intentional wrongs, victims of unlawful imprisonment are entitled to not only compensatory damages, but may also recover punitive damages. (Punishment)

The Basic Needs of Toy Poodles

Many individuals and families consider having toy poodles to share their lives. But all dog owners or prospective dog owners need to realize that owning a dog requires 10 to 15 years or more of commitment. Just like humans, Toy Poodles, as well as other dog breeds, need food, water, shelter, and care to survive.

Proper nutrition.

Take a look at your dog’s diet and see if there is anything you can do to improve it. Look for dog foods and dog food companies that have proven to use high-quality ingredients. There are also pet foods specifically formulated for dogs with certain health conditions like obesity and diabetes. If you prefer to feed homemade dog food, ask your vet for advice on what ingredients are appropriate for your furry friend. When changing dog food, remember to do it gradually to avoid gastrointestinal upset and other digestive problems.

Physical maintenance.

As much as it is important for humans, exercise is also vital to keeping your dog fit. Toy Poodles are active little dogs that need a daily walk, either around the block or to the nearest park. Behavior problems such as chewing, digging and urine marking inside the house can be prevented with daily play as well as ball and fetch. But remember not to over-exercise your dog, allow exercise that is only appropriate for your dog’s age and breed.

Cleaning.

Grooming does not necessarily mean dressing your dog. Grooming is one way to ensure that your dog is clean and does not look or smell dirty. A Toy Poodle needs a regular bath and clipping every six weeks. Cleans ears, teeth and gums. Dog shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, and other cleaning and grooming supplies are available at most pet supply stores.

coat.

Dogs have natural instinct. They need a space that they can call their own, their refuge and home. Make the shelter, whether it’s a kennel, crate or bed, as comfortable as possible. The bed or crate should be appropriate for your dog. It should not be too small to allow movement.

Training.

Training is an important part of a dog’s life. Even if you do not intend to have your dog appear in dog shows and rings, training is still necessary. Remember that a well-trained dog is nice to be around. Less accidents at home, less problems!

Providing your dog with the necessities mentioned above will certainly create a long, happy and healthy life with your furry friend.

The psychology of poker calculators

You have lost fifty-six dollars. It’s only been 40 minutes into an online 2/4 Hold’em table where you were determined from the start to play smart and aggressive poker. It’s Friday night and you know the competition is going to be strong. You’ve been watching all the players and now you have 4 of them linked, while two others have just joined, and the other 3 have been mixing well, playing a lot of pots.

You made a mistake before, not knowing that a “rock” had the goods, when you tried to buy a pot with a check-raise on the turn, on the come, to a draw that, of course, never came. You consider your play a miss and then justify it as an investment for another hand. The rest of your losses came from seeing cheap flops in late position, except once, when the small blind raised you, and then came back. You knew you had to call just for the sake of pot odds. Failures have not hit you yet.

Oh my Poker God, does this sound like a thousand times? Yes, quite. Here’s the thing. A lot of times, when you’re in a hand you shouldn’t have been in, you try to justify how you lost the hand. It is a natural human tendency to do this, and poker players know it very well. The truth is, you saw a KQos from early position and then had to respond to a raise from the unpredictable player two seats down. You thought it was a good move, but you’re heads-up with KQos, he has position on you, and the flop is Ks 9s 2h. You’ve hit top pair and want to show him the flop he hit you. your bet He calls. 2h back. That didn’t help him, and you really want him to fold now, so he pulls out your 4 bucks, and then, worst of all, he raises. Now you know you’re screwed. He has AK or AA, maybe even a pot, but he may just be trying to buy this. Not only that, those jackpot odds demand that you call. You do, knowing that you’re going to check on the river and have to call one more bet to see his suited AK. Herein lies the value of a tool he can use on his computer, called a poker calculator.

Poker calculators are useful tools for online gambling that give you (at a minimum) accurate pot odds to know if you should be in a hand in the first place, but also to give you the right advice to check, fold or bet anywhere. given situation. Now consider this: the correct advice from a poker calculator is actually the mathematically correct decision. As all seasoned poker players will tell you, that’s only part of the equation. There is absolutely no guarantee that a persistent maniac will not have his two pair DEAD RIGHT with a made straight. That is the intellectual part of the game. But poker is a game that persistently challenges not only your intellect, but also your emotions. What may surprise you is that a poker calculator can help you control your emotions.

That may be strange news to some, because a poker calculator is an inherently mathematical odds device, which would apparently help you in certain hands, and it does too. But what it does even better is prevent you from losing money in the first place. Take that KQos for example. I have tried many of the online calculators, and there is none that advises you to enter for a raise in early position. Those cards look good, especially on a loose board, against dumb opponents, but it’s absolutely a hand for playing in position, with aggression, and not early with weakness where negative EV is guaranteed.

Sometimes it’s hard to look at your hands and put them down. But it’s much easier to fold when your online poker calculator shows you bright, bold warning colors, reminding you how much -EV his hand is. This is especially crucial when you’ve just won or lost a hand or two before, because at that point you’re much more likely to play your current hand as a result of previous hands. You might recognize that the description is slanted. Now if you had a piece of advice to prevent yourself from bending over two, three or even 6 times during a session, wouldn’t you call that valuable psychological help?
