I’m about to try to reveal the truth about the double whammy foul.

Pool Leagues, like so many other social organizations, love their controversy. There was a time, a season, when players in my league were hung up on the rules regarding a double hit. For the life of me, I couldn’t shed a bright enough light on the concept for everyone to understand a) the basic physics behind a double whammy, and b) why rules were necessary to begin with. He was trying to talk about it with small groups whenever controversy arose, but was completely dumbfounded at the inability of so many players to understand the simple truths of what he was telling them.

So I finally decided to run a league-wide demo, hoping to put the matter down. I also thought that I would share the explanations here in the hope that maybe people elsewhere can benefit from this.

A cue ball double hit is basically when the shooter has managed to hit his shot in such a way that the tip of his cue hits the cue ball twice. This is a fault because the second hit causes him to do things that he could not or would not do otherwise. Many players will inadvertently double hit under almost all circumstances and believe that the results are natural. Some players purposely hit twice to get their way at something they might not otherwise be able to accomplish, and they hope their opponents won’t notice.

Now, there is a risk of a double hit every time the cue is very close to the target ball that the shooter wants to hit, more especially when the player is generally trying to shoot directly through the cue ball. The first part of what physics is like: Physics tells us that every time the cue ball directly collides with an object ball, it will come to a complete stop. Because both balls weigh roughly the same weight, this is always true, even before any top spin or draw has a chance to enter and cause the cue to be chased forward or backward. The energy from the cue ball is transferred to the object ball, so the cue MUST stop.

The second half what makes a double hit is the cue swing. The mass of the cue and the body attached to it is greater than the cue ball. Hitting the cue ball does not transfer enough energy to stop the club completely. There is always a natural tracking, even if it is only an inch or two. It is also nearly impossible for a player to intentionally stop natural stick following altogether, although many do try.

This two-part combination results in the infamous double whammy. First, the player attempts to shoot directly at the object ball, then the cue ball stops for a fraction of a second before and draws or follows the kick, then the momentum of the cue forces him to continue forward where he then hits the stopped cue ball. for the second time. This will happen as long as the cue ball and the object ball are close together (within an inch or two). If you do this, and you see the cue ball rocket away afterwards, you should realize that you simply hit it twice.

You could set up a shot with a greater distance between the cue and the object, and you could land a massive follow-up hit at that cue ball that would make your ears buzz, but the cue wouldn’t react in any way similar to one that it was. double hit. With the top-spin, the cue would still come to a stop, probably make a small jump instead, and then chase itself forward at moderate speed. A double hit, on the other hand, reacts as if you hit the cue ball out of nowhere. Whitey would travel MUCH faster and shoot until he hit other object balls on the table.

To help avoid this foul, whenever you need to shoot a target ball in close proximity, you must choose not to shoot directly. (Some people will try to raise their stick, hoping to get to the cue ball and the table surface to avoid a double hit, but I recommend not to because it can damage the fabric, many fans do not know how to do it correctly to start, so they’re likely fouling in some other way) Instead, choose to shoot the object ball at an angle. The greater the angle, the more energy the cue ball holds. So you could slow down the carom, but it won’t stop completely. So you will continue to move out of the way of the cue, the momentum of which will still carry you forward, but the cue ball will no longer be sitting there in your path.

For example, eggs provide you with omega-3s, vitamin A, and many other supplements. If you are really trying to follow the advice of low carb diets, just eat the egg yolk.

If you eliminate these foods from your diet just to lose weight quickly, you are likely to gain weight again later. This is called a “yo-yo” diet. This is because your body will be so deficient in nutrients during the diet that you will crave for food and eat too much afterward. It’s best to completely cut out foods that are bad for you, such as junk food, and slightly reduce your intake of foods that are good for you, including grains, fruits, and vegetables.

The worst things you can eat on a low-carb diet are sugary drinks, snacks, and desserts. Eliminate them from your diet before eliminating whole grains, fruits, or vegetables. Also, it is important to realize that low carbohydrate diets will result in decreased energy. That’s because your body needs carbohydrates for energy. If you find that you don’t have enough energy to keep up with your usual lifestyle, you may cut out too many carbohydrates. Add them back until you feel ready to meet your daily responsibilities or consider changing your diet.

New White Collar Overtime Waiver Rules Are Coming, Now What?

On December 1, 2016, employers will have to pay more to take advantage of the so-called white-collar overtime exemptions from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). To prepare for the next change, employers need to know if and to what extent they will be affected by the new overtime exemption regulations.

The new rules focus primarily on the minimum wage and levels of compensation necessary to qualify for the FLSA’s executive, administrative, professional and IT employee overtime exemptions. Employers can ask the following questions to determine the potential impact of the new overtime rules before it is too late.

Are any employees classified as exempt under one of the FLSA’s white collar overtime exemptions? If not, you should not be affected by the higher standard salary levels under the new rules. If so, go to the next question.

Do any of these employees ever work more than 40 hours in a workweek? If not, you should not be affected by the higher standard salary levels under the new rules. If so, go to the next question.

Do any of these employees earn a salary of less than $ 913 per week? (This is equivalent to $ 1,826 fortnightly, $ 1,978 fortnightly, $ 3,956 monthly or $ 47,476 annually). If not, you shouldn’t be affected by the higher standard salary levels under the new rules. If yes, exemption classifications or compensation practices must be adjusted by December 1, 2016.

The most appropriate adjustments will typically depend on specific circumstances, such as the number of recently non-exempt employees, their wages, how often they work overtime, and the amount of overtime they work. Depending on your situation, employers may decide to implement one or more of the following adjustments.

Increase salaries. Perhaps the simplest and least disruptive adjustment would be to increase the salaries of exempt clerical employees to no less than $ 913 per week. Unfortunately, it can also be unrealistic for many employers. While some salary increases may be small, others may be more than double.

Those who choose this option should remember that exemption status requires more than meeting the new minimum wage requirements. Main job duties are still relevant under the new rules and employees must still meet the applicable “standard duty test” to be exempt.

Pay overtime compensation to recently non-exempt employees. The alternative to increasing wages is to reclassify these exempt employees as eligible overtime employees. Those who work more than 40 hours in a workweek are charged one and a half times their regular rate. Remember that employers must keep track of the daily and weekly hours worked by all nonexempt employees, including new nonexempt ones.

Paying overtime compensation may not be a problem for employees who rarely work or work very little overtime. Despite paying more for occasional overtime, it would still be less expensive than raising wages. The same cannot be said for employees who work regularly or who work long overtime hours. Your overtime pay can add up quickly, possibly approaching or even exceeding $ 913 per week.

Ban overtime. Recently non-exempt employees may be prohibited from working overtime. If no overtime is worked, no overtime compensation is required. This option may be simple, but it may not be easy. Exempt employees typically work more than 40 hours in a workweek because they have more than 40 hours of work to do. Your work still needs to be done, but someone else will have to do it.

Adjust staff, schedules or assignments. Those who prohibit overtime may have to make various operational adjustments. For example, workload distribution and workforce scheduling may need to be adjusted to compensate for lost overtime. In some cases, it may be necessary to hire new employees to make up for lost productivity.

Adjust salaries. New non-exempt employees who are allowed to continue working overtime as usual will end up receiving more money for the same amount of work. Reallocating regular wages and overtime compensation is a way to keep hours worked and amounts paid to recently non-exempt employees nearly the same. However, employers cannot reduce an employee’s hourly wage below the highest applicable minimum wage (federal, state, or local) or continuously adjust wages each workweek to manipulate the regular rate.

Employers shouldn’t wait too long to start planning. It takes time to change exemption classifications and compensation practices, especially if they are substantial or complex. With all the hype, it’s safe to assume that the violations will be noticed not only by those who are affected by the new rules, but also by the Department of Labor.
